02 - Bang Bang

I heard Bang Bang on the local rock radio station this morning. I was so excited! I don't normally listen to the radio that often but just happened to turn it on hoping they would play it and after about 45 min. they did.

It's on television. Finally!

It sounded  like that was on the day of release of bang bang.

Has this been posted yet? The physical single will be released on September 23rd, coming with a live version of "Letterbomb".

I'm calling bullshit. It looks like those thirteen in a dozen fake eBay listings.

I've contacted Best Buy to either dispute or confirm the claim.

EDIT: They responded with "Hello! This is available for pre-order: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/bang-bang-only--best-buy-cd/5580474.p?skuId=5580474&CMP=rzss "

Looks like we're getting it.

My bad. I really thought it was a fan-made listing, but if Best Buy confirms it, it's real. It makes sense to have a live version of Letterbomb on there, given the similarities between both songs. It makes me wonder, however, from which concert the track was taken. They already had Letterbomb on AAF, so I'm going to assume it was some more recent concert.

Maybe it's from the GNR HOF induction back 2012?

That was one great performance, so I wouldn't object. They have of course performed Letterbomb dozens of times throughout the years, so even a BIAB-era recording isn't out of the question. I'm personally more interested in the single for the high-quality version of Bang Bang and just to have it in my collection.

I'm surprised they're going with Letterbomb really, we haven't had any Trilogy live recordings released officially so I find it odd that they're going with one that's already been a B-side.

Well, we got Demolicious, which might be as close as we'll get. Still, I agree. The Trilogy was the first record to not have a recorded version of its subsequent tour since Nimrod. I personally think the odds are rather low on them releasing another live recording.

I can't say I'm surprised, they seemed to like playing that song lately but I'd be more excited if they came up with something rare. Full live version of Lazy Bones wouldn't hurt.

I think they might do another live album or at least some live B-sides for the next tour, but there are still a good few bits of the last tour that would work well enough to be released.

Yeah, I mean no complaints that it's Letterbomb, it's fantastic, but I would like some properly recorded live Trilogy stuff. Lazy Bones would be good, I'd be fine with Let Yourself Go and Stay The Night too.

I hope they'll do a live recording of the RevRad tour, but I don't think many Trilogy songs will feature on tour set lists. I completely agree with you that the 99 Revolutions tour was actually really solid. It didn't posses the scope of the 21CB tour or the AI tour, but their shows were still exhilaratingly good in 2013.

Those two would make it perfect, I'd enjoy Rusty James, Missing You or Loss Of Control (the bit in Cuatro sounded so cool) as well.

Yeah, I think they'll not play more than one or two Trilogy songs from here on out, excellent as the last tour may have been.

Oh yeah, definitely those as well. Basically a Trilogy live album :P

So are these singles going to be 45's or cd's, or both?

CDs in any case, I'm not sure about 45s. All singles from East Jesus Nowhere forth have been released as digital downloads or CD singles only. They have done vinyl releases for KYE and 21 Guns though.

I wish they would keep playing Trilogy songs. Not just 99 Revs never liked it much tbh), changing deep cuts + a few biggest hits could fit into their long setlists.
