Paola17
As I stated in the Brooklyn thread, I know we complain about KFAD, but the crowd does get into it, and since it's after "She" , it is a great way to get them amped up again. Also, despite all the complaining about the setlist (which one has slightly partaken in), it all goes out the window once you're there. I also mentioned this in the other thread, but there are around 15 songs on this setlist that weren't performed during the last arena tour, and as many have stated here, there are songs that just won't be performed live cause there is less of a chance for much of the audience to not know those works. AmyxLongview
They probably don't want to experiment with different songs because they get into a certain groove after playing the same set for a while. They most likely will make some changes for the European or 2nd American leg but as for now, I think the show is great! I don't really think it's fair to expect them to play different songs every night
RougeRogue
After my show, I have no idea why anyone is complaining about the setlist. Wtf ya'll. People want it to xhange ever night? That's an extra assload of rehearsing to do. Even when AFI did different sets each night, it was within a group of songs. You cant expect them to have everything in their catalog (a shitton of shit) live ready. Billie messes up stuff as it is (He messed up Ordinary World and something else last night) and you want him to remember even more? Come on people...think practically. gd86arg
I just want 2 or 3 differents songs each gig, and not the same opener in consecutive gigs. 3 hours ago, St. Jonny said: Just... needs...Armatage Shanks. Jeff Matika responded to a set list request on twitter a while back with something along the lines of "do you have any idea how hard it is to keep the energy of a 2+ hour show up", I'm guessing they put a lot of thought into what works and what doesn't. And yes, I've only been to the one show this year but I remember thinking immediately afterwards how weird it was they didn't play Bang Bang but then I checked back and of course they did, I just couldn't remember Also good point by @AmyxLongview, if keeping a routine makes them more comfortable on stage and have more fun then that's a good thing. It's probably different for those who are fortunate to see them many times in a short span of time, and if you follow set lists online it feels A LOT more repetitive, but really when you're there they suck you in and it all sounds awesome - especially if it's your first time. When I think back to the Green Day shows I've been to and the best things about them what songs they played barely even comes into it. If you ask me if I've seen a particular song live or not I usually have to check setlist fm because I don't remember. I've already said it but when I read this thread I'm compelled to say again that the setlist really isn't the be all and end all. Most of their songs are great live and they play them in an order/variety that makes a fun and entertaining show, so their shows are always good. I feel the same way. Obviously there are a number of songs I'd love to hear live that I've never heard before, and I'd be over the moon if they branched out more. But all of my favorite moments from shows come from the little things—their interactions with the audience, the people they bring on stage, the banter. I just have fun watching them. They could play anything. I also fully acknowledge that it's not their fault I want to see them over and over and over (well, it kinda is, lol). For most people, this is their first and maybe their last Green Day show. They need to play for THEM, not for me. I'll always be around. They need to make it special for the folks who might never have the opportunity to see them again.
NOVAGD
Green Day puts on amazing shows regardless of what they play. However, it would be nice to see some variety. So far on this US arena tour, they haven't changed one song night in and night out. I don't ever recall them ever doing that in touring in support of any of their new albums albums. I don't think anyone is asking for them to completely overhaul the setlist/show, but it would be nice to sub in different songs each show...for example: Slot for Youngblood - Bouncing off the Wall/Too Dumb too Die Slot for 2000 Light Yrs away - Holden/Razorbacks/Android/Private Ale/One of my lies Slot for Hitchin a Ride - Haushinka/Nice Guys/Worry Rock/Jinx/The Grouch Slot for Burnout - Coming Clean/Having a Blast/Emenius Sleepus/FOD/Pulling Teeth Slot for Are We the Waiting - Anything from Insomniac or 1039 smooth or anything from the Trilogy Slot for Good Riddance during Encore - Whatsername/Macys Day Parade Add Dirty Rotten Bastards in the setlist somewhere All the staples throughout the show could remain the same, such as KFAD, bringing fans on stage, etc. Minor changes like this would go a long way, and each show wouldn't feel so redundant and each city would have a "unique" show. stories and songs
That's a good point, @NOVAGD . I think if they left even just one or two open slots for random songs, that would go a long way. I understand there's a method to their madness and they know how to keep the audience pumped the whole time, but those suggestions would still make people very, very happy. I was actually thinking it would be pretty awesome if they could cut off Holiday at the "outlaws" bit and then go into the song Outlaws, and cut Hitchin off at the "troubled times" part of the chorus and go into Troubled Times. Mash 'em up!

Please, someone bring this to the attention of somebody of the Green Day team or maybe even a band member. Please, make them see this, this is what fans would appreciate and it wouldn't dissapoint occasional fans either, because as you say, they could keep all the staples. I'll say it again, please, someone bring this to the band's attention, I beg you!

St. Jonny
Yeah, that would be pretty insane if they'd open with Welcome To Paradise. Paradise really. It's so killer when bands open with a classic like that. If they aren't going to open with Bang Bang anyway. KYE requires like no effort while Welcome To Paradise requires significantly more effort from everybody, but it would get the crowd going insane right away even more. The opening of the show would be the heaviest and toughest part with WTP followed by Bang Bang but they could always do KYE after Bang Bang as an arm relaxer. gd86arg
Besides KYE, I would love as opener: Going to Pasalacqua Welcome to Paradise Armatage Shanks Nice Guys Finish Last Minority American Idiot 21st Century Breakdown 99 Revolutions Bang Bang Revolution Radio

SuperXCsabre495
Okay I'm gonna basically take back anything what I've said about the setlist, they kicked so much ass. So much more energy than the 2 shows I went to on the 99 Revs tour.
St. Jonny
Now there is Johnny B Goode instead of Scattered. I really don't know why they took Scattered out, I was dying to see that shit! Johnny B Goode is killer but to take out an original? Caaa'mon!

Hermione
I saw FBHT play Johnny B Goode and it was awesome. I do love Scattered and was really pleased to see it live last month but I'd like to see them covering that again even more because it's so cool. Plus it's a nice tribute. I'd say they could swap it with an AI song instead since they play over half that album at every show but we all know that won't happen

Meliciraptor
I think that was just a one time thing. They got some press for doing it which is always great for a band.
St. Jonny
Johnny B Goode has replaced it. There will be no Scattered for the rest of this leg for sure! It's dumb because it is cool but seeing a band cover a song by a guy who just passed is not as cool to me as hearing a rare song the band wrote that I have listened to and played a billion times in the last 20 years. They sure as hell don't need press and the cover is like 2 minutes or something, no reason to ditch Scattered. As Lannister said, cannot support that no matter how big of a Chuck Berry fan I was, I am a much bigger Nimrod fan in the end!
