Semi-automatic lonely boy
ok, i listened to it again. the mix is definetly very different! the bass is so much louder here. on the original file i can't really hear it. on this video you can hear the bass really clearly. i wonder if they decided to change the final mix of the album last minute? or if they accidentaly added a previous mix to the video? or if this just a radio edit version? which doesn't make sense, since the radios are playing this for a month now and it sounded like the original file i downloaded. any opinions on that? The original is like a giant wall of guitars unforgivingly being blasted towards you. The mix in the video is a lot more balanced: the overall volume is much more consistent, the vocals are more clear, etc. I think they're both good, just different. I guess the original suits the song more and it has this raw charm, but it is a little bit hard on the ears. One thing I like a lot about the new mix though, is the phaser effect in the instrumental part before the drum solo being much more subtle. I wonder if they noticed how people are often criticizing the mixing on bang bang and rev rad, and decided to have someone redo it for the final release? heather
Loved the video, thought it was fun and the band-in-the-living-room shots were great. Loved the quick cuts and the Thelma and Louise bank robbers. But mostly just stopping by to say how much I still love Tim Armstrong after all these years, even if he is a punk rock Grizzly Adams now... lucky_stars
So after thinking about the video all day, I really wish they had done something a little more bold - even if they had used like paintball guns with red paint in some cool way, I feel like that would've been more interesting than the whole robber/house party thing. BucksCoEric
I'm really happy that the video was released today. Today would have been the 21st birthday for a girl who was in my class growing up though sadly passed away early my junior year. She was a huge green day fan and having green day release their first music video in years on her birthday made me kind of happy but sad at the same time. That Dude
Love it! This album is shaping up to be SIIIIICCK! One thought that crossed my mind though. Some crazy person out there is going to see this video and go rob a bank with Green Day masks on and the band will be blamed for it (not blamed for the actual robbery, just inspiring crime in general). Because that is today's world for you. Great video. And to the person who said they needed more money flying around at the end.....Tim Armstrong doesn't have "Green Day Money" at his disposal, only Rancid/Transplants/Tim Timebomb money at his disposal. He's only got 13 million to play with where Green Day have about 150 Million to throw around. They could have used some of theirs, but lets face it. Somebodies got to pay their butlers. HAHA. *Interesting thing though. Google anybodies name with 'networth' and it breaks it down for you. Billie is at 55 Million, Mike 50 and Tre 45 Million. I'm about to do Jason White but I have a feeling it's going to be more like "45.00" LOL I know we will because we're GDA and we are insane, but has anyone freeze framed this one yet? Pun intended because I just saw Jason Freeze in the video! I know Timmy Armstrong is there but are there any more familiar faces in the crowd? I'd have like something bold as well. But I think this era of Green Day is all about simplicity. Revolution Radio is revolutionary in that it isn't. Or something like that. Paola17
Posted this here as well because it's related to the video, but I really hope they use those masks on stage or hand them out or something. Red
My reaction. Beginning: "Holy shit, they're gonna go shoot this place up. Shit's gonna be intense!" Middle: "Okay, so they were just robbing the place, a little bit lighter in tone but cool I guess, interesting that they're framing Green Day.. What's gonna happen?" End: "Hmm, they robbed a place to frame Green Day and now they are rocking out at their show throwing the money around? So what is the message in this?" Conclusion? So these people were hired by Green Day to rob a place pretending to be Green Day? Either that or they weren't hired but just wanted to frame them, but why would they do it if they appear to love the band so much? No message, just randomness and doesn't seem to relate to the song much at all. Cool video, but I don't really get it.

That Dude
And ANOTHER thing. The video got me all excited about new music and I suddenly wondered what Sum 41 were up to even though I haven't liked anything by them after Infected. Their new music....is a Boulevard of Broken Dreams rip off! Down to Derick's arm movements are he's walking by an old movie projection that's playing behind him. WOW. BANG BANG - Fun! Powerful! Punk! War - kind of sucky. LOL.

PurpleIron1039
I was reading an article on the video before I watched it, and when I got to "music video" and "robbing a bank" my immediate first thought was "Breaking The Law Pt. 2". xLumian
What is the name of the actress playing the blonde robber?
PurpleIron1039
Just finished my first watch of the video. To me, it was very strongly reminiscent of the "Breaking The Law" music video in certain parts, but that might just be because I've watched that one so many times and because they're both bank robbery-type scenarios and carry all those tropes. The party GD's playing at looks like a typical high school party to me. EDIT: Spotted an Overkill patch at 2:18! Damn, that's awesome, two bands I absolutely love in the same music video. I can't quite make out what the patch on the other guy's jacket is, though. There are so many band tees in this music video, which makes it a fun game for me to pause it throughout to try to read the logos. I'll admit I'm not the best at recognizing them, though. I see an Interrupters tee too. The mask thing took me aback, I'll admit. I actually thought that it was GD underneath all that rubber. The blond girl is really pretty, I have to say. List of band logos I've seen/been able to make out so far (I'll be updating this; this really is a fun game): Op Ivy Overkill Interrupters Tim Timebomb/Rancid Left Alone Carcass I saw what looked like a Baptizm of Fire tee around the 0:55 mark, but I Googled the cover image to refresh my memory and the blurry colors aren't lining up, so I doubt that I was right. Besides, that album is fairly obscure. I feel ashamed as a metalhead to not be able to read more of these. We're supposed to be ace at deciphering blurry/messy/incoherent band logos. There's this one guy at the back of the room, behind Billie, with a studded leather vest and a black cap, and I can't seem to make out the logo on either the tee or the hat. My eyes are terrible; the logo on the cap looks like it either says Rancid or Pantera, but I'm leaning more towards Rancid. Anyone here have any luck?
