GenXIdiot
YES I'm so excited about this song. It's absolutely perfect. It's going to go to #1 and this album is going to be their next AI, I can feel it, the song is THAT GOOD. I love the guitar tones, that beautiful wall of crusty goodness! Billie Joe's singing is at his very best and his voice sounds powerful and natural in the production. ! Tre's drumming and Mike's bass work are superb. The construction of the song is perfection, with all the creative breakdowns and that incredible bridge in the harmonic minor. The back up "Hey's" were perfect in because they were imperfect. It's a quintessential kick ass Green Day song, with every element that makes them the best band out there: lyrics, music, instruments, singing, song arrangement, everything!

The movie was pretty trash but it would have been a no-brainer. It even has the whole "daddy's little psycho" thing which is on every hot topic t-shirt right now from the movie. I'm glad they didn't sell themselves like that.

Siddharth_471
Great song! Some totally killer riffs over there. Really great how they decided to self-produce this time, Mike took lessons and drums are sounding good too. 1 minute ago, xXRustyJamesXx said: why the fuck is billie playing a SG-shaped Bass hahahahaahahah Gibson SG guitar and he did said, his influence was Jimmy Page for the record. Popular Post Chanderson
Personally, it has a mix of American Idiot and Insomniac to my ear. It's just amazing, and this is going to be an amazing year of music and live shows.
grannysox69
anyone know where the music from the q+a vid on the rolling stone article is from? it'd be apt to use music from the new album, and i'd kinda love if it was. edit: just realized looking some other similar RS videos that it's probably generic music created for the article by the site. oooh well. solongfromthestars
Ahhh I love this more each time I listen to it! The lyrics are incredible, I loved the trilogy but it's nice to see Billie writing at the 21CB level again. I especially love the fame references (I have a concept-of-fame-obsession and am writing my dissertation on it so YES) and the "give me death or give me head" line is perfect. Can't form totally coherent sentences right now but in short IT'S SO GOOD. And I'm so glad I waited to hear it on the radio with everyone else Got to give it to Virgin Radio UK for making it fun.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
It gets better every single time I listen to it. This is so different from when KYE was released! That song was like "oh great it's a new GD song!! So excited for it! Eh hmm it's well, mmmmmh, well it's alright, it's catchy" and then a great album followed it. With this song, I have only sort of followed the proceedings and rumours of a new album and went into it with low expectations, but it's blown me out of the water and just keeps growing on me. Can't wait to hear what they have in store for us in the rest of the album.
Popular Post Hermione
Just listened to it OMG!!!!!!! It's wonderful! And it's both serious/political AND kind of personal, fun and even a bit saucy, was wondering which it would be but turns out to be the best of everything. Love all the excellent one liners in there and the drum bit! A really bold song and grade A first single.

Hermione
Also the lyric video is so awesome! I risked the first listen/watch with my nephew because I couldn't wait (luckily nothing too unsuitable) and he liked it too

The guitars are so Kerplunk/1,039 with a bit of a modern feel. And then you add Trilogy vocals with a bit of that "old school" filter and you get Bang Bang. Doesn't sound anything like Nimrod to me.
