You realise just how powerful and amazing it really is. You nailed it. This happened to me by accident on shuffle with Wild One. I started to listen to Oh Love and BB back to back to compare/ contrast the last two lead singles. Oh my fucking god. In a good way- BB is on another level in many, many ways. It's almost spiritual how incredible this song is. I can't put it into words so I won't even try.
Popular Post That Dude
So I've only been in my car for two short drives today and each time I heard BANG BANG on the radio! After the song finished the second time, the DJ said that 65% of listeners were saying that Green Day's new song was a "smash hit" and requesting the crap out of it. He said he was going to play it regardless because "it's Green Day!"
MikeDirntConfused
Am I the only one that liked, but not loved the song? To me, Bang Bang sounds like it could have fit somewhere in the trilogy. For some reason it reminds me a bit of Stop When Red Lights Flash.

All of my friends know that I am a ridiculous GD lifer and they started texting me about the song at various points of the day. And they all love it and were surprised by the urgency of the tune. While I didn't initially expect this to be a mass hit (in a way, it's too good, too fucking blistering of a song in my mind to make it on today's radio), I'm starting to think differently- the non-GD hardcore fans that love great rock are going crazy over this one. It strikes a nerve on a lot of levels. I don't expect AI part II or anything, but I think this one is going to resonate with the rock crowd more than anything they've done over the last ten years. Really sweet considering how, for most of us hardcore fans, BB embodies everything we love about the band.

I expected something mindblowing from Billie. Something that will change the music era. I dont think this song will be hit. Slightly dissapointed. Hope Revrad will be more diverse sonically Hmmm...this song is pretty diverse on its own, I don't know what more people want- epic Tre solo, blistering Billie vocals, scalding guitars, time changes, upsetting then totally fitting bridge, blindingly fast, and tied together all so well...if this is a representation of the album, I don't know how we can be disappointed. I also played this back to back with a lot of my faves (Scattered/ Westbound/ Jinx/ Letterbomb) all day and maybe it's the newness but I think they hit a new high water mark with this one. Couldn't be happier, can't listen to it enough.
Popular Post Schlappy
This song is mega meaty. I just love how it demonstrates the unity of their individuals sounds. Mike galloping away with that baseline matching with Billies grit then HEY TRES HERE SOLO TIME!!! Makes me wanna jump around and crash into people.
Met Fan
I hope they upload it to their youtube account already, I wanna stream it to my TV, somehow streaming things to my TV has become the easiest way to watch or listen to something new but hey it's 2016 and you gotta go with the flow heh
21guns&novacaine
Still on repeat... Help me. Actually, please don't. It's been too long without new Green Day music.
Gwen Stacy
Something I'm wondering: are Warner and/or Green Day pissed off at Google? Because the lyric video still isn't on YouTube yet and you can buy just Bang Bang on iTunes and Amazon but not Google Play. Anyone know why?

Glad you got there first. You said it all- this song is ridiculous. I was definitely "pleased" with KYE and Oh Love, but this one ran those old tingles down my spine...different level. We're so lucky as fans- they've delivered. And then some.
ozoneplayer
Took me a few listens, but right now I'm really digging this track. Love the intensity, and the chorus just won't leave my head.

Well if its any indication outside of GDC - my daughter listened to it once this morning - loved the video & it was so catchy she was quoting lyrics to me in the car - after one listen.

Too cute! How old is she? I picked my son up from daycare all excited to play him the new song (and he loves music, mostly BritRock- i.e. Oasis). He loves it, loses his mind during the drum solo. He's four. Granted, he's been fed a steady diet of GD since birth, but this made me smile!

I'm sure someone's asked before but I've never seen it posted- what do you do? I love how GD connects so many of us from all over the world from so many walks of life- for example, I work in finance, and I've loved this band for 22 years. My son is 4 and had no choice. I think we have artists, attorneys, musicians, and contractors on this site. I love how such a wide range of different people can get together and enjoy this common love for a great band. An even greater band now that we've had a chance to digest BB, I might add. 5 minutes ago, BillyjoelxkidXx said: Way older than daycare Very nice. It's amazing meeting people who work in all these different backgrounds, of all varying ages who have similar interests. It's one of the coolest things about having these sites around.

Very well put, it's one of things I enjoy about the board and going to the shows. It's a very human reminder that so may of us are amazingly able to be united through music. I'll stop there before Bono turns this into some kind of corny song. In the meantime, enjoy BB- what a masterpiece. And keep up the great work with the site- I hope exciting times like these make all the hard work worth the effort.
Popular Post Bastard of 1967
Been a long time, y'all....too long, too much life getting in the way and too little happening with Green Day to post much here. Til today. I want to say hi again to my old friends here and, to all the new folks who've joined the crew here since my last visit -- looking forward to meeting you in the weeks ahead. Anyway, seems that Green Day reinvents themselves every chance they get, and they came screaming out of the damn gate today. Bang Bang's on repeat and I'm hungry for more.

I was wondering about you today- you had all of those insightful write-ups during the Trilogy era. I've come back recently as well, and it's great to see you here and very much digging the new stuff. I think a lot of us old fans were pleasantly surprised with the boys today- they came out breathing fire, and it's incredible.
