So here they were, GD at their best live in 30 years, playing in their hometown, and one of therir biggest arenas/stadiums ever, and give me ONE reason for why they can't publish live footage from this gig??? Just imagine a proper live DVD from this show.... They promoted it SO much and the only difference here is that they had fireworks at the end. Not even kidding. You all know that we have heard 21 guns and welcome to paradise before. Jees.... :( WHY CAN*T THEY GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER AND UPLOAD SOMETHING

I'd be less concerned about uploading promotional material and more concerned about why it appears to have been so empty looking unless I'm missing something?

@Hero_Of_The_Hour I don't think it's empty, that's the only part of the field they were allowed to use (the diamond is blocked off). There's a line at the back and the crowd fills the space front to back and left to right where it tapers off because your view is obstructed. That's a big outfield and more people than it seems. Check out views from the bands point of view and it looks packed.

Have anyone here seen the Facebook livestream from the show?

It's just a brief 360 video of not very good quality. You can turn and see Mike well but Billie's lost in a bright spotlight at the end of the catwalk and there's not much else you can see.  It would have been cool to have an entire song shot in 360 from the pov of the stage.

Green Day have a Facebook page which they could have used a LOT BETTER? Warner are not that in charge about green day recording one song from a show.. Metallica is also under Warner i think and they publish one video from each show

Metallica left Warner years ago, they release under their own label now. This gives them freedom to release as much or as little as they want.

It seems GD have had a really good relationship with Warners maybe because they are such worker ants. I wonder what their current contract requires though as far as album releases and timing. I remember an interview during the trilogy period where they were asked if Uno! Dos!  and Tre! counted as one release or three per their Warners contract and I think it was Tre that answered, "One. We know because we asked."

Yet another reason why a trilogy was a bad idea. Don't even get full credit for all that work.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame the label for Green Day not releasing more live content. There are plenty of bands on the same label that put out a lot more live content than Green Day. I believe that lack of live videos comes directly from the band itself.

My comment really had nothing to do with any decisions to release live content or blaming the label for anything. Just wondering about their agreement in general compared to Metallica's experience.

Do you really think so? Sounds weird to me. Billie, who doesn't even know where the button is to make us all go away, decides if they post videos or not - I don't know.

I'm still desperately hoping that the lack of live material and the fact that they gave no permission for any TV-coverage of the festivals (with some songs at Pinkpop as the only exception) is a strong sign that there's a live DVD in the making.

I mean, they weren't that strict in 2013 (we got Rock am Ring and Reading festival on TV) and they didn't make a live DVD of that tour. So why should they be so strict now AND make no live DVD. That doesn't make any sense.

I still think it's more to do with the band than the label. There are too many other bands with Warner which release a lot more than Green Day. As for Rock am Ring most bands at Rock Am Ring allow their full set to be broadcast Green Days did cut off after a certain point. Still we did get a nice bit of concert footage from it. As for Reading 2013 they only broadcast a few songs from that.  The full Reading 2013 performance that is out there was never on TV and was acquired by accident/illegally by one person who was kind enough to upload it.

Yeh of course it really doesn't make sense AT ALL .. :(

And remember that we had some footage from PinkPop BUT BUT BUT the official Green Day website actually posted a link to AIMEE SMITH'S VIDEOS WHICH SHE CAPTURED FROM THE PINKPOP STREAM HIGHLIGHTS. To mee that is VERY unproffesional by Green Day

I know, but at least they broadcasted something. Right now, we don't get anything at all, which is just so frustrating. :( The Southside and Hurricane Festival in Germany wanted to broadcast parts of Green Days shows and tried to get permission until the very last minute prior to the show, but they didn't get it. I just don't understand this.

This actually makes me wonder whether they will let msnbc broadcast their performance for the global citizen festival in nyc. I sure hope they do, I thought that was my chance to see the show. 😕

And by the way, has anyone here heard any news about the ''American Idiot'' movie?

For sure it must be the promo manager at Green Day or something like that, which don't allow live footage to surface from this tour. BUT WHY WHY WHY WHY

I would blame Billie then, for lack of pro-shot live video..no..I would think it is up to PR and band it is their choice to do live on DVD or on YouTube..

Every artist these days should know what PROMOTION is. And so far GD has been absolutely horrible to promote their tour. but whatever, i have given up on all of this..
