PursuitOfEpicness
This song is so haunting and I really like it. It really conveys the fear we live in right now.
TimmyChunks
After my first full listen to the album today, this is the one that was in my head, the song I had to go back to immediately to get to know better. This is everything about the Green Day I've loved...just so awesome in many ways. And yes, I immediately caught the "Holiday" vibe. I don't really know much about whether current radio, etc. does "singles" per se as I knew them in the '90's, but if so, this one is a standout single to me. I've already mentioned Holiday, it's definitely at the same level and deserves serious recognition. Awesome song.
Maid Meringue
This is the saddest track on the album to me. "This is how we..... say a prayer for the ones that we love, say goodbye to the ones that we love" It's a grieving song. In context, it's about how a group of people mourn the loss of someone in the community, but it's also about trying to process a system that enables things like this to happen in the first place. It's not "nostalgic sad" like Outlaws, it's "fearful sad" which i think hits even harder.
Minority103
This is totally one of my favourite song of the album, love at first hearing as it was fot Outlaws and Forever Now
JardyOfSuburbia
It reminds me of East Jesus Nowhere and Holiday. Not the best song on the record, but one I can't seem to get out of my head.
JOE THE X-KID
Possibly my favourite track on the album next to somewhere now. Love how "violence on the rise" is sung
Sanity Loan
I'm having a hard time understanding this track. After the intro and opening, the transition into "Violence on the rise..." is a bit awkward and seems out of place. It almost feels like I skipped ahead in the song and missed out on a verse and another chorus. Where are the verses? It's just a strangely structured song and it's bugging me, holding me back from liking it. HOWEVER, I love the sound. The guitars are deep and dirty, the drums are different, and the double-tracked and panned vocals are fun.
RevaRad
I'm a bit late to the party here, since I got the album yesterday! Say Goodbye has to be my favorite song out of the album yet. I was completely surprised when it came on as it was such a change from Revolution Radio. I loved the heavy, grittier sound and I bet Mike had a great time with the bass. I was stressed when I put the album on and the heavy bass was just what I needed wow this was a long post...
Sixtrix
Maybe I need to check the album out on a better sound system, but to me the vocals on Say Goodbye seemed to be mixed much lower into the mix compared to the other tracks. I had the same with Forever Now. Apart from that, Say Goodbye was one of the first songs from the new album to get stuck in my head. Not sure if I really love the lyrics, but the melody is really good.
DannyDirnt
To me, this song has "arab spring" written all over it. Also about the emmigrants, when it goes "kindred spirits sing/for the sick and suffering/the city of damage control". It kind of analyses the whole situation, about people in general being so upset about them in Europe and the countries basically leaving each other holding the baby. The guitars all felt like they were overwhelming everything else in the recording, including the vocals. Listening to it on my stereo now, I can hear *everything*, including the lovely harmonies in this song (though I agree with all who said it is very repetitive). dudley dawson
Anyone notice the similarity to Viva La Gloria with "Please God have mercy on my soul" vs "The light that shadows in the night"?
Met Fan
I'm glad other people get the Holiday vibe out of this too, I was listening to it earlier and thought to myself the similarities are definitely not musical as far as I'm concerned, they're the feel of bitter loss that looms over a song that makes a strong statement lyrically yet musically not depressing, it's a very unique mix that connects the two songs IMO. Misterglasshalfempty
I'm really getting more and more a holiday-meets-viva-la-gloria vibe from this monster of a song.
Nowhere Man
This song is catchy as fuck. The first thing I start to sing while getting on the mood of singing is "Say Goodbye to the ones that we love" even without direct intention. One of the most catchiest things GD have ever written, not joking.
EastCaitNowhere
I also am a fan of this song - it sounds like EJR mixed with something i cant quite put my finger on. I love the 'this is how we', and how it almost sounds like it was sung with gritted teeth. it gives me frustration - and i absolutely love it. I definitely feel the Holiday vibe, too! And since Holiday is one of my all-time-favourites, I immediately fell in love with Say Goodbye while listening to the Howard Stern interview where they included a small part of it into Holiday. That sounded so great and shows that the songs are somehow related. I do hope they will play both songs in full length though.
platypus136
The melody is definetly catching... I like this one:D This part sounds to me like, he didn´t have a better rhyme X) ,,Teach your children well, from the bottom of the well " But ok. This is no criticism. He was referencing the well water situation in Flint, Michigan but yeah it kinda bugs me too. But I really love this song. It's my favorite on the album that I listen to over and over again. tdlyon
This song is kind of just a chorus repeated over and over but it's still super catchy and I love how heavy it is
Second favourite son
Bits of this almost remind me of The Seekers (it's a good thing), but I can't quite put my finger on why.
Spike
Ok, it's starting to grow on me. It's been stuck in my head for days, and I do like the lyrics. Shame it's an inferior rehash of East Jesus Nowhere on the whole, though.

Stefano Bras
At first listen, this one really weirded me out, very unexpected and I don't see how some people compare it to Holiday. After a couple listens it really grew on me tho, It's gonna be a good one to hear live.
