Yeh but do we know how many tickets that are sold?

Well music has changed OF COURSE, which has a lot to say.

Yeah but they'll always be weird dudes :P Anyway it's gonna take some decent promo to change anyone's already made up mind.

And no, I don't think we have any way of knowing. Other than waiting another 13 days

It says still around 640 tickets for the Oakland gig available. So this means:

1. Most likely more than 99% of the tickets for the concert will be sold (which should happen quite soon since around 1% of tickets are still available and the venue's capacity is around 60'000).

2. There's not a lot more tickets to be sold (only around 600), but the tickets are selling quite slowly, so it's anyone's guess wether or not it'll sell out completely or not. Green Day have done a fair bit of promotion on this gig, but they need to step up their game, there's only 13 days to go!

Where are you seeing this? I'd consider that a sell out then tbh!

Of course I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean every single buyer shows up, but my worry was more along the lines of ~thousands not selling so the venue is visibly not filled up.

Since I started tracking the daily viewing figures for the Bohemian Rhapsody video it has averaged between 200k to 400k views per day. However, since yesterday afternoon, it has gone up by 700k! It has gone up by 2.3M since last Monday. Hopefully, GDs promotional team can capitalise on the good work done by the BH video by posting more GD videos (and preferably not old episodes of the Jeff Matika Show)

This is interesting - Somewhere Now seemingly is on the Kerrang playlist, and 22nd most played track this month.

http://comparemyradio.com/tracks/Green_Day/Somewhere_Now

Seems steady airplay, so I wonder if it'll stick there next month. Obviously Billie said it was a UK single, but it's been really quietly done. Rest of Revrad has had awful airplay, even Still Breathing only 7 plays this month, and they pushed that hard.

One other thing, Homecoming has 52 plays this month. I can't see which stations have been playing it, but did something happen to make that popular? Odd.

I don't know where to put this..but?..I heard song RevRad in Japanese's Supermarket past Saturday..i were walking with my cousin looking around then I heard the 'song" and I was like is that?..NO!yes!

Since the UK Rock singles chart was filled with Linkin Park songs (due to the recent death of Chester Bennington :(), it's not surprising that we wouldn't have seen Somewhere Now on the charts this week

Revolution Radio's positions weren't affected since the US Alternative, Mainstream and Rock Airplay charts did not have Linkin Park songs in them.

The promo of the album still feels a little all over the place. If Somewhere Now is a new single, they're barely highlighting it themselves in anyway except for the announcement. It all feels disjointed still.

The Still Breathing lyric video has been reinstated so that you can now see it listed on GDs YouTube channel. The videos with the most views during the Rev Rad era are:

#1 Bang Bang lyric 15.5M

# 2 Still Breathing lyric 13.4M

#3 Still Breathing music video 10.2M

#4 Rev Rad lyric 9.5M

#5 Fans singing Bohemian Rhapsody 8M

Although the BH video has been a great piece of promotion for GD, I still think GD can do more to promote their own videos from this era.

Still breathing (combined lyric + music video) got quite a good number of views. Easily shows how popular that song could have been with better promotion.

I feel like that too..for promotion of the Album..it is very low key.. they did some t.v,radio and then concert...and again T.V,radio and tour..and maybe two music video?..and tour.

Article about the viral video. It's pretty funny how wrong the author got it -- they act like the crowd just got impatient and started singing and nothing like this has ever happened before (they've obviously never been to other Green Day shows)

Haha! How can they not hear the actual track playing?

"Even the performers weren’t aware that they were going to be a part of something extraordinary."

On the upside, I found it when a friend posted it on FB who knows nothing about Green Day so the video is really going around. I did suspect that it wasn't necessarily drawing attention for the band though as the article barely mentions them and talks as if they had nothing to do with it.

That's the thing, a smarter promotional move would have been to somehow connect to /link the video video with some other video of a live performance of Green Day at the same gig. In other words, make use of the increased traffic going to that video. There are many options there (video pop-ups, promoted suggestions, video end card etc.). They should also have advertised that the band are out with a new album and are on tour (self evident I know, but you don't always think about these things as a non / casual Green Day fan...

This may all be too complicated for their promotion team though, as it seems they let a three year old write the video descriptions *sigh*

One cool idea would have been a montage video of crowds singing BR at multiple shows with Hyde Park featured but connecting it to other GD shows by showing it happening all over the world and then ending with a list of upcoming tour dates.

HAHA that's hilarious  if they thought about it for one second they'd realise OF COURSE the band knew, the video is from the stage, filmed the entire song and uploaded on their own channel, it's so fucking obvious it was all planned out, omg.

Hahahaha yes that is so true, just read the description :( it's just so horrible... But why can't they use their success from the BH video and publish more videos while their youtube channel is still ''on fire'' or whatever you want to call it. If we actually finish the WHOLE RevRad tour without getting any official pro shot footage would be a big letdown. BIG.

I almost never hear GD at the radio here in Norway. But guess what, i did a few days ago. And was it RevRad stuff? Of course no :( , we got Boulevard. So the overall promo has failed since they rather play a 13 year old song than a song from their best album in 8 years.

So today we realised that Billie is 10times better than the whole gd promo team (if there is one). Check out the new ''remix'' of fell for you ''otis edition''. Not a very great song imo and i just don't see the point of the release.
