Here we were last week thinking we were going to get a longer setlist:ga:

We jinxed it, hahaha.
If anything, I think maybe the second shows might?
Sydney probably will because it's the last show of the Australian leg :(

It seems a ridiculous reason - did the concert start late?

Not as far as I'm aware.
They went live on Instagram for like, a minute right on 8pm (or just a bit after) showing the lights going down and people chanting for them - so not late at all.

Then perhaps its because it was the first night of the tour.

I was there. It started just before 8pm from memory and finished at about 10:10pm. They weren't scheduled to finish until 10:30 so I don't think they dropped those 2 songs for the venue.

Maybe they were tired. Need their beauty sleep.

They got into Perth on the Tuesday and the show wasn't until Sunday, so they had a few days to get over the jet lag.

I think maybe we'll just have to get used to the shorter, more monotonous setlists. They're all getting older and possibly they think that's the way forward to put on the best possible show (I'd disagree, but I think it's futile to do so, because 1. No one from Green Day reads these threads, 2. They've presumably already made up their mind about what they want to do anyway).

Personally, it's not really the length of setlist that bothers me, it's the absolute lack of variety until now.

Again, we can maybe hope for a slightly different setlist when it comes to the places they're playing 2 days in a row and/or the places they're playing again in the summer (second European / American leg), but whatever we do, it's still the roam of speculation.

Are you so sure? Did you see HLAHG? Poor ickle Billie had his knickers in a twist because fans on a message board didn't like Warning and said he was only skinny when he was on tour etc? He definitely spends every waking minute of his life scrolling through these topics looking for compliments and crying when fans insult the trilogy... and his hair

Yeah, I've seen it, but I'm sure these days he's got better stuff to do...

Probably less than he did then. He was after all just recording American Idiot at the time!

Yeh i also think the setlist could use some moe variety... For those people who follow the revrad tour close every show get kind of predictable because of the same setlist...

Pretty much.

In reference to the comment above here, he didn't seem particularly tired/jetlagged in the videos from Perth, quite the opposite. It was the first night though, I guess they'd rather start easy and add songs towards the end. Still, overall I don't think it's realistic to expect the extreme 21CB era type sets anymore. They're obviously full of energy still but your body does change from ~35 to 45.

Side note: had to revisit clips from Awesome as Fuck now and fuuuuck would I love to see the Static Age live

I think the scheduled time is, most of the time later than the time they are expected to be done (to make sure they don't go over, and not be fined by the venue or something).

By memory, for the shows of the North American leg, the posted schedules that I saw, had them scheduled for 3 hours though they played for around 2:20-2:30 hours.

That's exactly what I mean!

I would say the energy and passion is still there, all i want is a different setlist. But look at Rolling Stones. They are in their middle 70ties and are better than ever. Imo i think that the best is still to come for GD after the AI period. Revrad was a good start...

Why do so many people seem to think they're gonna change things up when they're performing in the same city two days in a row? I'd think quite the opposite. My assumption is they added the second show for those who weren't able to go to the first one since we're talking about very big cities, therefore I think the setlist will be absolutely identical. Not that that'd be a surprise :P Am I missing something?

Tbh, for those of us that want to hear something different it's an excuse to cling on to, nothing less. As you say, it's very well possible that they'll continue to play the same setlist until the end of the tour

We are hoping not thinking they change up a few songs in Melbourne and Sydney as they are back to back nights.  Its not like we are getting a summer/winter tour etc.  This is it for us - let us have our dream:lol:

Also I did not look at the thread but how long was the Adelaide concert.

It was exactly the same as Perth, but the guards were saying that there was a curfew for Adelaide too.

We did get the very rare happy birthday song for Mike though :P
