Just pre-ordered the lyric book and CD.

WOW!

It's good to be back and see some familiar names.  Kind of like coming back to summer camp and seeing all your old friends again.

NOW I JUST CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE TOUR!!!!

Welcome back

Man, the hate for Green Day is always so irritating. Just reading the comments of news outlets reporting on the new single, this was one of the comments:

"The only revolution they are leading is that they are still playing crappy bubblegum pop punk, still!!!!!!..... crap!"

That is such an ignorant statement, showing they didn't even listen to at least 1 second of Bang Bang.

I read that bubble gum pop statement, it was a comment left by some random on FB. I don't think a news outlet said it...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that liked the Trilogy. It had it's problems sure, but the music made me happy.

Exactly. I don't thing this album will have many fun songs with catchy melodies. It will be more of a fast and angry album. After I listened to Bang Bang for like 5 times I played some Trilogy songs and it was like a whole new Green Day, more calm and fun. I think people will really start to appreciate Trilogy after the new album. Same thing that happened with Warning. Calm and fun really goes great with fast and angry.

I love what they did with the instruments in this song. The intro, drum fills, kick-ass bass and punky but not moronic guitar. Straightforward but fun and with a touch of non-punk influences. It has the best of both old and new Green Day.

Billies been using the filter in every song since AI why would he stop all the sudden?

AI filters weren't as noticeable.

I was just saying I noticed that pattern with each Green Day release. First, 21CB gets some hate. The Trilogy comes out and suddenly it's underrated. I think the same will happen here too. Nonetheless, I'm super excited for the new album!

the song is amazing.

fuck the negativity, focus on positivity. It's another shitty, meaningless day for prejudiced people. and here i am having great time. Then here is Green Day with all their success .I'm not even gonna read those comments.. i only care what long-waiting fans think

Amen to that. PREACH!

Sooooo happy, felt sick as time approached to hear it but love the song, it's amazing and love it more the more I hear it. Great lyrics again from BJ so in touch with the world.  Great video, I agree, think this will be the video and a great interview with RS.  On top of all of that TOUR DATES COMING SOON!,,. Half way to hysterical here, shaking.  The drums, the bass OMG can't wait for album. 😍👏👏👏👏👌👌👌

I liked it a lot. I heard a lot from UnoDosTre, 21stCB and, believe it or not, Insomniac.
I ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would.

Well, my initial thoughts are that this is an inspired song. It has the sincerity and passion that I expect from Green Day. It is topical, without being too "of the moment," so to speak, or being particularly ham-fisted. Most importantly, it simply "feels right." I definitely approve of this song; I look forward to hearing the entire record.

I'm sure I'll have more to say later, but I need to take some time to absorb all of this.

Oh my God!!  I am having way too many emotions right now.  I can't even focus on a damn thing.  This has me completely flipped out in the best way I've ever flipped out before.  I want more!  Give me what I need!

Fucking love this!!!

The lyrics are probably the worst offender on the song for me. I mean, if you're gonna take on a topic as potentially inflammatory as mass shootings as the premise of a song, you tend to want do it with some nuance or subtly. It almost reads like Billie just watched an episode of Bill Maher the night of the aftermath of a shooting and just copied a lot of their talking points.

There's no new perspective or unique interpretation to it, he's literally just saying what pretty much everyone already knows. And while the lyrics on AI were anything but subtle at times, at least they had a nice cryptic-ness to them at points that gave them a nice little flourish, here it's just sounds like a bunch of taglines for teens to write on the back of their backpacks or put on a t-shirt strung together into a single song.

I don't know what happened to Billie lyrically, he doesn't seem as witty or clever as he used to be.
