My RevRad expectations from after Bang Bang to after Revolution Radio (song):

For me, that was my expectations from after Bang Bang to after finding out Ordinary World was on the album

Now, my expectations are back up with this song. I hope none of the rest of the songs sound like Ordinary World, that is the most 'meh' song they've ever done

It's okay. I really hate the way he sings "headline", but I'm still excited for the album.

Edit: I have to say, I've listened to it eleven times and enjoyed it a little bit less each time

I think I'm falling in love with it. I don't know if it's more AI-ish, 21CB-ish, Trilogy-ish, Insomniac-ish or whatever... it's just an amazing Green Day song and listening to it in sequence after Bang Bang it's just fucking amazing. Has someone already transcribed the lyrics?

God I've just about given my computer AIDS trying to find this. Found a shitty mono instrumental track and a 10 second clip from the song

I'm the same all I could find was an 8 second clip. I give up! Lol

So I don't like this song and that makes me a bad person, @Matt. Here we go with this again. I was just hoping for a rawer, harder album. Now we get this poppy song and Ordinary World, both of which sound like Billie didn't learn from the Trilogy.

It's crazy how different people's opinion are about the title track.

I'm sorry but what? This sounds NOTHING like Insomniac. Chimey vocals, poppy guitars, and a melody based solo is the exact opposite of what Insomniac was. This song is suuuppperrr poppy.

Putting juniors and marshalls in the same category as "poppy guitars"......lol

And like it or not, from '39 smooth to RevRad (INCLUDING YOUR FAV TRILOGY), It's Green Day.

The points in this song where the riffs overpower the song is exactly what insomniac songs had...just go relisten to Stuart and the Ave

You know, the album has 10 more songs.

Well 9 more. We've heard Bang Bang, RevRad and Ordinary World now. Although I'm hoping OW sounds vastly different/better on the album

Here's what I know for sure: I, personally, love both new singles leaps and bounds more than I ever loved Know Your Enemy, and 21CB is overall a brilliant album in my eyes. I am VERY confident I'll love RevRad as a whole. I have the best feeling about this album.

The only time you comment on something is to speak negatively about it. And then you get into pointless arguments with other members about it, cluttering up the thread.

Bang Bang is not exactly a soft song. He was talking about "harder" sound.

So you can't just pick elements of songs and albums and say "this song has it too so they're the same." A song has many elements and this sounds NOTHING like Stuart and the Ave or any of Insomniac, even though it has some similar elements.

I didn't like 21stCB (the album) for weeks until I heard it live. Now it's in my top 3 records. I haven't heard the instrumentals yet but I'm unsatisfied by the lyrics. So I'm hoping that it grows on me.

Honestly they could fart in a booth for 3 minutes and I'd still buy the recording of it.

Maybe it's just my really shitty compressed fake "wav" version of the song, but I just find it kind of grating.

Just learned some of the song on guitar, actually pretty similiar to Bang Bang in playing style :P

Is he using octaves on the intro?  I have a really shitty ear, but it sounds like he might be

?? I've been praising literally everything about RevRad so far. I loved Bang Bang. I loved all the interviews. When have I been negative about any of this new stuff?

I agree with you there, I wasn't advocating that either. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with analyzing the pieces to make this beauty and having your own opinion of where GD has used it before

I'll say again that I really love the chorus. What do you all thing of the callback vocals in this song and in Bang Bang? Why the sudden use?
