I would just really love to hear them play Say Goodbye and Bouncing Off The Wall. I think they'd both sound amazing live. BOTW would have so much energy.

And if Billie is in a trilogy mood right now, BOTW is the song that sounds most like it came from the trilogy era.

Well, sure I'd like more RevRad songs (Bouncing Off The Wall is the second song after Bang Bang that simply screams for being played live), but please at least play one song from Insomniac! I will simply not have this album ignored... Especially if Billie keeps posting about it argh, so frustrating haha

Translation: For the love of all things holy, don't write a song like Say Goodbye and then never play it live.

Yes! My first thought when I heard that song was that it's going to sound incredible live, I was so sure they were going to play it.

Look how many amazing songs on Nimrod and Warning that have never been done live. Very big list.

People still act like this is the first tour where they didn't change the setlist much though. They've literally never been a band who changes their setlist loads, if you'd gone to multiple shows in 1994 you would've seen the same every night too. Sometimes there's been tours where they switched up more songs from leg to leg but even then it's not been massive changes. I get being interested to know what they've played or if they've made changes but I'm not sure why there's so much disappointment over lack of changes when it's really nothing new. No problem with it being discussed but that's just my view on it.

I agree to some extent but also disagree, I wasn't expecting this massive overhaul of the set.

american idiot tour as it progressed they switched up JOS and Homecoming a fair bit and added Letterbomb and Give Me Novacaine and sporadically Whatsername.

21CB tour obviously is where most people got this wild expectation from since they were playing lots of old songs but they switched Before The Lobotomy and Viva La Gloria half way through the tour, (still gutted I never got to see those songs) and added American Eulogy and Murder City

99Revs tour they started they added Stray Heart and Missing You half way through the tour.

I was expecting them to perhaps change a song or two from Rev radio this leg but after all it is still early days.

Me too. It reminded me of EJN - I really expected they'd play it.

Same, I think these two have a similar vibe. If they played both that would be fine by me :P

I love EJN so much, I'd be so happy if they played it.

At this point I'm honestly just excited to see them again on Monday. Yeah sure if they play the same songs that's stupid, but you're still seeing one of the greatest bands ever performing live right in front of you. I mean if you go see Paul McCartney live a few times on his current tour you're going to get the same set every time and pretty much the same set as last tour. Yeah sure that sucks, but are you going to be bitching about the fact of his set list being the same after each show or are you going to be talking about how amazing he performs at the age of 75 and that you just saw a Beatle in person. Are your going to bitch about Guns N' Roses playing the same set every night or are you going to be talking about how amazing Axl sounds and how great it is that Slash and Duff are back in the band? Hell, if I could go see Green Day on every date they played on this leg of the tour I'd do it. Yes it sucks that they don't change the set that much. But it's more about being there and feeling the energy rather than worrying about what they are playing.

They tried Too Dumb to Die but maybe they weren't happy with it or the response.

ETA: sounds like there could be some surprises at the Oakland show. Here Mike talks a bit about their process with the setlists: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/entertainment/7188594-181/green-day-returns-to-bay

Nice read! Most of what he says could be interpreted in a number of ways but "we’re going to reach deep into our catalog for that show" and "this is going to be the biggest party Green Day’s ever thrown” sound promising.

Remember when they played Peacemaker, Angel Blue, Before The Lobotomy and they were supposed to play 21st Century Breakdown for their Dreamforce show? I hope it has a setlist like that.

Wow, that's not high expectations at all lol. TBH, at this point I'd be positively surprised if they just play something of Insomniac and a few suprise oldies, but I guess even that may be far fetched...

So based on the timing of the release and Mike's interview about the Oakland show I'm gonna go out on a limb and call it now -- I think they're gonna play Fell For You tonight.

Trying not to get my hopes up (about anything) but it would be cool if they did!

The article also said set lists are based on their mood that day (a theory I've entertained myself) and I think it's safe to say at least one of them is in a pretty good mood at the moment :P

That would be great, Billie's certainly showing enough love for it!

They probably did a bunch of them but just felt like releasing that one. Never know they might release more.
