Welcome To Paradise dropped tonight,

21 Guns switched for WMUWSE

Interesting. Saw them on 9/6 and the setlist I obtained showed that they intended to replace 21 Guns with Ordinary World (never got around to playing it due to time issues). Did they play that song at all?

I love this band more than anything, but their shows have become pretty stale.  I love that they do interact with the crowd, have pyro, and different effects, but its been the same show essentially since 21 century breakdown tours.  I saw them last month and I literally knew exactly what was coming and exactly what billie was gonna say at certain moments and I was kinda bored to be honest.  I was lucky enough and am extremely grateful to have been able to go to the rough trade show back in October and that was the greatest show I will ever go to and that shows the potential that this band has but they still just "play the hits" and revert back to the same gimmicks.  I almost feel like they have become robotic, but that rough trade show showed a whole new side where they just played randomly and kinda disorganized, but it was exactly what I always wanted out of them and I really hope that eventually they will just kind do what ever at shows and play whatever they want and not stick to a consistent show like they have for 10 years now.  I love these guys, but I think they have a solid fanbase now that knows their whole catalog and they have reached a point in their careers where they can experiment and play random stuff and not just assume that people don't know anything other than their hits.  Im too lazy to read through this whole thread, Im sure Im not alone on my opinion, but I will still always buy a ticket when I have a chance to see them!

That's the setlist that was printed at the beginning of the tour, ordinary world hasn't been played in months.

THEY PLAYED ARMATAGE!!!

Brain Stew is enough for me from Insomniac, i wish a lot more from 21st CB and AI would be played.

More from AI??? Cause  over half the album isn't enough 😂

Why the hell they couldn't just treat every city to that two minutes of greatness? Which show did they not do WTP at?

Is it true that they played a snippet of Redundant after Hitchin a Ride at their show in San Antonio on the 9th? It says so on setlist.fm, but I couldn't find anything in the thread of the show. If it is true, what happened there? I love that song!

And did they probably just switch 21 Guns for WMUWSE at the last show because it was September 11th?

Was there and that did not happen.

September 11th and they also played it at Chula.

I would imagine they play it Saturday.

His father passed on the 10th and a major influence just died yesterday so I would expect WMWSE Sat again. I'm hoping we get a couple audibles and maybe some brush ups for the new leg but not getting my hopes up.

Brain Stew used to be a complaint. When he got sober, I knew we would hear it less. It was a staple for several tours.

Yeah, it's not a leg to leg problem, just show to show. Remember in the states, it's easier to be able to go to 5-7 shows on a single leg.  I get your point and TBH, this is the first leg ever that I can remember where they are playing literally zero audibles.

So true, I have been following them religiously forever and this is absolutely the first full tour/ leg with absolutely zero audible action. Look, I'm totally at peace on the setlist thing, I've been lucky enough to experience parts of this tour firsthand and I get it. Totally makes sense and they're happy with everything and that in itself is priceless.

At the same time, they "happen" to be playing Mexico City the same weekend as the Raiders/ Pats game. Tempting, right? I'm not going but it's tempting- if there were a chance at an audible that might be enough to push me over the edge and fly the 3,000 miles for an epic weekend. So, by having a static playlist, you might lose out on attracting super hardcore fans, which is happening with me in this case. So it is impactful. The end of the world for the band or their fans? No. But it's a real thing.

Jesus is that right?

i just checked out the setlists which I usually don't do going back to Europe and indeed they have been playing the same songs each show as this US leg. That doesn't bode well for the SA leg. Ugh.

Palladium list:

^that setlist is almost perfect. I'd add FN (possibly instead of JOS so that it would leave space for one extra song) and it would be perfect.

Was a sick show actually. Saw FN like 2-3 times that week or two though so all good. :) but the Palladium crowd was fun (at least where I was). I nearly died that night I think. Literally.

Variety between shows? You were lucky :P

I really dig the setlist. I'd be more than happy if they played this instead of their standard set for a while.

Yeah. Been a very odd tour. Great shows but after the small venues, they went as static as ever. I was saying earlier that they usually change between legs but not really this season.

Oh well, I have yet to leave a GD show unhappy and I've been to MANY.

Yeah, that's precisely why we've been going on about it all this time haha

Actually, for some weird reason, the america tour legs have been the worst when it comes to the setlist. They rarely mixed it up this tour, but when they did, it was in Europe and New Zealand / Australia... So, while I don't expect any real setlist changes in the next leg, I think there is a chance more will happen than did in this leg (which isn't saying much lol).

I just thought Sydney was lucky because GD know we only get one shot each cycle. Also Sydney was fucking loud - you could tell the band was really into it.

It's nice they played Armatage Shanks at the last two shows,  a few more from Insomniac; would be great in the future too :D

I know this discussion has passed, but I found the comparison to a Broadway show quite interesting - I followed a musical  around its UK tour this year (saw it around 18 times) and it never lost its impact. The suggestion that reading off a script means it's not meaningful is incorrect (or at least in some cases.) Sure, it's the same speeches or comments etc every night, but  it doesn't mean he doesn't mean it every time. There are some aspects of the show I tire of, don't get me wrong, but a lot of the time, knowing what's coming is actually exciting for me. Being ready to react to the next thing is actually fun  and then when there's a rare setlist change up it's exciting in a different way. Because I'll never tire of hearing ANY GD song live, knowing the order actually brings a small bit of comfort to me, a familiarity. It's how I felt seeing that musical 18 times, and it's how I feel seeing GD too.

That being said, it wouldn't kill them to change a few songs show by show :D

Tbh it's kind of more meaningful having it written down, so that new people in the crowd can hear it and appreciate it.

Yeah, there's that too! And written down also shows thought, and conviction - if he's saying it every night, it's more than just a passing thought (and it's not like he doesn't have those too during the show!)

Yes, so nice they remembered that album exists now that the U.S. tour is over.

I'm totally not bitter or anything. :P

But it is really strange that they'd wait until the last couple of shows, isn't it? It's not like they don't know how to play it... they did in the fall.
