Second favourite son

This won't happen cause it's not Bang Bang. This song is awesome. This song is exactly what I wanted. No static sounds, lyrics that make sense, guitar solo and a chorus that is catchy.

Just cause you don't understand lyrics, doesn't mean they make no sense. And it's just your opinion that the chorus isn't catchy. I think it is catchy. And how does a few seconds of static at the start of a song make it bad?

It's the little things that ruin that song. The intro to Bang Bang is completely unnecessary. Compare that to the awesome intro of Revolution Radio. The chorus in Bang Bang comes way to late. It's also not catchy at all, while the chorus in RR is so awesome. The lyrics in BB are just a few phrases put together, there's no flow. RR lyrics build up the song till the chorus. Compared to RR, BB chorus sounds weak because the verse is all over the song.

This has grown on me a lot since first listen. I've had it on repeat for the last half hour. Starting to really like it. Can't wait for the album!

I've noticed some people "complaining" that the guitars are too loud. To those I say; it's Green Day, and the guitars are supposed to be fucking loud.  People might not be used to that, and I think the trilogy is to blame, but listen to Insomniac and tell med those aren't some loud guitars! Btw, still loving this song :runaround:

Yeah it's a great song. Kinda took the sting out of missing out on tickets for the Boston show.

Man that song is so fucking good. The guitars sound so crunchy! It's like Rise Against joined them for 21stCB (which they actually did on tour :D) I really tried to resist listening to it but i just could not... #worthit #fanboylifestyle

I always kinda snicker at the people who say 'This song sounds like this one' but after reading through most of the thread, I'm surprised nobody mentioned the similarities to 'extrodinary girl' in the versus.. Unless I missed it.

I've seen people saying that on the YouTube video. Not here though

Anyone i repeat anyone who has a problem with loud guitars needs to go listen to some pop music then.  I want loud guitars because uh i listen to rock music and i want to hear every single instrument incorporated in the song.  That's like saying I don't want to hear metaphors in political hip hop.  They go hand in hand.

Just learnt it now, can definitely see the comparisons to extraordinary girl but only because of the guitar chords, there's nothing outright similar to the vocal melody on it. At least from my perspective.

I think it's less the loudness of the guitars and more the fact the vocals are drowned out a bit by them.

the sound is way better than on the trilogy. but it doesn't come close to the insomniac sound. this was their best sound in my opinion. a loud distorted guitar sound, but no wall of sound with 20 guitar tracks. the bass sound was so fucking good too. that annyos me about the RR sound... i have a hard time to hear the bass at all.

insomniac sounded so natural and warm. the trilogy sounded dry. revolution radio sounds cold.

Don't listen to it then, RR sounds awesome. Guitars are meant to sound like that, there's nothing that screams energy and urgency more than loud as fuck guitars.

Hm this song sounds like a b-side from 21st century breakdown

The shout of "legalise the truth" always reminds me of the way "private suicide" is shouted in Lights Out.

I am getting worried because it seems like every time I listen to this song, it seems quieter and quieter to me. Either I am losing my hearing, or I am losing my rock n roll soul

Is it just me or is it weird that they sing "Truth" for legalize the truth on beat one of the next measure? They seem to hold it an extra half a beat.  The third time right before the outro they don't do it.  I'm basically saying I feel like the way they sing it the 3rd time it should be for the other 2.  I've gotten used to it now the way it is, but it seemed odd the first couple of listens.
