Billie Hoe
I've said it before but I think the song will climb the charts faster after their music video is released and their label actually has something new and exciting to promote Anybody have a clue when that's gonna happen, btw?

Popular Post Beerjeezus
I'm probably in the minority here but I do like the lack of promotion. It's more laid back this time and I really don't mind it. I don't need my music to be advertised like washing powder, tampons or Coca Cola. I'm ok with this being low-key. I think Warner isn't putting so much into promotion in order to avoid another over-hyped flop like Trilogy. If revrad doesn't do very well, it won't look so blatantly like a failure the way Trilogy did, because the way they promote it isn't really promising anything (eg. compare the way they bragged about the Trilogy with the fact that this time they haven't brought out the cliche "this album is our best" at all). My guess is that the video will come out somewhat closer to the release date so BB bounces back.

I don't mind the lack of promotion now, as long as it picks a bit up in the run-up to the album release. If it stays this quiet beyond mid-late September then I'll start getting worried, cos that would say to me that the band themselves don't have much faith in their music and don't want to promote it.

I agree with you about how they started the promotion, they were doing a very good job of social media marketing. However, what you don't want, from a marketing standpoint, is to lose momentum. They were successful very quickly and didn't have any additional promotion to keep that momentum going. It is much easier to stay on top then to try and climb back up. Now it is really too soon to tell, but the lack of promotion after the initial release is surprising. That does not mean the record will not be a success and I'm not saying it won't. I'm simply saying that usually there is a promotion plan after a release to keep the momentum going. Also, what the hell is washing powder?

If you're too exposed to something that's not yet on sale (the album) you may be habituated to the promotion and ignore it by the time the product is available to buy. But if we're gonna talk about album promotion it's probably more suited to this thread:

I doubt you guys would ignore the album when it comes out if Bang Bang was everywhere. I swear some of the things being said here is silly! Yeah, I wish they would do at least a few promotional shows and TV appearances during Sepember. I suppose this will be a part of 'second leg' of the promo together with the music video/second single. 23 minutes ago, JJ1964 said: I agree with you about how they started the promotion, they were doing a very good job of social media marketing. Also, what the hell is washing powder? You're right about this. They are keeping it low now...They really should get out and play bb live to keep the song going now, that's the least they can do. Do you have a different word for it or you don't have laundry in the US?

Maybe it was wrong, I don't know, I'm not a music industry marketing expert. But it was based on the simple neuropsychological process of habituation. If something goes on for a very long time, even if it is high intensity, people will start to notice it less. If they've made people aware of it, then toned it down, people will notice an explosive campaign in the weeks before the album release much more than if there's been an explosive campaign going on consistently for over 2 months. I'm not saying don't employ massive marketing; I'm saying you need to time it right when you do.

rockmanx37
Awesome! #1 Mainstream in BB is more than good news. I'm really happy for these guys. And thats because i think its not so easy to get in a BB chart nowadays with so many popular artists around there. Bang Bang is doing amazing.

James11693
I love the song but I still can't figure out the point of it. What are the viewers supposed to get out if it? Just that the shooters pyscho? Just nothing to relate to or anything. I'm still wondering why someone would put themselves in the mind of the shooter in the first place. But for some reason, I still like the song, even after saying all of that lol
