You haven't even seen GD yet but think you can do without Hitchin and KFAD? Well that's interesting. :-p I love both songs live and my experience is that it's more about feeling and living out those songs than listening to them. I can feel how much they enjoy playing them, and that's why I enjoy them as fuck, too. So I don't get the hate for KFAD here. Maybe it's their favourite live song, they are allowed to have a favourite live song, too, not only us ;-)

They do. I remember Billie saying on the Jeff Matika show that KFAD is such a fun song to play live. The time that they spend playing it and the medley after it could easily be used for 2/3 rarely played GD songs. #nokfadonthesetlist

Im not saying I personally wouldn't have fun experiencing it - I know I would. However, I've heard and watched the same (drawn out) shtick for 10 years now. At this point, I'd rather them surprise me by playing more rarities. Basically, I won't be sad if they stopped playing either of those songs for a bit. Fortunately for fans like you, they probably won't!

Not even the full songs, just a few lines like he does with the covers!
pisquano
Has anybody noticed that they played Waiting in a different tuning (the video I checked is from PA gig)? It's half step up, in A. By the way I think it sounds better!
That Dude
Hey, in a few hours we can all start complaining about how their set list again. If it were up to me (it's apparently not) I'd do 19 hits, 8 new songs, 3 deep cuts and and 2 super duper rare songs. I hope that we do get live debuts of all the new tracks but for some reason I don't think they're going to play this album all the way through. Looks like we just might be hearing BANG BANG, RevRad and Still Breathing a hell of a lot soon. Which is fine.

Maybe it's their favourite live song, they are allowed to have a favourite live song, too, not only us ;-) The thing I don't get about it is they literally switch up the things they do and say during KFAD/Shout from show to show more than in any other song (most are either just played through or they say/do the same things during them). Different costumes, different Billie antics, different jokes and silly things said, different band members joining in with the singing, different Billie/Tre interaction, different sax solos, different covers sung. Hitchin A Ride is a close second for variation, all kinds of different stuff said/done/asked of the audience by Billie and sometimes randomly switching to a different song etc. How anyone can say these songs are stale when they vary the performance of them more than they vary the performance of any of the other regular songs I don't know Then again I don't really get caring about the number of different songs they play , as long as the show's a nice length and I'm being entertained throughout it I don't even notice. I'm glad they dedicate some of the show to doing things other than just straight playing through as many songs as they can, it's much more entertaining that way. Just read back a bit. Are people under the impression that Green Day haven't almost always stuck to a regular setlist when they've toured for the last 2 decades+? Look up some setlists and you can see that's always how they've done things. Why suddenly expect different? They've done the stretching out songs and messing around thing forever too, here's an almost 10 minutes long Paper Lanterns from '

bloodymurderbitch
Realistically I will be happy seeing them play anything live because I love this band. but, I would be so blown away to hear some more songs off of Warning and Nimrod and Insomniac! Pretty pretty please. I'm hoping when they swing back around to the US with the bigger venues the set list is pretty different from what's been the norm. also SO PUMPED to hear Forever Now live. May cry - we'll see.

Q-Man
Opened with Know Your Enemy in Boston tonight. I got excited thinking we were gonna get a new setlist but that was the only change. I mean i swear I remember my Green Day concerts being at least 2.5 hours. Glad to see scattered but no BOBD? It's a shame to see some really good songs gone from the setlist, but for some reason they still have KYE? If you're gonna have only one song from 21CB, you should make it EJN, or even better, Static Age, or even better, 21CB or even better.... Hitchin a ride can go, unless they play the full thing because the build up in that song is incredible and if you're only going to have half of it, it almost completely defeats the purpose of the song. That Dude
Well they switched the order of songs around at the beginning of the show. variety to the max! I am noticing that out of their singles, they are sticking with the most successful of them for the most part. a whopping NINE #1 hits with the rest generally being high ranking as well: Welcome to Paradise reached: #7 Hitchin a Ride: #5 Waiting: being the least popular single they've played, reaching #26 She: #5 Still Breathing: #41 but climbing Jesus of Suburbia: #17 Good Riddance: #2. I'd love to hear some of their unsuccessful singles from time to time as well, or if they want to play bigger one how about some Working Class Hero, Let Yourself GO, Stuck With Me, Walking Contradiction, Last of the American Girls, Nice Guys Finish Last.............. Heck, I'd be happy with an ALL SINGLES show, as long as they covered each album fairly. 2-3 singles from each album, that would be awesome. (that would help you guys out that hate King for a Day so badly. It could be replaced with an extended version of.....Kill the DJ (but played in the style of King for a day, haha) wow, they really are using the same kind of set they used during Trilogy Times (I sang that like Troubled Times by the way) check out this show: http://www.setlist.fm/stats/average-setlist/green-day-13d68939.html?year=2013 setlist.fm is awesome though. If you really dig through Green Day's shows, you see patterns for sure. As the pages went by I started to get depressed, (oh my gosh, they've been playing Basketcase/She/King For a Day/Shout in the same order for 20 years in a row!!!) but then you come across some really crazy, weird set lists from 1999 or 2000 and it's kind of cool. Saw one where Prosethtic head was in the encore. They used to end on When I Come Around. One thing is for certain though: They freaking love Welcome to Paradise and KING FOR A DAY. Justin
Even listening to Rev Rad you can imagine most of these song live and imagine Billie working his routines in to them. With the trilogy you could imagine songs on there which wouldn't work live. (Nightlife, the forgotten, troublemaker to name a few) I haven't heard a song yet that I'm like na this wouldn't work, Young Blood, somewhere now, bouncing off the walls would be incredible live. Of all of them, if we don't hear Young Blood live I'll be surprised
bloodymurderbitch
I want to hear every single new song live. Like someone else mentioned the album is definitely short enough that they could play the whole thing AND still give us a good mix off all the other albums. I do like Know Your Enemy live, but I'd rather hear 21st Century Breakdown, Horseshoes and Handgrenades or Peacemaker if they're only going to do one song off 21st. jabharty
I'd love them to sneak in Paper Lanterns again, was the song that got me into the band. Obviously they're stuck on certain parts of the setlist that they never change, but I'd love for them to just have a 5-song chunk in the middle where they play some requests or at least change the setlist up a little. I'm almost certain they'll lengthen it up again when they tour the arenas. I'll be genuinely frustrated if they don't play either Somewhere Now/Forever Now live.
