Straight off, with the intro guitars, it reminded me so much of More Than A Feeling by Boston.

I think there's a pretty huge Boston influence on this. The "we all die in threes" bit is a total ripoff of More Than A Feeling too.

I absolutely love this song. I listened to it on the way to work this morning and the lyrics clicked for me. I love the line " Congratulations I found myself, somewhere now." It made me smile and feel hopeful.

I like when he says "under the sofa pillows". Makes me feel comfortable with slugging around somedays and doing jack shit. This song gets better and better with every listen. The drums are great and that guitar solo gets imbedded in my head for hours. Seems it would work good as an opener.

I've given this numerous listens, because everyone seems to love it so much, but I still don't really like it. I think it's kinda boring and I also really dislike that "We all die in threes" line for some reason.

The all die in threes thing is a very american thing, I think.  It is almost a "common joke" kind of thing that all celebrities die in threes.  If a celebrity dies, everyone thinks, 2 more to go.

I never disliked it, but it was not one of my top on the album, until I learned to play it.  It is very simple to play, but musically Billie has done some things he has never done before.  I love it when he tries new things.  I also think that between this and Forever Now, it brings the album full circle.  I'm not where I want to be, I found where I want to be kind of thing.  I think that is what Billie was going for considering Somewhere Now starts with the same riff that Forever Now ends with.

But, I do like Forever Now better.

Yeah I understand that it gives the album a nice frame together with Forever Now. I just don't really like it as such, it's not a song I like to listen to. Forever Now is way better in my opinion.

Does anyone else hear talking in the background of this song?   I could swear I hear someone saying "Jesus" at certain parts of the song.   Also, this song runs into the beginning of BANG BANG.

Hahaha a hidden religious message? Maybe someone says bejeezus  No honestly, haven't noticed anything yet. But I'm curious, where in the song do you hear it?

3 minutes and 48 second mark.    "Congratulations I found myself (Jesus)"

I was thinking more of a Jesus of Suburbia reference than a religious reference.

It kind of sounds like that part in "Homecoming" where Tre is going nuts in the background but you can't quite tell what he's saying.

Oh I get what you mean, I noticed that there's a funny noise, too, but I couldn't figure it out. But I like your Jesus theory, so I'll go with that :D

I'll have to listen for that when I throw it on tommorow. I haven't picked that out yet though.

^I can't dispute any of this but the sentence about about Billie's infatuation with suicide. I'm not sure if I see it - not saying it's not there, I just can't think of any examples of him mentioning suicide (except for Uptight and frankly, I'm still not sure what he meant by that song not even after all these years of thinking and "taste for suicidal" in St. Jimmy). It's either never occurred to me or I never properly thought about it.

I agree with your interpretation of "we all die in threes" though. It's the only explanation I heard that actually makes sense within the context of the song.

"I put the riot in patriot and we all die in threes."

I just want to react to that one thing. I know that dying in threes is about celebrities and stuff, but I think that it may also mean (in this song) that actually everybody is dying in threes. Your neighbor dies, then your old friend, then your mother. The next three is all over again the same thing but with different people who are passing away "together". It's the other way how to say our old friend Death is waitnig for all of us.

This might sound dumb and maybe I'm the only one or not, but that's what I think of when I hear this particular line and because of this explanation I think it's an amazing line. I love that song.

Huh, yeah, that's why he says we all die in threes. It makes perfect sense.

I just wanted to say that I respectfully disagree with @crock6000's explanation, having my own. :) Was just trying to debate lyrics :D

Sorry, this probably came off a different way than I meant it :P I agree he's taking the phrase about celebrities dying in threes and says "we all" to emphasize that it applies to anyone, possibly himself, figuratively the end of his band, or to everybody else, because after all, we all will die one day.

I got started! It's so nice  My teacher is going to have suck it up because I'm bringing it to the class. Last time we talked about green day he said they should have retired after AI. Sorry not so sorry

I went to my lesson the day after Rev Rad was released and my guitar teacher had it all tabbed out and ready to work on.  He loves RevRad!

I love your interpretation. I don't think of it as a debate at all!  To me it's a discussion. You only debate facts if you want real resolutions. Nobody is right or wrong when interpreting art, ever.

Oh I didn't know there could be a difference between debating and duscussing, sorry, I should just say talking about the lyrics :D I love yours too
