Z J Posted August 23, 2016 Share Posted August 23, 2016 It would be impressive if Green Day topped the rock chart, but with Twenty One Pilots having those two songs stuck up there (both having charted in the Overall Top 10 as well) makes it difficult to see it happening any time soon. Maybe peak number 2 in the next few weeks because it certainly has moved well, and "Ride" is starting to dip, so there's a chance they seize the spot. It got me slightly worried that the album will kick so much ass that my cheap speakers are going to die on me. Each time I check the radio station online and they play the song I just hear the guitars and the drums and some mumbling. It's that I know the lyrics so I know what he is singing. But I heard it on different speakers that can actually handle that kind of loudness war sound and it sounded not that bad at all. But still, the radio compression isn't doing the song much good. I actually agree, mostly because I witness twenty one pilots' massive popularity everyday (I can't speak for adults, though). Kids in my school who normally never listen to anything but straight-up pop like the band; the "alternative/metalcore" kids like them; the popular crowd likes them; it seems like everyone loves the band except for the handful of classic rock purists I know. GD is quite popular as well, but mostly among the "alternative" group and a handful of jocks.
