So I'm not sure if this has been pointed out 100 times or not at all, but my boyfriend insists Green Day stole the set/plot from this Pierce the Veil song, (ironically called King for a Day).  The bank does look like it's the same set lol.

Love this song <3

Hardly the same plot at all...

The plot of the bank robbery is from Point Break

Sure it's not the best video they've ever done, but let's face it.  Music videos usually aren't that great and its because they make no money off them whatsoever, so why spend money on them?  I like BANG BANG's video just fine.    Some of their best videos - Redundant, Warning, all the American Idiot ones, The Saints are Coming, Working Class Hero, 21 Guns, 21st Century Breakdown, Oh Love.     The rest are a mixed bunch, ranging from pretty darn good to a cassette tape spinning!

The Forgotten has got to be the worst of the bunch because I just can't help the hatred for the sparkly vampires.

I found the music video for "The Forgotten" right smack dab in the middle of my "Twilight is the worst thing on Earth" phase, and as a GD fan, I was kind of disappointed that the song was featured in the film.

Am I the only one who though it was Billie Joe singing "Bang bang! Give me fame" and "You're dead! I'm well fed" before seeing this video? Him and Mike sound so similar sometimes.

Yeah me too. Maybe it's really him but Mike will sing it live so they did the video this way. Or maybe it's both of them together on the studio version... not sure

It is Billie singing it. It caught me off guard when Mike was singing it in the video

That's what I was thinking. I imagine it would be pretty difficult for Billie to sing all of that in a live performance without gasping for air. It still seems weird that Mike would be lip-syncing to his voice, though.

Their voices sound VERY similar sometimes, but I really thought the backing vocals were Billie's.

I think it's hard to tell because the backing vocals on the song are heavily altered with filters or some other effects. They don't sound very natural.

I only just realised the 3rd bank robber is a guy. I guess most of my attention was on the girls

Of course it's billie guys just Mike singing it in the video to look cool and it does.

Do you even watch other music videos or what? Bands do that with lead singer's backing vocas in music videos all the time.

With Tim Armstrong as director, I was expecting something a bit weirder/ edgier. The video is fine- hell, anything with clips of GD playing "live" is good by me- but with Timmy Timebomb's involvement I had expected some major weirdness. Maybe it's a blessing, but this was more straightforward than I had expected.

Based on the bad ass performance of Mike Dirnt in this video, I guess a lot of people are going to be very impressed with his vocals, and so I feel the need to put it out there that it's all Billie Joe on this song. As per usual Billie does all the backing vocals in the studio, and Mike and the others do them live. But for the purpose of the video, it was pretty cool that he did them, and very intensely at that

Yep, in my endless nerdiness I tried to figure out how they would handle these vocals live as soon as the song was released. Here's what I have:

I wanna be a celebrity martyr (BJA obviously) ahhhhaahhh (White/ Matika/ Freese)

The leading man in my own private drama (BJA obviously) ahhhhaahhh (White/ Matika/ Freese)

Hurrah (BJA) Bang Bang (Mike/ White/ Matika/ Freese) x2

The hero of the hour, daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier (BJA obviously)

Bridge call & response- should be interesting and some combination of the above, and I expect Mike to be featured heavily for the prominent shouting sections alongside BJA.

I haven't watched a GD video in years because they're terrible, but I was bored. It was slick and pointless but not awful.

I gotta disagree - Im not sure what else they could do considering the content.

Have you read @DookieLukie comment

"I really liked this video. The social commentary is very clear. Like the Orlando shooter doing a crime to earn the respect of ISIS, the people in masks are committing a robbery to impress Green Day. Just like ISIS had nothing to do with the shootings, Green Day has nothing to do with the robbery, but the media thinks they do. I think it's also a commentary in celebrity worship and obsession, as these "fangirls" stare at Billie like he's the face of God, and they're begging for his approval."

Am I the only one that feels like the different music videos will be connected and kind of tell a story? This video has the band being framed for robbing a bank, but it feels like the "story" should have more to it. And Billie seems to like those masks too, maybe they'll make future appearances?

I think the photoshoot at jingletown they had them on - I think it was an Instagram - BJ was holding a loud speaker. (I think)

Hmm you're right actually. Not sure how that's fit into a story with the band being framed for armed robbery :P

They definitely used a car with a loudspeaker on top for something, most likely the Revolution Radio video.
