03 - Revolution Radio

Second favourite son

I think it's a solid song. It's classic green day, nothing that really catches you off guard, but really good nonetheless.

I'm just digging their sound so much though. :) I can't help but wonder what some trilogy songs would be like with this sound (and a little more attention).

I like it! I think the chorus is definitely the strongest aspect of it, the melody is awesome. I definitely like Bang Bang more... these lyrics just feel a little recycled/lacking direction. But we all know that sometimes Billie doesn't even understand his own lyrics hahah ;)

Finally found the download, huzzah! This one takes time to grow on you. On first listen I really wasn't sure about it, but now I've listened to it a couple times and absolutely love it. That's a super catchy, fun chorus. The kind of song I can't wait to hear live.

It sounds very...Green Day. Much like Bang Bang, it sort of mixes the best parts of them together. It gives me Static Age vibes.

Just another reminder that you can't use this thread to ask people to PM you download links.

"We will be seen but not be heard" makes no sense when talking about "Revolution Radio." Though I suppose it could be in reference to protestors being seen on screen, but the media twisting their message.

The lyrics in the written form are Trilogy-like. Is it good?

it's normal. the guitar solo is cool . it's not so different from some songs in trilogy. It reminded me of Rusty James

Don't go to the dark side!

This made me smile, really hoping it's true.

It's about protestors. Billie Joe is saying that the protestors are seen protesting but no one listens. But going along with your theory about being on a screen, the news outlets don't actually let you hear what they're chanting/what their message is, thus they're not heard.

I think it means that they are being perceived but not understood.

I can hear some Rusty James in it, for sure. Out of the trilogy it sounds most like Uno, which overall sounds the most "classic Green Day" to me of those three albums. I think it's a lot like Bang Bang. It's a little bit dark, and mixes their older and newer sounds. It's really, really good. The more I listen to it, the more it makes my heart a little fluttery.

sonically a bit similar , but i meant the vibe of it. I don't wanna make you disappointed later , you should listen to it .  i say don't wait for Oct 7th ,cause it's not so different than what you expect from lyrics. just listen to it:lol:

I'm definitely waiting til it's released, but I think that'll be before October 7th.  Wouldn't be surprised if it was released tomorrow to coincide with tour dates, or within the next week, especially since it's been leaked now.

^ Believe that was Troubled Times.

I think Billie's style of singing in this song is what's most reminiscent of Rusty James.

Agree it'll be leaked before the tour starts. The concerts will be lacking some energy if no one in the audience knows the new songs yet!

For those who think the chorus is confusing/makes no sense, here is my interpretation:

"We are revolution radio" - Giving themselves a name/name for their movement.

"In the headline, my love's bullet proof" - News outlets often report on the persistence of protest groups.

"Give me cherry bombs and gasoline" - Common tools used by protestors (usually violent ones) to get their point across.

"Dead guitars and surgery" - I interpret this as 'dead guitars' meaning they don't have an amplified voice, like an electric guitar that is not plugged in; 'surgery' meaning their message is getting twisted/altered.

"In the headline, we call lies the truth" - Pretty easy here.... media twisting things.

I really liked it.

Sounds like Rusty James meets Nimrod meets brand new Green Day sound.

EDIT: Forget about what I said, I don't like it.

I absolutely LOVE it, I can totally imagine this being played live.

but isn't surgery a medical operation and since the word "and" connects the words together , what is the relation between "dead guitars" and "surgery" .

but some of your interpretations helped me understand more.

I realized I'm the only one who don't like revrad but, frankly, I'm happy that other fans are impressed and don't grumble about vocal filter and overproduction :D
