St. Jonny
Well, that's a surreal upset man. Sorry guys, that's a raw deal. I was really upset when they took out Scattered and Christie Road but damn.

herewegoagain
I can't get over that setlist. I'd expect one surprise like Pasalacqua/Troubled Times/Armatage Shanks again or something like Somewhere Now, but they don't make it easy for us. When it rains it pours musical gold, apparently. 2 minutes ago, Boulevard of Brexit Dreams said: idk i wasn't there, i got this from setlist.fm i looked at the page for that show, but there isn't any setlist discussion yet That's the first night, there's plenty of freaking out in here ( @Jane Lannister) :

St. Jonny
Wow, is this just 'cause Sydney gets two sets or they finally switching it up a bit I wonder. So glad to see WTP in there and Novacaine. All of them, damn I want to be whoever got to go to both shows! They are damn lucky. Spoiled in fact.

They didn't mix it up for the two nights in Melbourne(?) though did they? I'll never understand their logic but I sure do hope it's a sign for things to come this summer. Todd
I feel bad for the rest of Australia. They got pretty boring setlists, then finally Sydney gets one of the best of 2017 so far! Just now, herewegoagain said: I sure do hope it's a sign for things to come this summer. Definitely! I'm going to two shows this summer, I'll be really bummed if they both get the same setlist. St. Jonny
Really hoping the Toronto show gets a different set since it was supposed to be a club show to start the tour before the album was released and it got cancelled and turned into a normal show. Toronto should get some special songs because of this.
LisaBJA
kinda read some posts here, that they are disspointed of the setlist because they don't really change it well I mean i'm pretty happy with the setlist: a lot of interaction with fans, awesome songs! 2 1/2 hours, always give their best on stage! awesome show! i love it! Boulevard of Brexit Dreams
I really hope WTP and Going to Pasalacqua will be played when i see them in Sheffield! Seeing Novacaine for the 1st time this tour gives me hope that Static Age or American Eulogy could make it onto he setlist

Feel sorry, really? Pretty much all Green Day songs are great live and how often they've been played before is really only one small detail that's not particularly significant when you're at the show so I can't imagine any setlist that I'd feel sorry for people seeing. I mean it's cool when they play some different songs or some songs you like a lot but I honestly don't get how that can be seen as the most important/only important thing, when you're actually there it just isn't. 40 minutes ago, LisaBJA said: kinda read some posts here, that they are disspointed of the setlist because they don't really change it well I mean i'm pretty happy with the setlist: a lot of interaction with fans, awesome songs! 2 1/2 hours, always give their best on stage! awesome show! i love it! I'm with you, they have a great standard setlist perfected over the years to be really entertaining and put on an amazing show every time, not a bad thing about it! The only other city who got back to back shows were Sydney, and they changed like 6 songs on their set list. 29 minutes ago, Hermione said: Feel sorry, really? But the fact that they couldn't even change 1 song in our 2 shows in Melbourne and then changed it by playing Burnout straight after in Brisbane, followed by that mammoth set change in Sydney last night is just fucking disappointing. I am genuinely upset - and please don't get me wrong, I am so incredibly happy for all my friends who witnessed this live. It must have been so amazing. But fuck, I am really upset and pissed off. Just speaking for myself, but when I was in the middle of the show I really didn't give two shits. I was just so caught up in the moment and the energy of the show that the fact that they didn't squeeze in some deeper cuts didn't even occur to me until the next day. I'm just glad someone recorded Too Dumb To Die when they finally did play it. The fact that it wasn't at my show doesn't matter much to me. Looking back what'll matter more is if we get a live album and/or a good soundboard rip leaks out of a later show (a la Reading 2013).

I just honestly would barely even notice if a couple of songs were different or not. I've been at shows where they've played special/rare songs and it's like whatever, it's nice but it's only one small element of the night and shows where they've played a more standard setlist were just as good. There's just so much more to the show than just the selection of songs they play y'know.

Definitely agree - except it wasn't like, 1 or 2 songs this time, and I think I am more upset because they started changing things up after they played the exact same set back to back. I'm sounding so ungrateful, and that's definitely not the case at all. I'm just venting my frustration.

I'm sure there were plenty of other things about the show that made it special/unique (like there is for every show), and it's just kind of a shame that can get forgotten when all the focus is put on the setlist. GTP39Smooth
Too Dumb To Die sounds amazing live! I hope I get to hear it in Hyde Park! I'm excited to see them again no matter what they play but when Billie screamed let's go fucking crazy and then they played the instrumental/solo part after, it gave me goosebumps! Haha 50 days and counting until Hyde Park

Yeah, I was pissed when I checked the setlist after the second show and saw it was exactly the same! I can only imagine how you feel. After seeing the setlist grow shorter and shorter this year, I was getting worried. I'm seeing them twice this summer, and one of the shows is a six hour drive away. Needless to say, I'll be a little pissed too if I drive 6 hours only to get the same setlist. So I hope this is a sign that they might change things up, or at least if they keep Novacaine, JAR, and Too Dumb to Die, I'll get to see songs that I haven't seen before. I was displeased that on the 2016 tour, they didn't bring out the sweet deep cuts like Armatage Shanks, JAR, Private Ale, Stuart & the Ave, etc until after the show I went to. I still had a great time at the show, but would've loved to see some of those songs that they played for the rest of the tour.
