Sorry to disappoint you, but I think it was because of my Troubled-Times-sign at the Cologne show :ga: I'm sure their conversation before the Amsterdam gig went like this:

Billie: Hey guys, remember that pretty girl yesterday in Cologne in the second row with that Troubled Times-sign?
Mike&Tré: Hell, yeah!
Billie: Let's play that shit tonight, all right?
Mike&Tré: All right!

I'm absolutely sure that's what it was. I can live with this theory

Or they just smoked some fine Amsterdam weed.

Delighted to hear they played Troubled Times! It's so relevant right now, I hope they keep it in the setlist for the UK shows next week :ga:

I'd love to hear in Paris (just modified a bit MilleniumFan's setlist that I like) :

(I took account of the different tuning they use, for example I didn't put a standard tuning song in the middle of old songs which are tuned a half step down)

I'd also add a triologie track, I mean a special track where they play a different song from the triology at each show, it would be a nice idea

Bang Bang

Revolution Radio

Know Your Enemy

Holiday

Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Letterbomb

East Jesus Nowhere

Troubled Times

Static Age

Hitchin A Ride

2000 Light Years Away

Brain Stew

Nice Guys Finish Last

Who Wrote Haulden C.

When I Come Around

Longview

Basket Case

Welcome to Paradise

She

Are We The Waiting

St. Jimmy

Homecoming or Bouncing Off The Wall (iwhich must be awesome live)

(King for A Day)  and all the covers

Minority

Still Breathing

Forever Now

1. Encore

American Idiot

Jesus of Suburbia

2. Encore

Redundant acoustic

Ordinary World

Wake me Up When September Ends

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

Troubled Times is a boring song. Why the hell would you play it over Bouncing off the Walls?

Bouncing off the Walls is soooooooooo much better

Because Troubled Times is so fucking beautiful

I don't defend the idea to play it instead of BOTW though

If we are choosing between tracks for this conversation here, I agree that Bouncing Off The Wall is better. More lively, just as much truth, better solo and would be even less boring live too. I love Troubled Times too but that is my opinion. "it's just another day of idle threats...the secret alphabet, I wouldn't sweat it, everybodys bouncing off the walls" is a line I have been living by lately. At first I didn't think much of the lyrics but after well over a hundred or so listens I love the lyrics and I always enjoy the song more than Troubled Times. This whole album is just great actually.

Feels like I may have hit a lot more listens than that. Probably a couple hundred at this point. Yeah, couple times a day some days.

So glad they added another new song to the live show!  Troubled Times was always one of my least favorites from RevRad but I've got to say, the lyric video made me change my mind somehow.  Now, I'm listening to this one more and skipping over the ones I've played into the ground.

So now they just need to pull out Say Goodbye, Outlaws, Bouncing off the Wall and of course Too Dumb to Die.

I don't think they will but hey.   We just got Troubled Times so who knows?

The problem is, BOTW is really similar to the show opener KYE. My vote goes to Troubled Times for the power and cause it's just epic live. :)

Wow, I didn't think of that, I just kind of randomly threw together tracks and grouped them more or less according to era and just hoped it could be done (which tbh I am sure Green Day could pull it of somehow if they wanted to).

And thanks for adding more 21st BD songs as well, I also think it lacks a few, although I left them out due to how long the setlist would be in the end (it was already at 34 songs with mine). I also like the placement of Troubled Times, since it has a 21CB vibe to it.

There are only two things that bother me slightly:

1. I think with the Redundant acoustic version thrown into the second encore it might be slightly too much, as much as I love that song. I'd much rather drop it and then add a Young Blood / Bouncing of the Wall choice, somewhere before or after the old songs, since they are both short, high energy songs and could easily alternated from show to show. I also don't think Bouncing of the Wall should ever be swapped with Homecoming, they're just two really different songs :) If there's some way to throw in a non-acoustic version of Redundant somewhere else in the setlist, I'd be thrilled, if not, I wouldn't mind either.

2. Personally, I'm not so keen on ''Static Age'', it always reminds too much of Church on Sunday, so I'd choose a different song, though I wouldn't really mind it.

Other than that, I really like the setlist!

"I can't see a thing in the video" - "If I promise to go to church on Sunday"

Same chord progression, never noticed that... Thanks. :)

The problem with Troubled Times is that it sounds something like 10 year old Joey Armstrong wrote when his dad was releasing American Idiot and was just trying to live up to him.

What I'd do to hear Church On Sunday live now is ridiculous. Never really got the Static Age comparisons, maybe it is a little similar but only the rhythm. It is NOT the same chord progression.

Actually it is exactly the same chord progression, but not in the same tone (which is used a lot by Green Day btw)

Church on Sunday is A D E A

Static Age is B E F# B translated in C and then in D

The only live version of Static Age I've seen so far is the Awesomeas F**k version with Jason's saxo solo, and it gave me the chills. I love those songs with a very long chorus with choirs in the end (such has Forever Now which might have become my favorite GD song ever). I indeed reckon the setlists need more 21st songs as the album was one f their bests according to me

Troubled Time and Bouncing MUST be played live, especially Bouncing with has a perfect tempo for the crowd to jump

I agree with you for the Homecoming stuff though, I hesitated to put it AND Bouncing but Homecoming is a 9 min song and it's as if it was casually 2 or 3 songs

Concerning the tuning stuff, well, I hadn't really thought of that until they started the european tour and I took a look at their setlists. I noticed that there's always a part, in the middle of the show, where they play all the old stuff and Billie uses's Blue. All those songs have a flat tuning so it's no wonder they're all played together. (By the way, I see them in Paris on Friday and my dream would be to be pulled on stage and play Longview (which is far from being my favorite song) and then ask to play Forever Now. But this is not the same tuning and I know they've planned it for the end of the show with pyrotechnics animations. So I'm still hesitating to ask, although it's wishfull thinking to be pulled on stage for Longview haha)

And please don't mind my english, this is not my mother tongue :)

I love both Troubled Times and Bouncing off the Wall.  So, they can keep TT and replace Youngblood with BOTW.  Problem solved.

Hell yeah !

Youngblood is ok for me, I wasn't satisfied with this song but I saw videos and I have to admit that it's badass live, the tempo is perfect for the crowd and there are two very good live moments (when he sings "We'll shot the moon into the sun, Oh yeah" and "Fuck you I'm from Oakland !")

I have to say, I thought Know Your Enemy wasn't a good opener, but after I saw them in Amsterdam yesterday, I realised it is a great opener for a Green Day show, it's really energetic, and the crowd loved it as a opener.

As I mentioned before, I think they should alternate between Youngblood and BOTW from show to show. The songs are of similar length and they are both fast, high energy songs. I personally prefer BOTW as well, but I know there are people who like Youngblood, so it's a compromise.

I feel like Bouncing off the walls is an appropriate song for a green day concert. That would be a lot of fun to dance to. they should also play somewhere now and have it transition into forever now as if one long song at the end of the main set.

I haven't been keeping up on this thread, so I dunno if it's been discussed or not, but in regards to them playing Christie Road live on this tour, it kinda bums me out that they cut the song short. in my opinion they're cutting out the best part of it! I'd rather see them play Who Wrote Holden Caulfield or One of My Lies anyways

I like BOTW a lot but I feel like it would be better in a smaller venue, with it being the most kind of garagey FBHT/Dos style song. Troubled Times is so relevant right now that it really needs to be played.
