I actually like 99 Revs live, mix that in with a few of the better Trilogy songs and I think it could work well.

Stay the Night and Brutal Love should stay. I doubt they'll play more than four trilogy songs, given the amount of previous material + all the new tracks from RevRad they'll be performing. They have so many great songs to choose from and with an expected focus on some well-loved Insomniac classics like Walking Contradiction and Armatage Shanks, the Trilogy will undoubtedly feature less prominently.

99 Revs Strychnine Twitches would be a better song. I should write it now haha 

It's not bad but I'm not a fan of that song. It was a great closer but I'm not sure if they made a good choice opening with it

When did they close with it? I think it worked as an opener, but it could work either way.

I'd trade more trilogy for more of insomniac any day. I'd be very disappointed if they didn't keep Brutal Love and STN. Missing You should stay too.

At Irving Plaza. I watched the whole thing once and it felt really natural - closing with a simple sing-along.

I saw it as a closer at shepherds bush in August 2012. I think they played it as a closer on that promo tour before the albums were out.

Yep. Billie had laryngitis  Well not really but that's what Tre said. They were really late taking the stage. In fact we were even really late being let in and then still had to wait forever.  Billie later told Kerrang he was "being a diva" but ultimately we found out in 2013 in the Rolling Stone interview that there was a fuss that day and their manager wanted Billie to fly home and go to rehab there and then but he wanted to play Reading first. Still a fantastic setlist though.

Without a doubt it would be incredible if they went deeper into Insomniac on the next tour- a little bit of Westbound and Stuart, right? One can dream...

Bringing it back to BB, I'm sure you've all noticed the heavy fade/ phaser effect during the bridge (it's a sonic fade during the hard power chord portion of the bridge after it picks back up). I don't have any effects/ pedals that create this guitar effect. Is this a mixing element or something that was recorded into the box through a pedal phaser? Curious as to what the tech/ sonic savvy folks here might say. I think it was added in after the fact but am interested in knowing whether this is the case.

Also, I am still very interested in dissecting the mix overall. Billie's vocals are still Trilogy to me, and the instrumentation mix and tone is drastically different. Do you guys agree?

Lastly, I hear a "swirl" effect bridging the last two chorus segments of the song- during the second to last "soldier" there's a massive swirl/ swooping effect to the guitar which seems to have been an added element to the mix- perhaps some dual tracking. It sounds awesome and this segment is my favorite part of the song- the "lift" it generates is a great high gear kick into the final chorus. Do you hear this as well?

Cause the price for CDs are a lot higher in Japan so labels usually throw on bonus tracks be it new songs or live songs

I read that BANG BANG hit number one on the UK Rock charts and is climbing all 12 rock charts.    This song is on course to become one of their biggest hits yet and is already at least their 11th most successful single, that's great!

I read it on Wikipedia.  I know it's not always accurate but I like their attention to detail when it comes to musicians.   Here's all of Green Day's number one songs:

   JAR, the Saints are Coming, Know Your Enemy, BANG BANG, Holiday, American Idiot, Basketcase, Longview, Minority, When I Come Around, Boulevard of Broken Dreams.   BANG BANG is definitely holding its own even surrounded by such good company.   BANG BANG might just end up being a staple for the band.

Wow- as far as first singles go, Hitchin' A Ride and Geek Stink Breath didn't make the cut? And overall singles...no Good Riddance or Brain Stew? From what I remember obviously Good Riddance and Brain Stew were huge- and for lead singles, Hitchin A Ride had more buzz than BB in the States, anyway. Not that it means anything-  BB is a better song than Hitchin'- but I am surprised it is already more popular given how huge and well received on radio Hitchin' was at the time.
