I'm okay with the beginning of the song but the martyr part makes me lose it

I was super excited when Oh Love came out. Well maybe because I had to suffer with 2 shitty rock opera albums in a row. Bang Bang is ok but it's nothing special really when you listen to it a couple times. It has some cool parts like that scream in the middle, but it also has so many unnecessary things going on before it. Also that news at the beginning is starting to get annoying. The verse and chorus are all messed up. Well it doesn't really have a chorus. Maybe it's just too much going on for me. I definitely like the Kerplunk style guitars though. This guy... I loggeed in just to say how right you are, well except the part where you complained about AI and 21cb. OH love was way and way better than this song. Damn that oh love solo is better than the whole Bang Bang song. I agree with you that trilogy is so great. Hm Stay the night, the forgotten, missing you, 99 revolutions. After all the hype I got about the new album, the song just sucks. Not because it sucks, but sucks because of my high expectation and because its the lead single. With all respect, not everyone seems like prefer the same kind of song. But with Oh Love it seemed there was a higher percentage of people disliking it as the first single compared to Bang Bang. No matter how great a song is, there will always be someone to dislike it. Maybe because of expectation or desire. But this is what we're dealing with and I hope you can find a song on the new album that you do like.
Popular Post desertrose
Green Day are back! – Here’s what we love about new track ‘Bang Bang’ So it’s official – everyone’s favourite punk trio Green Day are back with a new album, and have released a lyric video for spanking new track ‘Bang Bang’. The new album, Revolution Radio, will be available for fans to get their hands on from October 7, and is available to pre-order right now on the band’s website – and there are a few options that have us rubbing our hands together in excitement. The pre-order of the CD comes with a 32-page hardback book crammed with bonus photos, art and lyrics, and of course fans will get a downloadable version of Revolution Radio on October 7. If that isn’t quite enough, the band are also offering a 12” red vinyl of the album, which looks pretty cool. But enough with all the technicalities; and back to new single ‘Bang Bang’. If you’re nostalgic for 1994’s Dookie then this should give you your fix. It’s everything that we love about Green Day. Despite their four-year absence (yes, four!) the trio seem to have jumped straight back into what they are best at – political, angry rock that will definitely get you riled up! It’s fast, punchy, and very, very catchy. The lyrics are clever, just as you would expect, and most bands probably wouldn’t consider releasing the first single from a new album which is written from the perspective of a mass shooter – but Green Day aren’t most bands. In summary, ‘Bang Bang’ has got us very excited for October 7 and the release of Revolution Radio. It’s bound to be full of angry, punky riffs and pressing social issues commenting on the chaotic state of America in 2016, and we can’t wait to hear it! http://mosh.hitthefloor.com/news/green-day-back-heres-love-new-track-bang-bang/

Dont you feel like it was forced a bit? It seems like Billie have lost all his internal inspiration after quitting drugs and alcohol? I dont think that a single off of a new album should sound like any other their previous songs. Green day is better live than in the studio. So I hope they will add some more stuff to the song on stage. Im really interested in your opinion. How would you rate this song in the scale of 10? How would you rate for the example the song 21st century out of 10?
madafaka
Is it just me, or is "viva vendetta" grammatically incorrect? Shouldn't it be "viva la vendetta" instead? My credentials are a flunked spanish class, but still I love the song, but two lines irritate me. The one I mentioned above, and then I really want it to be "Daddy's Mommy's little psycho and Mommy's Daddy's little soldier", it sounds better to me, and makes more sense that way. Guess I should direct my critique at the band themselves so they can get back in the studio and change it before October 7th Edited August 12, 2016 by madafaka

I've already said this but his father left because he could not deal with him or his mother and his mother taught him to shoot.

But no one can ride that train their whole life, and so, many great musicians lose a bit of their edge when they go clean, trading it in for peace of mind and a functional happy life Wouldn't say it's that bad with Billie Joe, but you can definitely feel a difference

I do know however that these kind of people often suffer from having an absent father. Hence why I figured it would be better if he was mommy's little psycho because he would have a close relationship with his mother, possibly living with her well past wat's the norm. And then daddy's little soldier, because he would have a need to impress his absent father by doing something drastic. That was my thought process anyway, beside it just sounding better phonetically Edited August 12, 2016 by madafaka

Sorry, but I don't agree with anything you said. To be honest, if you liked AI or 21st Century breakdown that little, that you resort to calling them: shitty rock operas, then I don't know how ''the new'' Green Day will ever be able to please you. I think I could understand how you're not that excited anymore after the initial hype, all early excitement dies down at some point, but you loose me when you go on to criticizing AI and 21CB, as well as praising ''Oh Love''. I my opinion, that song has even less in common with the fast, furious, raw and emotion-driven songs of the 90s. I know you didn't ask for my opinion specifically but I'd give Bang Bang at least an 8. I liked Oh Love but I wasn't THIS excited when it came out. It's such a different song in terms of subject and tempo though so it's hard to compare. As for 21CB the song...7.5. When you google viva vendetta, all the results are V for Vendetta. Kinda interesting. Also 'viva' translates to 'long live' so I guess the 'la' ('the') isn't necessary in this case? Long live (the idea of) vendetta?
