No, it wasn't. Let me rephrase:

Hopefully Billie isn't having difficulties with doing drugs or drinking too much again.

I'm sure if you're honest with yourself, it crossed your mind.

Nope.  Never crossed my mind.  AT ALL.

It didn't. He'd be the most stupid person in the world if he got himself into this kind of trouble again.

You have to realise people like Jason and Brit (not in the band but at risk of catching something from close quarters etc) have had serious illnesses in the past making something as simple as the flu very dangerous.  And not just them either, I'm glad they're deciding not to push their health limits too far.

Alright then.. My mistake. These cancellations just seems reminiscent of the start of the Trilogy tour. Let's hope they all get better 🙂

I'm flying to Norway from Brazil to see them in January. If things get more serious and they end up cancelling the rest of the tour, I'm going to be a lil sad......

Not speaking for anyone else of course, but it absolutely did not cross my mind at all. People making insinuations did, though - but I hoped people would be better than that. :tired:

I don't think it's something too serious, I mean even a simple sore throat is enough to cancel a show because it wouldn't allow Billie to sing but a sore throat is not a serious illness though it can be very annoying sometimes.

Especially when you get the cough that lasts for a week. I feel bad for the people who had tickets. But you know there's going to be a regular tour at a later time so it's not like they won't play a show ever again.

Last time they were ill, it was a cover. Just saying.

But I think what you're referring to is them saying Billie was sick in Italy, which, well, he was. Since Jakob and Jason have seemingly been legitimately ill, it's not nice to cause unnecessary alarm. We're worriers as it is.

Not stupid. Just an addict, which he has been all his life.

To be honest... It did, and I hate that and I feel bad about that.

He said that the hospital visit in Italy was alcohold induced.

Exactly. They said the shows will be postponed. If they weren't sure Green Day will get well soon, they wouldn't have said that.

Maybe not stupid - what is stupid though is starting that kind of rumour every time you hear word of sickness in the band.

@DookieLukie Right, but it's not like they said he, other members of the band, and the crew were sick at that time—they said Billie was sick. This time, they said many people were impacted, and based on actual evidence we have that at least Jason was sick (who probably has a compromised immune system from battling cancer recently), I'm 100% choosing to believe them.

Do you even know he went to rehab because of that and he's no longer an addict?

Nobody is starting rumours.. We're just saying it's possible, and this is exactly how the trilogy era started. Addicts lie, and addicts are selfish.

Did they say other band members & crew were sick.

That is literally how a rumour starts. There is absolutely zero indication of anything other than what they said in their statement. Several members of the crew are unwell.

Had tickets to the Toronto show and am just gutted right now - this was going to be the first time I'd seen them in a smaller setting and I was really looking forward to it.  I get that since it was a GA show for a special event it's not as easy to reschedule like the other shows, where they can honour the same tickets/seats in the same venue on a later date.  But to just cancel Toronto completely and not try to make something up for us really sucks.  It's just hard to take.

You don't stop being an addict. Addiction is a disease. It can only be managed with support, treatment, and strong will. There's no 'cure'.

It is real. BJ has been quiet the last days and Jakob has been feeling sick this week. I don't know about you guys, but things like the flu spread like a wildfire in a household once a person contracts it and Billie really can't sing with a serious flu.
