i really, really think you are going to love it. most of the stuff people have been complaining about in this thread is exactly the kind of stuff that i always notice you manage to pull meaning from, if that makes sense. i really think it's some of billie's best lyrics in a long time too which hasn't been mentioned much yet.

"Want to destroy the phrase pop punk forever."

Sorry guys but it is definitely pop punk.

Don't say sorry, pop punk is what I live for and is the reason I fell in love with Green Day, there's a reason they're the biggest pop punk band on the planet.

No it wasn't. The vocals were very clear, RR has so many effects on them.

They're pretty equal in terms of vocal filters. I'd say RR might be a bit clearer.

The album is just growing on me with every listen, and when we get the lyrics it will grow even more.

Still Breathing has to be the best one tho, so powerful. It's right there with Outlaws.

The biggest problem with this album is that's so inconsistent.

Green Day are hardly pop punk. Green Day are no where near as poppy as FOB, New Found Glory, All Time Low ect.

Somewhere now started off kind of sappy, but i'd turn it down unless you wanna get ear raped.

How is Tre's drumming? Think Billie said it is the best of his career....

It's the same as ever. I honestly don't know why Billie hyped it so much. The Bang Bang fill is the most outstanding thing you'll hear from Tre on this record.

But it is really stupid that Billie said "want to destroy the phrase pop punk forever" and then made a pop punk - album...

Maybe a dumb question, but how was this album able to leak nearly two weeks before it was set to be released?

all it takes is one and it spreads like a virus

They're known for it in a general sense, I agree they're one of the more versatile bands in the genre but they definitely fall into the category.

oh my god!!! they ascended! this album is solid! they intentionally filtered it to make it like a 60-70s radio and it's awesome!! it has the influence of Cheap Trick (Bouncing), The Who(Forever Now), Billy Idol (Say Goodbye) and even Guns n Roses! (Somewhere Now) it's 9/10 for me..but to be honest, critics will trash this album from being different

This record is Pop Punk, Punk Rock, Rock, Rock n Roll, Pop Rock, Classic Rock, Pop, Country, Alternative [...].

We can discuss hours about whatever it is, I call it Green Day, this record has the word Green Day branded with fire on every fucking second of music, even on the most original or unusual song.

Outlaws is good. YOungblood is pretty weak. IT sounds like shes a rebel. Bouncing off the wal sounds very interesting too .Kinda sounds like holiday
