pacejunkie punk
WMUWSE is always such a hard song for him to get through that I'm okay with him giving himself a break and hanging it up for a while. Love an emotional performance but I don't want to see him torture himself either. OTOH, I am so jealous of the people who saw GTP and Paper Lanterns!! ETA: According to setlist.fm it looks like tonight's show in Germany ended early due to technical issues. I'm curious to find out what happened if anyone was there. An even bigger shame because they did 21 Guns (partially)!
MillenniumFan
OMG, THE SETLIST MUST BE TROLLING, DID THEY JUST PLAY 21 GUNS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2010??!!! http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2017/take-off-gewerbepark-neuhausen-ob-eck-germany-7be4f618.html It's a bit suspicious though, that there aren't any instagram videos or posts with that song... BilIie Joe Armstrong
I don't believe it until there's a video or someone who was there confirms it. Imo they just messed up and wrote Guns instead of WMUWSE. Also AI acoustic? I want to hear that.

It looks like it was done only with BJ as the power was out.
kkpojpojpj
Really cool if they actually played an acoustic version of AI, would love to hear that!
herewegoagain
We might as well have it in here too, AI and 21 Guns: He probably chose it as it was an easy song to have the crowd sing when the power went (I asked the person who posted the video + well, it makes sense). And perhaps he wanted to give them a treat for the concert likely being cut short. According to the comments they were visibly upset they had to leave So guess it wasn't a planned change, but still, a nice surprise.
Marki.
So, there was no Jesus of Suburbia or the usual encore last night? I can imagine they were upset... Could they do Forever Now, or not even that? Anyway, Billie made a good choice with 21 Guns, I think the crowd loved it.
thundercatmary
It's pretty cool, they have many songs that the fans can instantly recognize, so when situations like this come up Billie just has the fans sing for him.

Thatsername
Oh Jesus we need a longer video of the acoustic version of 21 Guns in the dark, this is beautiful.... Though I'm not hoping for a blackout at the Hyde Park show, this is truly something special. Please keep 21 Guns in the setlist, I'd choose it over WMUWSE 1,000 times!!!! pacejunkie punk
It's weird that they play so few songs from 21CB on this tour. It was a huge album I wish they would make 21Guns and East Jesus Nowhere regular parts of the set. I would take EJN over Letterbomb any day. I think they should balance AI and 21CB more in the setlist.
St. Jonny
Were bigtime technical difficulties so they had to cut JOS and AI electric and had to do a portion of AI acoustic and 21 Guns, just a bit. Shite happens.
Jonas01
Love 21 guns
Hermione
Honestly I'd take the show being cut slightly short to see such a special acoustic performance, means they got a unique and memorable experience.
MillenniumFan
Plus they played 21 guns, omg. Don't even know why I'm so excited tbh. I mean, 21 Guns isn't one of my favorite songs by a long mile, but I'm just so excited that they played it for the first time in 7 years / since 2010. Brings back memories from the 21. Century Breakdown Tour... I really really hope we'll get to hear a full band version of that song (as well as a full band version of Wake Me Up When September Ends)! pouty bitch
I absolutely love 21 Guns, especially live. I really hope they bring it back.
RedundantIdiot
21 Guns is a song that really suits being played live- especially when the fans start singing and waving their arms, and I hope last nights singalong prompts GD to play it in full sometime
pacejunkie punk
And with the current tour being very much a greatest hits show, it's arguably one of the biggest I'm surprised they don't play it as much as you would expect.

DeJennsitized
I love that they dropped 21 Guns from the setlist but when the power goes out and they need a song the crowd knows really well, that's the one they go for On 18/06/2017 at 10:53 PM, Tinkle said: Doesnt take much - change one song & GDC is I love that this is the result of them lowering our setlist expectations 7 hours ago, belinda jane said: Plus the hand gestures they use in the musical. lara_greenday
In Sloevnia they played 6 songs from new album... But I was really sad cuz' they didn't played Scattered here :/ But I saw them in Italy and they played Scattered there, so it's okay i guess lol
Otis Big
Doesn't this setlist seem so strange? http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2004/grand-olympic-auditorium-los-angeles-ca-4bd6779a.html

AimieeSmith
I like the setlist but i feel things are getting too predictable when you go see them live . KNY played within the first 3 songs for the last 8 years , the speeches during Holday and Letterbomb etc. They need to change things up soon to stop people getting bored ; not everyone will like, but someone like me would haha Me personally though would get rid of all the touring members and just have them as a 3 like the good old days's . Three's company ; 6 is a crowd
pacejunkie punk
I guess we have to remember that most people are going to see their show once. It's a small percentage of idiots like us that go multiple times per tour and watch every full concert on youtube until it gets repetitive. Maybe we're our own worst enemies? My god, he was right! KYE indeed.
