I'm not that much impressed. First, masks are super weird and creepy and so is that blonde girl at the end of the video :lol: Not their best nor their worst.

Its not bad or anything, but it's extremely forgettable and won't stand out years from now. I have the somewhat unpopular opinion that Green Day has struggled in the video department ever since Warning.

Still think their best video since 2000 has been Stray Heart.

Really? I didn’t like the Stray Heart video very much. It’s funny and all, but I prefer videos where you actually see the guys. That’s why I like the Bang Bang video. Somehow I feel this is a parody about their own career. Billie is grimacing like in the Dookie-era. The bank robbery and the money thrown in the air could be a hint to the frequently used accusation of selling themselves out. But maybe that’s way too much interpretation. Maybe they just wanted to make a fun video that’s not too heavy. I think it is!

Sure it's not the best video they've ever done, but let's face it.  Music videos usually aren't that great and its because they make no money off them whatsoever, so why spend money on them?  I like BANG BANG's video just fine.    Some of their best videos - Redundant, Warning, all the American Idiot ones, The Saints are Coming, Working Class Hero, 21 Guns, 21st Century Breakdown, Oh Love.     The rest are a mixed bunch, ranging from pretty darn good to a cassette tape spinning!

The Forgotten has got to be the worst of the bunch because I just can't help the hatred for the sparkly vampires.

The beginning really reminds me of the beginning of the dark knight.

I'm really happy that the video was released today. Today would have been the 21st birthday for a girl who was in my class growing up though sadly passed away early my junior year. She was a huge green day fan and having green day release their first music video in years on her birthday made me kind of happy but sad at the same time.

It's amazing the impact this band can have

Basket Case MV is still the best one they ever made, oh and When I Come around too

Got to agree with you on that.

Weird choice for the thumbnail.

I like it, doesn't give anything away but emphasizes the media angle. Even the thumbnail is well done!

A really really good video can boost the sales of the song (airplay on the music channels, youtube views and shares etc.)

Gotta disagree with you on the best videos. Oh Love?! :P

That facebook 24h exclusive it's such a awful move and bad for the video success on Youtube, like it could be 2.5M views already if it was uploaded to Youtube directly.

They must have an exclusive deal with Facebook. I guess it makes more money that way? I get that aspect of it, but YouTube views matter. A lot of views looks good to the average listener and might pique their interest.

Isn't it already at 3M?

Just turned on Kerrang! TV to see if they were showing the new video... And they're playing the lyric video instead!  Not complaining, but why?!

My guess is that Facebook had an exclusive on the video for a day.

Some random things I love about the video:

- that malicious, almost imperceptible sneer Billie Joe shows at 0:39 ("I'm so proud of this song eh eh");

- Tré losing his shit at 0:54;

- Mike keeps you so fucking hyped during the entire song! Every time the video seems to slow down a bit, there he is shouting out those back vocals and making you want to scream with him.

The video is alright, as always many of you have already given excellent interpretations, so I don't really have anything else to add. The boys look so good! Fresh, young, happy, they all seem so proud of this little thing they're presenting to us.

Final consideration: I think that to be stared at like that blonde girl does with Billie during the last 30 seconds of the video is the dream of every heterosexual man.

I still have a hard time understanding the YouTube view counter. I think it slowly increases the view number rather than have anything close to real time. Other videos that have 15k likes have an average of 500,000 views and this one had 15k likes in 3 hours, and only shows 70k views. I'm guessing they slowly increase the view number so that when the buzz dies off for the video, the view numbers don't just stop. I dunno.. it's weird.

My guess is the video has 400-500k views, but YouTube has their own way of increasing the displayed view count.

Anybody watch Good Mythical Morning? Guys, go watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dlyd9CpkeM. It's today's episode, and Green Day is mentioned early in the start of the show in a way that totally blew my mind in context to the new music video for Bang Bang. (Now assuming you clicked the link) Had anyone heard this story of the real life "Green Day bank robber?" I seriously can't decide if it's all a freak coincidence or if that girl is the original inspiration for the music video. What do you make of it? There's definitely some uncanny similarities to draw.
