Mike took bass lessons, Billie said so in the Rolling Stone article.

Is it normal that on my first listen I got completely out of breath and my hands were trembling so much I ended up not feeling them at all?

Just making sure some of you guys had the same experience so that I can tell I was not dreaming. 'Cause listening to that song surely felt like a dream.

I was shaking.  My itunes playlist shows 22 listens right now.  It just keeps getting better.

Yeah, he took Bass lessons (cited in the RS article) and you can tell his musicianship is so much more on point in this single

In case anyone is wondering what happened to the Spanish Warner "stories", this morning they posted gifs of people's faces and I guy saying "what a cucumber, I loved it" End of their "stories". And that was twitter instead of IG as they had said. How can such a big company act like this? I can't understand it.

It really does, I've had it on loop for the last couple of hours and it really is just glorious nihilistic punk fire. It's not what I expected, but it's what I didn't realise I needed.

Also I'd like to draw attention to that subtle bit of phasing just before Tré's drum fill, it's so cool.

I wasn't too hyped about the new song, I expected it to be a nice song and nothing more. But you know what? It's pretty awesome! I'm looking foward to hear the whole album.

But for the love of god Mike,

PLAY

MORE

GODDAMN

BASSLINES!

You and us deserve more than just root notes!

I know nothing about playing bass but every album up to  and including Warning i thought his bass playing contributed so much to green days sound. Since then whether its the type of songs

or something else stopping him playing more intricately it not been the same.

What was the point of the lead single artwork if everywhere they put out the song just has the rev rad album art?

I love the bass on the intro (reminds me a bit of demolicious Baby Eyes), and then the way it stops and almost seems to take a breath before letting loose with the main song.  Can't stay still at that bit.

The bridge is my favourite. Specifically 2:12 - 2:20. And I also love the way Billie sings "v for vendetta".

That fucking drum solo, I can't get enough of it and I know nothing about drums. I can't wait to see Tre pull it off during a live performance.

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking, this would be beautiful to watch live!

*Viva vendetta, though I do think it's a dig at the use of the Guy Fawkes mask at protests.

Also I love how Billie sings "lullaby of memories". And that whole verse for that matter.

Fuck, the whole fucking thing.
