How lucky are we that our favorite band has just released their 43rd single?  How many other bands have accomplished this?   Red Hot Chili Peppers have 44 but they started releasing them a whole decade earlier than our boys.  Green Day really have accomplished so much!

Revolution Radio is a great song and the video is growing on me.  I like the video more knowing that it is tied to the Turn It Around film.  The song can take on different meanings and that is part of what makes a song powerful.  It can take on whatever it is your are going through.

At this point in the promotion of the album, I am fairly certain that I know what's coming next.  After this song has done it's duty on the radio, we'll get nothing followed by "Ordinary World" as a single.   After that, I'm seriously hoping for a fifth single.  It could be any song.   Just do it!

Oh god please not OW! I'm sorry, but I'd like them to release some of the more unexpected songs as singles like BOTW, TDTD, TT, FN etc. Bang Bang was an exciting single but Still Breathing, RevRad, OW? If those were the only 4 singles from the album, how safe would that be? Not that they're bad songs, but SB is an obvious single, RevRad is decent but a safe and boring choice, OW would be the worst choice out of all the songs on the album for a single imo.

Considering BB, SB, RR and OW are the only 4 new songs that actually get played live consistently, it's quite likely OW will be the next single, but I'd much prefer any other song.

I agree that the single choices have been predictable and that it would be amazing to get "Too Dumb to Die" or "Forever Now" as the next one.  Maybe they will surprise us with upcoming singles and they won't be what we expect.

I don't understand why would you care what the next single is. Not like you can't pick the song you want to play at any given time? The music videos other than SB have been boring/lame. i think you caring way too much about it. As long as they put out singles, they should be ok.

The point of singles is to help promote the album which they have pick the best ones that qualify for that. They already got you and everyone else here to buy the album for songs like Forever Now. They are safe for a reason!

I like OW, but I agree with you. I don't want it to be a single. I'm really hoping BOTW is a single, but that's unlikely - it doesn't even have a lyric video. :(

I really doubt there will be a 4th single. They have heavily stalled the release of the 3rd one. And it got a very simplistic video.

It's so sad that they stopped making those lyrics videos. Forever Now definitely needs one!

I don't see why they'd only have 3 singles. Every other album had at least 4 singles (AI, 21CB, the trilogy and Dookie each had 5 singles).

Didn't Warning only have 3 singles? I thought it was 4, but according to Wikipedia, Macy's Day Parade wasn't a proper single. Don't know if that's true or not.

And Insomniac had 5 singles too. Warning and Nimrod are the only albums with less than 5, so I'm presuming RevRad will have 4 or 5 singles.

Yeah I'm not sure about MDP tbh but there was a video released for it. Idk what they intended it to be. Insomniac had 4 singles but Brain Stew and Jaded were released as 1 single

There may or may not ( ;) ) be a different (4th?) single for another region soon.

Why have they stalled it? It's a promotion for Turn it Around which was released like 2 weeks ago or so? So, it was a perfect time to release it a few days ago (I honestly can't remember dates, haha).

Hmm. You're probably talking about this then?

I know, and that makes perfect sense. But I personally think the time gap between the Still Breathing and Revolution Radio singles has been too long. They could have easily released another single in between those two.

And yes does anyone know about the Still Breathing ''campaign''? ;) Haha well too me i just want to ask why..? Because well the idea itself is okay, but they promoted it so badly. I didn't knew before i went to greenday.com . And yes if you look at the ''campaign'' itself, it kind of seems like it's not a success at all, because everytime i check it i don't see one new picture at all.

BTW does anyone think we'll get a concert movie from the upcoming GD tour in South America this year?

i dont know where thats coming from? i just checked wikipedia and the page for Warning cites Macy's Day Parade as a single, it just didn't chart and doesn't have its own page.

on the note of OW, i really don't think it's single worthy. it's simple, i love it, but there's nothing super appealing about it or ear catching. it sounds like just another green day song to most radio listeners and it probably wouldn't be that memorable. TDTD has potential for it, and Forever Now is without a doubt the most single worthy out of the options that aren't used yet.

It says here that MDP was only a promotional single. I think it might be incorrect, though.

Revolution Radio Chart Positions This Week

Canada Rock - #18 (Same as last week)
US Rock Airplay - #35 from #36 last week
US Alternative - #37 from #38 last week
US Mainstream - #13 from #16 last week

So other than on the Mainstream chart, RevRad hasn't made much progress this week in the charts. Hopefully the band will do some promotion to help the single chart higher soon. I honestly would have hoped that the video did more for the single but it hasn't appeared to do a whole lot yet. The track still has not charted on the US Hot Rock Songs yet

Since they taped it for both Colbert and Kimmel, I wonder if/when it'll air.  Part of the problem with Still Breathing was that they started promoting it too late, partially because they were overseas like they are now.  You figure both shows could air the pre-taped performances; the band wouldn't even have to come back to do anything.

Nothing particularly exciting but Somewhere Now is climbing the Kerrang rock airplay chart.  Up to number 27 from 31 last week. Link

Bizarrely it's received more radio play than any other RevRad song in the UK, despite not even having a lyric video.

Somewhere Now has climbed up to 16 on the chart now.  It's also receiving increased airplay on Absolute Radio.

It's Green Day's most played song across all UK stations for the last month, overtaking Basket Case and Holiday (though this is mainly thanks to Kerrang).
