It's Tim himself on the door to the party isn't it? With the big beard.

I think it was a great video, taking a different approach to what's the song isĀ about was a cool idea and I was already expecting it since music videos usually are very different to the lyrics and what's the song is about.

The only thing that bugs me is (like @Second favourite sonĀ said) that they used the same exact bank as the one in Pierce The Veil's King For a Day, even the same camera angle when they enter the bank...

I guess Green Day we'reĀ mad they copy the title 'King For a Day' so they copied they're video concept.Ā

Ehm no. the video is inspired from the movie "Point Break" (1991) directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

Ha, love it. Ā Haven't read whole thread so sorry if this has been said but I thought they were going to take the masks off and it be Green Day underneath! Ā ThinkĀ it's great, I guess they didn't want too serious after WMUWSE but totally get the media references. Ā And they all look great, Tim Armstrong sneaking himself in, we see you!

I was watching the video with my dad and he noticedĀ a similarity with a film from 1991 called Point Break - Fina Heist, here's the link to the scene:
Ā

Spoiler

Ā

This film is directed by Kathryn Bigelow and the main characters areĀ a gang of robbers who wear face-masks depicting former US ex presidentsĀ Ronald Reagan,Ā Richard Nixon,Ā Lyndon B. Johnson, andĀ Jimmy CarterĀ to disguise their true identities (Of course Nixon made me think of 21stCB).
In the film there is also a part where the robbers throw to peopleĀ all the money stoled like the last part of the videoclip.Ā

It's just an idea of course :)Ā Ā

Imagine a huge crowd in these masks :DĀ Terrifying.

They should give those away at concerts for everyone to wear them during those songs :DĀ

This video was interesting. Fun enough, not necessarily going to stick in my mind. Half expected them to actually be filming a music video for an entirely different song. Definitely hope RevRad has a sort of continuation of this video.Ā

Ā

Mike is wearing a Danger vest, is that Jakob's band Danger, or something else entirely?Ā

Haha. They should. I'm definitely expecting them to wear those during at least a couple of shows :)

Really? How is it cringeworthy. At least the music video isn't shot in a high school.

The cringe set in when they walked into that room in slowmo which reminded of the Kill the DJ video :D

It's about time!!!! Ā With that said, I hate to agree with Seagull, but a song about a mass shooter with a bank robbery?? Ā I guess they were going for a lighter theme than the song. Ā But I thought it was cute, I liked the Thelma and Louse kind of reference. Ā Also, Billie kept crossing his eyes, it was cute. Ā  IT isn't my favorite video they have every done but it wasn't the worst.Ā Ā

the bank robbery and party scene is a Point Break reference as well

Yay, finally I can post on this forum- it said the webpage was down?!

I love the video but the masks are freaky.Ā

I'm relieved that they didn't use the mass shooter subject in the video. This would have been very hard to visualize. I'm quite happy that they chose a much lighter topic for the video. Plus, a song always leaves room for interpretation, so although we know that it is about mass shooters because Billie told us, it can mean 1000 different things at the same time. That's the cool thing about music - or art in general. But like some of you said, I also expected a different ending - I thought there would be some shooting, too ;-) But I really like it, it's great to see them so powerful, healthy and happy.

And the Danger T-Shirt might be a birthday present for Jakob? ;)
