We took my sister to her first GD show last month and she loved it, she even said there wasn't a single song she wanted to hear that they didn't play. Im in the 1% who selfishly wants them to play something different whether that means them dropping Longview, Hitchin A Ride, She, Holiday, BOBD (not basket case though cause that song never gets boring) I totally agree in many respects. However, those of us who want a fresh setlist are not in a 1% category- between my friends, family, etc. who go to all the shows, all want a more diverse set night to night. While this is a small sample, I bet more like 50% of the audience feels the same way rather than 1%. While I'm sure it's true that those who actively are annoyed that the setlist doesn't change are likely in the minority, I'll bet that it's more than a handful of people each night. St. Jonny
Keeping in mind nobody is asking for any drastic changes to the set. Most of it can stay the same but one or two songs that aren't the same in every set would make for a surprise and something else to talk about. Who knows, maybe they will. There were some nights on their last tour back in June where they would switch out a couple songs. I think it was Pasalaqua/Dry Ice in place of Knowledge? Also, the tour they had late last year/early this year had a couple random songs too. I remember them playing Novocaine, September, and Nuclear Family. Billie also pulled out LNOE during one of his acoustic sets.

They probably wouldn't play it if that hadn't happened, so I'm really happy that whoever tripped over the power cable that night did it.

One of my absolute favourites too, I never get sick of it. I was incredibly lucky to hear it live in Gothenburg this tour!

Hermione
I'm so bad about remembering what songs I've seen after shows I had to check the list I've made and apparently I've seen Going to Pasalacqua but somehow I can't remember it despite loving it and it totally being on my wishlist of all time classic songs to see live. I'll have to check setlist fm to find out what show it was and jog my memory . Proof that there's much more to shows than just the setlist if ever I saw it (definitely for me anyway). Edit: Oh ok it was at Shepherds Bush in 2012 which was the most crazy and intense show ever where pretty much everything was just a blur so that explains it. I'm sure I was happy about it at the time

Perhaps I shouldn't have made those people out to be the majority in the post you replied to. As for the songs they could drop from the set list, if I was going to multiple gigs, I might agree to possibly Hitchin a Ride and Holiday being changed up for other songs, but not the other three you mentioned (and definitely not Basketcase). I would add to your list Know Your Enemy, Are We the Waiting, and Minority as the songs I'd be happy to be sacrificed for other songs if I were to go to multiple gigs. I heard there was an 11:00 curfew and the show ended right at 11:00. Well I'm done bitching about the setlist because after having seen the clips, the Oakland show was performed with so much energy and passion I have to assume they know what they were doing. It was still a great show. i am bitching about why they cut O.W live..it is one of most endearing moment for me after time I watch them live ..and I thought it was for Billie too..I was wrong. St. Jonny
With some bands it's a jinx but I think after the last one, they could just put it in and then correct the cover medley. We all know what's comin.

We all know what's comin. Totally. So let's try for a reverse jinx- hopefully we'll get a little Pasalacqua/ Scattered/ Paper Lanterns out of it. Disclaimer- the above isn't exactly asking for the moon and the stars- they've played all of these songs within the last year. A big ask would be asking them to cover the White Album front to back or something (which, by the way, Phish did for Halloween one year by surprise). They don't have to do something zany or weird. Just 2/3 of their great songs that we don't hear all....the...time (that's a thought right there- All The Time wouldn't be a bad choice at all). And it hasn't been mentioned for about 3 pages at this point so here goes- death to King For a Day already! Loved it when the album came out, became lukewarm to it after the Warped Tour/ festivals from '98-00, broke up with it permanently during AI, loathed it during 21CB as it killed the momentum of their otherwise ungodly insane shows at their peak, despised it during the Trilogy Tour, and now I just honestly want to bludgeon the song, nuke it, then scatter its ashes over the ocean once I break out of this god damn padded dungeon of hell known as King For A Day. After 71 pages - GD add a section for old school GD fans - 3 or 4 songs - this won't interfere with any stage pyro etc & for the love of god #nokfadonthesetlist
