03 - Revolution Radio

Second favourite son

What I'm learning today: Surprisingly, I don't follow enough Green Day fans on social media. Or at least not pirating ones

Solid song. I really like the intro, the verses and the solo. The chorus sounds a bit missplaced. Bang Bang is way better in my opinion but this is definitely not a bad song.

Of course I find this out as soon as I get to work. This is going to be the longest day ever.

i agree the chorus was the weakest part of the song.  Maybe it'll grow, but it's very similar to the stuff on Uno, and the rest of the song kinda clashes with that lighter tone.  But I've only heard it once (will listen more during my free periods today)

I'm useless at finding leaks on the interwebs, but now I'm listening to a lovely demo version of 21CB I stumbled upon so I'm ok.

Ahh, I remember that demo! It came out super early, like 2008 I think. I was 16 and had no self control. :tired:

I don't think it is that different from Bang Bang.  However, I do think it will have more cross over appeal.  I can see this song charting on some pop charts more than bang bang.  It is definitely a solid song but I personally like Bang Bang better

I actually really like vocal filters. I'm guessing they wanted the vocals to sound like they were coming through the radio? /speculating as if I've heard the song

This is only the second song from the album btw, give them a chance :P

It only concerns me that the album is going to be overproduced. I really don't like such a vocal filter. Trilogy to me would have been much better without sterile sounding. After first listening of revrad I thought to myself it sounds like umpteen sweet-hardcore pop-punk songs but I listen to revrad all the time and it's getting better though I'm not impressed. It really fits into 21st CB that I really like. Is somebody here that dislike 21st CB album and love that song?

Me, because it sounds nothing like 21st CB :P

And fuck all of you who don't like the chorus. The chorus is the best part of the song.

So the song gives me serious Big Red Gun (Billy Talent) vibes and the chorus reminds me of the better songs on Uno.

The more I listen to it the better it sounds but I can't help but think the overall tone clashes a bit during the track, as the chorus sounds too upbeat for the rest of the track.  It's still good regardless.

I like it! Not my favorite but it's catchy for sure. I've listened to it twice and it's already stuck in my head.

this is like the perfect second single. Catchy for sure, but it doesn't really hold a candle to Bang Bang, lets be honest here.

I'm liking this album, guys.

do you guys think the revrad song will reach many people in the world (via radio media etc) .. bang bang did very well, but is kinda "too punk" for the public mainstream masses imo

I think it's suitable for MTV Rocks. They love hardcore pop-punk songs :D

There's a difference between overproduced and poorly produced.  I'm hoping it's neither.
