SB is actually played a lot here in Germany on rock radio stations. I've never heard it on a mainstream station (as far as I can tell - barely ever listen to one of them) though. But I think @DookieLukie is right, they don't really care for popularity at this point. They care for their friendship, their health and the kind of music that is important to them. I sometimes even think they enjoy the intimacy of this deeply personal record.

My guess is someone saw that Billie played Ordinary World on Conan and jumped to conclusions that it is a new single. Then they updated wiki. Ordinary World would be a terrible single.

Good Riddance was a single, wasn't it? I think Ordinary World would be a great single. It has such wide appeal. And it was performed so beautifully on Conan.

I agree, I think it can do well, but not on rock stations.  It would have to be pushed to Top 40 or probably Adult Contemporary.

No, the rock stations I listen to don't even touch acoustic songs. But I think it could do really well on a pop station.

Good riddance is a good song though.

GOOD Riddance = Good

ORDINARY World = Ordinary

Still it is worlds ahead of any ballad song we could come up with! I think it'd do as well as any other single from here on out with RevRad would. Beautiful music touches people, apparently the majority of the world can't handle true rock and roll anyway.

No matter guys. I think we already knew that, soon or late, Ordinary World would have been a single. BJ wanted to include it in the new album, buy I still think it's not its place. The album opens with the acoustic guitar of Somewhere Now and I just can't see why it can't close with the same melody in Forever Now. Ordinary World is the uninvited. Maybe it can do pretty well on charts, but according to my musical taste, I find it forced and less deep than the rest of the album (especially SB and Outlaws). I don't know. Revolution Radio would be better choice. And I'm sure about it. :ermm:

Guys are you sure OW is a third single? Maybe it is a wiki-mistake? Billie Joe said that he is working on RR music video, makes no sense.

OW definetely is not the next single. Somebody is just either trolling or jumping to conclusion. I've tried to remove it from the wiki multiple times but this person keeps putting it back up. Neither of the references he gave on the wiki even say anything about OW so there's no source saying this

OW would be a terrible choice. If SB can't enter the Hot 100, OW won't have a chance. SB is a much better song and OW won't do well on the rock chart either. It'll do absolutely nothing. I don't think RevRad would do much either but it'd be so much better as a single than OW.

I didn't know that OW would be a single. I was afraid it would be but I still think there's a good chance of it not being a single. I hope it's not, there's literally 15 songs from RevRad I'd want to be a single before Ordinary World

Guys, I have kind of good news.

I was analyzing the Alternative Rock chart to forecast the performance of Still Breathing.

This is last week's official report by Mediabase:

http://pdf.mediabase.com/PDFChart.aspx?id=097108116101114110097116105118101036036036036049050047049055047050048048054032055058052053058050049032080077

As you can see, the Alternative top 5 is:

1) Judah & The Lion

2) Kings Of Leon

3) Blink-182

4) Green Day

5) Twenty-One Pilots

If we go to check Billboard's Alternative chart, we see it differs:

http://www.billboard.com/charts/alternative-songs

In fact, Green Day are listed #3 and Blink-182 instead #4, even though their song is the greatest gainer of the week.

This week's stats say that Green Day and Blink-182 definitely climbed over Kings Of Leon and now Judah & The Lion are really close:

http://www.mediabase.com/mmrweb/allaboutcountry/Charts.asp?format=r3R

But if Green Day are always put ahead of Blink-182 by Billboard and Still Breathing keeps gaining spins in the next 1/2 weeks it means that the probability of topping the charts are really high.

This would be a great event, since the last time a non-lead single topped that chart was 12 years ago (Holiday). Hopefully... :)

Are you really only 15?  If so you need to consider a career that uses statistics, such as an actuary.

To keep on topic, this is great news!

Thank you.

I love statistics. In fact I'd really like to work in a field like that. :)

Ordinary World is going to be a fourth or fifth single, not a third. It would be weird to not release Revolution Radio as the third single when it's the title track and the cover of the album.

Still Breathing is definitely going to top both the Mainstream Rock chart and the Alternative one. Unfortunately, it won't crack the Hot 100, neither it will make the bubbling under chart at this rate (it is below #500 on iTunes: She's Out of Her Mind by blink-182 charts way higher on iTunes with half airplay). I assume people in the US don't like SB very much

Tomorrow, Monday, Mediabase will start tracking new week's spins. We'll have an indication for SB positions on Mainstream and Alternative. I'm not completely sure on the fact it can top both. But it's very likely to do it. :)

Yes :D I wasn't saying it will top both next week (for sure it won't top Mainstream Rock), but it's almost a fact that it will top them in a few weeks

Been doing double shots of bands here on the classic rock radio and they were on a couple times today. Once I heard Still Breathing and then Basket Case and Boulevard later on. Radio mentioned them in Europe and the other legs of the tour too so that's cool.

Mediabase published (a bit late) new week's first spins:

Still Breathing is temporarily #2, behind just Blink-182 on the Alternative chart.

http://hitsdailydouble.com/mediabase_chart_details&fmt=R3

Let's see how the situation evolves, also with Billboard charts tomorrow. :)

This article says that probably SB will top the chart:

I'm baffled that blink beats out Kings of Leon and the Lumineers. Both Waste a Moment and Cleopatra deserve the top spot more in my opinion.

Yeah, Waste A Moment has been #1 for like 5/6 weeks (I guess), the song is really nice.

After the release of the TT lyric video ,Green Day must release it as a single. In greece, is the third best selling song on the album( after Bang Bang and Revrad) and actually that was before the video. But cause of the video green day is in the news here in big newspapers and tv channels.

"I sit around and browse Billboard, but nothing's on,

I load the chart page for an hour or two.

Twiddle my thumbs upon the screen,

I'm sick of staring at this shit,

in a house where I get bored

and I'm fucking waiting".
