They edited the video! Now the final choruses have "the LEADING man" instead of "little", which makes more sense and it's actually what he's singing. Those parts are also a bit different from the previous video.

EDIT: No, actually the video is exactly the same, that word is the only thing that's changed.

They also changed it in the Facebook video. But it seems to have contained its total amount of views. How did they change the video without losing the amount of views?

They have 32 millions likes, so they can probably do whatever the heck they want :)

The Facebook video is the same as before for me. The first time the line appears (around 1:36) it's always been "leading", maybe you hadn't noticed it. The mistake was only made in the two final choruses.

Ah crap, you're right. My mistake, didn't look further than the first time the line appears.

Can we take a moment to realize how fucking good Bang Bang is going to sound live.

After seeing the rehearsal set list with songs like Scattered, Armitage Shanks, and Murder city. You can really tell that they are aiming for energetic, fast paced, shows. That is exciting.

Makes me wonder what kind of audience they are trying to address this time. It seems it's targeted at slightly older rock and punk fans rather than at teenagers like 21CB was.

The ratio of likes to dislike on Youtube (at the moment) on the video is 248 likes per every dislike. The comments section also appears to be enjoying the single.
Great.

Great.

And Oh Love is like 30 likes per dislike. So that's a major improvement from Green day's last lead single

I haven't posted here in years and years. How I managed to log in to my old account is a mystery I will never solve.

Anyways, I love the song. For me it's like they've taken all the elements I love about Green Day and put it into a mixer and created an incredible music smoothie (wtf?).

Tré's drumming is on point and Mike is killing it on the base. The lyrics are thought provoking and horrifying, I'm always impressed how Billie manages to tell a story through his lyrics. The song is giving me some serious St Jimmy vibes in the best way possible. I can imagine them opening with this song during tour and the entire venue going absolutely bananas!

I am sure this is just the tip of the iceberg and we have some great things to expect from Revolution Radio. I haven't been this excited for a new Green Day album since before 21CBD was released (and that's saying something as I was a much bigger/committed fan back when the trilogy was released).

I don't understand how the video can already have 14k likes but only 75k views.. I've never seen a ratio like that before, unless the view counter is just going slower than it should be.

The YouTube view counter always goes slower. Likes/dislikes are in real time.

youtube dislikes are not a thing to think/worry about but fans who waited long seem to love the song so it's great.

Mhmm. The overwhelming response on there seems to be positive.
Maintaining the all around positive comments, and most of the ones that are not positive aren't too harsh.

I haven't read this thread, so I don't know if it's been discussed already, but I'm not the only one who thought of Territorial Pissings, right? :D The part when the guitar in TS starts speeding up really reminded me of Bang Bang somehow

I've been listening to this song only on repeat since yesterday, on full volume which my ears won't thank me for but yolo. I just can't get tired of the song, it's soooo amazing:wub: I feel like it has a bit of Nimrod, American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown, Uno and maybe Dookie in it, but at the same time it's very unique and so completely different from anything they have done before. I don't know, I'm just really happy and satisfied with what they gave us ♥ I can't wait to listen to the whole album!

There are some lyrics I still don't really understand: "You're dead, I'm well fed" and "Give me death or give me head" Like, are those fillers or do they mean something? Is this a reference I don't get? I know what giving head means, I just don't understand the context ...

Also while making a gif set of the lyric video and thus watching it frame by frame, I really started to appreciate that piece of art. I mean I thought it was awesome before but didn't really think about it really, just thought it looked cool. But when you watch it for hours and observe every movement, you realize how fricking amazing it really is. He (I assume Frank Maddocks made it?) could have easily reused certain frames (like the unicorn running) but he didn't? I mean I don't think he did? Every frame is different... That must have been so much work, it's crazy.

Single Review: Green Day – BANG BANG

Editor's Review

Summary

It is great to listen to a track that is blistering and full of quality.

The tingle of anticipation reached fever pitch today as Californian Legends Green Day released their new single BANG BANG. The track, which is taken from the band’s new record Revolution Radio, is a blitz of power chords and infectious lyricism.

Leading man Billie Joe Armstrong sings with his trademark sneer and bassist Mike Dirnt utilizes the strings with an almighty push for glory. Drummer Tre Cool smashes the kit with intent, forming a sound that is reminiscent of a jolted heart.

It’s a compelling comeback from Green Day. A band often slammed for their political, angst ridden contributions. But, the band have struck gold here, merging together old sounds with modern twists. The lyrics from Armstrong are eye opening and controversial, but they present a purpose. They may sting the eyes, but they’re there for a reason.

The song pushes the band. It’s an upgrade from the songs that were created for Uno, Dos, Tre. Those albums didn’t click and were fairly lacklustre. So it is great to listen to a track that is blistering and full of quality. BANG BANG is a clear winner. It will suit the disenchanted and the believers.

"You're dead, I'm well fed" IMHO stands for something like as when the mass shooter does his thing, he is well fed. He did what he wanted, he is "happy"
(remember the song was written by a potential mass shooter)
And for the "Give me death or give me head" I think is just about sexual frustration or something

It probably means that the shooter goes to jail and gets three square meals per day (as long as he doesn't commit suicide or is killed during the take-down).
