Definitely not a rarity. Well maybe now. Definitely a great one. I see you haven't understood my post well! I didn't mean to say Brain Stew was a "rarity". I meant to say that during the current tour, it had been played only quite a very few times, it was a "rare" song to appear on the RevRad tour setlist. I did not talk about the song itself. As I said I'm a very big fan, just because I've known Green Day for only a year doesn't say it all. I love Brain Stew as a song (even though Insomniac isn't one of my favorite Green Day albums), and I'm aware of the band's history, as well as what Billie has been through and which he has let anyone interested know about. DeJennsitized
Way too many AI songs on the setlist right now! It feels like there's even more than when they did the AI tour We have Holiday, Letterbomb, BOBD, Are We The Waiting, St Jimmy, American Idiot and JOS. That's more than half the album! I know it's a much loved album and stuff but I'd rather have three insomniac songs (or five? lol) in place of JOS.

Great show. Christie Road and One of My Lies in an arena. Just awesome. 23 hours ago, crock6000 said: So much here to respond to but playing a set list that spells something is a Phish speciality. They once teased that at the next show they were gonna play Gamehenge in full when at the time they hadn't done that in like 10 years and what they did was play a set list that the first letter of each song spelled "Gamehenge" if if you really want to learn about Phish history and where many of their "hits" come from, Google "Phish Gamehenge". It was Tre's college thesis at University of Vermont. Also "Nectar", their best album. TweeEe, Stash, Mango, Poor Heart all came from a bar they used to play at called Nectar's. Much more to come, have to run! Great stuff!!!! BTW, whoever called "Brain Stew" a rarity and have been a fan only a year, it's been a staple since it's release until he got sober as the song is about the shitty part of amphetamines (cross-tops). Definitely not a rarity. Well maybe now. Definitely a great one. Oh and yeah, it was Big Cypress and I was going to University of Florida which is about 4.5 hours from the venue and it took us 4 hours to get there and another 16 to get the last few miles, literally. Back then I had no pull. Was worth every second. I saw Ale and Stuart during the beginning run this season. I'll be curious to see what they do at a hula. I bet they play a lot of rarities because it's the last show before Rose Bowl which will be all hits. Apparently we're very similar people that grew up in different parts of the country. Thanks GDA for bringing people like us together. And that's crazy how it took you 20 hrs to get to the show- my friends who drove were way up here in MA and it took 24 hours. But I heard stories how they ditched the car, walked, and camped, so maybe that's how they made decent time. I heard that the weekend was a cluster but their stories about the actual show were epic. Here comes the sun... Anyway, check out Lawn Boy from 7/25- they put it up on YouTube. It was two nights after I saw them and illustrates how they're firing on all cylinders right now- they are so good at the moment. Green Day and Phish are both at their peak and we're so lucky. Love the Brain Stew commentary. I think I've seen it 15 times. Definitely not a rarity but it's been on ice this tour. Would I be upset if it doesn't come back for the US leg? No. But would I complain if they played it? Absolutely not. We're in for a good ride this tour. I've said it too many times, so sorry about that- but I have a feeling it'll be like the second US leg of the 21CB tour. Tons of energy, some great setlist surprises along the way- it's going to be fun!
CherryBombs&Gasoline
Here's what I think: It's very difficult for a band like Green Day to create a "perfect" setlist. They have written so many "must play"-songs over the years, of you know what I mean. Basket Case, Longview and When I come around from Dookie, American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Holiday from AI. Then there's Good Riddance, definitely one of their most popular songs. And Hitchin a Ride, to name only a few. I understand that many hardcore-fans would love to hear some more rarities. But remember: the majority of people doesn't attend several concerts a year. And the casual fan want's to hear the greatest hits, that's for sure. There are already several popular songs that they don't play regularly (21 Guns, WMUWSE and Welcome to Paradise were not played every night during the RevRad-tour). And the boys also have to promote their latest record, so they have to play a couple of RevRad-songs. I understand what you mean. It would be great if they played some more songs from 21CBD, Insomniac or even the trilogy. But their energy is still incredible and the interaction with the fans make their shows so unique. I love that, no matter which songs they play.

RedundantIdiot
Looking at Setlist.fm, GD have played 55 of their own songs live during the Rev Rad era (https://www.setlist.fm/stats/green-day-13d68939.html?tour=Revolution+Radio). A few rarely played songs are on this list: Welcome to Paradise (18 plays), Armatage Shanks (9), Private Ale (7), JAR (6), Going to Pasalacqua (5), Stuart and the Ave. (4), Paper Lanterns (3), Brat (3), and One of My Lies (2). I thought that maybe they would have used more songs than this, but on the other hand I'm happy with the rarely played songs that have been played so far. I think people would be really happy with a few more plays of Armatage Shanks, JAR and Going to Pasalacqua.
AimieeSmith
I have always wondered why they insist on playing "knowledge" so many time's ; it's great in one sense that fans can come on stage to play due to the simple chords . But i feel they could replace it with one of old old classics like Paper Lanterns or Going to Pasalacqua . I still hope they bring Brainstrew / Jaded back to replace AWTW/ St Jimmy also

I love the title track from 21st CB as well, but to start with it when this is Rev Rad tour, and knowing it has been played as starting track during the 21st CB tour, hmm, not quite sure. I would prefer them to start with Somewhere Now, or a song from the trilogy (which seems to to be absent from your list!), as Loss of Control or Nuclear Family; - perhaps a bit too much covers to my taste, and coming slightly too soon on the setlist; - you let the first encore as it is, I agree (no one touches to SB+FN ; - as for the acoustic songs, that sounds great, except I'm conflicted about adding Whatsername and Wake Me Up When September Ends, I feel only of these two. When It's Time + 21 Guns seem to be a bit much, although I love them both. I would like to see either Whatsername or Wake Me Up When September Ends along with See The Light or Walk Away acoustic, and keep either Ordinary World or Good Riddance. Apart from that, great setlist you have made there Well we all know Whatsername is one of GD's best songs by far, and WMUWSE is a song everyone know and it's a great song everyone can sing along to just like 21 guns / good riddance. ANd yeh there are a few more songs but they played more songs i think on their 21st CB tour than the RevRad tour. And yeh i forgot Letterbomb SOMEHOW but it's added now haha . Yeh i know it might feel a bit weird to open with 21st CB but i think it's a great opener and a great ''get the crowd going'' song''. They can also swap 21st cb and add it with KNY as opener and then remove 21st cb. Yeh i don't think they should open with somewhere now as it doesn't fit after the good the bad and ugly theme. An opener has to be wild and get the crowd going imo. The covers should be there i think, because everyone can sing along to that and pretty much everyone knows the guitar riff so i think it's great. And yeh i mixed up the acoustic songs. Just Whatsername/WMUWSE/21GUNS/GOOD RIDDANCE
