The way Billie reaches out to and sings to the crowd during it is so great. With him doing that along with the whole crowd swaying and singing along it's iconic. Drop bloody JOS instead! I know everyone loves it but all they really do is play it straight through so there's no great on stage traditions lost, and it's long, and Forever Now has surpassed it as a more powerful and epic performance so I don't think it's strictly needed now. Yeh just drop JOS, their best track ever.
St. Jonny
Putting at back at the beginning of the show like 2nd always works. Then come the end of the set they don't have to bust their ass doing such a long tune. They obviously used to it now HAHA

Well if you want different songs played they have to drop something to make room for them . Surely when they have 7 AI songs on the setlist it makes sense for it to be one or more of them, and most of the other AI songs they play are as well known if not better known than JOS. They have a new powerful long multi-part song to play near the end in Forever Now so why not, wouldn't be the only "essential" song they've dropped to make room. AimieeSmith
It still puzzles me why the whole album hasn't been played live yet. It would great if they could do another version of storytellers . With the AI scenario they should keep AI , Holiday , Letterbomb - and the rest can go . Their is no need to bring back HC, because like you say Forever Now is that longer song that can replace JOS in the setlist .

JOS? jees Yes but almost all the songs they play are "essential" ones like those now, they have so many that they can't play them all and even ones like Brain Stew have had to get the chop. I don't even have a problem with their current setlist but if people want a bunch of different songs added there'd have to be some brutal culling to make space for them
St. Jonny
Jesus Of Suburbia will never leave the set. Except for specially marked club or bar shows. Any tour will have JOS on it from here on out.
Signe
Alright, my dream show is to hear nimrod or AI in it's entire glory, front to back. But I doubt this will ever happen. A part from that, I do enjoy the setlist. I like it, I know what I get. It's been the same routine for the enitre tour and at those I had the luck to witness, it's been a fantastic experience everytime. Everytime. As I suppose is the same for the most of you other hardcore (or more). But of course the same routines comes with me knowing when I get to pee, and sure it eventually gets a little predictable. Here is what I love and what they can never take off the list: When I come around - this is my tune. It's a party. It's needed. Minority - the whole shouting "a free for all, fuck em all" makes me feel just as cool as it did when I was 12. I like it and it's a crowd arouser. Who doesn't like saying "fuck em all!"? Still Breathing - here comes the waterworks, you gotta let em out once every four years. Holiday - it's rowdy, it's fuck the power, it's damn well written and made. And we all like shouting that last little verse. Jesus of Suburbia - It's jesus of suburbia. Forever now - damn. Good Riddance - it's the final. There can be no other final. Also the waterworks mixed with confetti. * Here's what could be replaced: King for a day - it gets old, but I love the other songs and performances mixed in to it. What other song could be used? Hiticin' a ride - the pee song. It goes on forever and even though I love it, it's boring. Revolution Radio - it doesn't have the same.. weight (?) as bang bang and it always strikes me as slightly boring as it never goes to the next level. 21 Guns - I'm sorry, but still breathing does the job. Youngblood - A little too corny. Know your enemy - it fits but meeeh.. Ideas about what should be played: 1000 hours, Outlaws, Uptight, Sassafrats Roots, She, X-kid, Nuclear Family, Bouncing off the wall (imagine the moshpit), stay the night, east jesus nowhere, murder city, homecoming, whatsername. That's all I can think of and I now feel sad and ashamed for critizing the setlist and the fact that it will take quite a few years before it's time to see them live again. Exactly. All the ones's you mentioned as to go can go. King for a Day could easily be replaced by scattered. Hitchin a Ride by Pasalacqua. Rev Rad by Bouncing of the Walls. Youngblood by Christie Road. And Know you Enemy BY ANY OTHER SONG IN THEIR REPERTOIRE. (Murder City, Viva La Gloria, 21CB, and Lobotomy are all great live)
Q-Man
I noticed they have cut Ordinary World from the set on the recent dates. Glad 21 Guns is getting some love but I don't understand the thinking behind getting rid of Ordinary World. Also wish they would get rid of some AI songs. Didn't mind it on the first 2 legs of the American tour but now it's getting really old. They play more songs from AI than from the new album. I'd like to see Are We The Waiting cut at least and maybe even Boulevard.

It was fine when it was promotion for the movie but it doesn't compare to Good Riddance and we don't need both back to back. There's already enough from RevRad (though I would take TDTD or BOTW over Youngblood at this point). Billie really seems to rely on that big crowd reaction to feed off of and respond with the kind of energy needed for an arena show. To do that he has to play the songs most people know very well. I remember the debate in Cuatro over playing all those new songs in clubs and how hard that was. The crowd just doesn't react when they don't know a song and that freaks him out. Then they played Basket Case and the place exploded, he said. Deep tracks are fine for club dates where the crowd are mostly uberfans but arenas are largely more casual fans who come expecting to hear songs they know so what can you do. St. Jonny
Hitchin' A Ride is great live, needs to be shorter so people can't use it as a pee song. I hate additions on old school songs.

I think it works with Hitchin A Ride because it's not just stretching it out for the sake of it, it's teasing and getting the crowd ready before the awesome climax. Just the right song for some cheekiness and making the crowd wait for it in the middle imo. What I hated was when they'd switch to another song instead of playing the end! No point in playing Hitchin A Ride at all if they're going to cut off the best part. Also they've been making additions like that to songs since the old school days so there's not really anything weird about it
pacejunkie punk
After watching the Troubled Times video on repeat I've gained a new appreciation for the song and it's so current now I really wish they would add this song to the show in place of Youngblood. They could do some amazing lighting with it too the way the song starts quiet and than explodes in the chorus. Now I SO want to hear this live!!! MillenniumFan
I don't know... Not saying I'm a massive fan of Youngblood, but it just has a certain punch and energy when played live that TT simply doesn't have (that's I think why they dropped it). However, what I'd really like them to do is drop one song in favor of Too Dumb To Die and alternate between Youngblood and Bouncing Off The Wall, because they are quite similar in terms of energy and punch... Too cheesy and ever since I saw the video with the Twilight clips it's all I can think about when I hear it. Song ruined.
