That's kind of poor reasoning. Most people didn't listen to Ordinary World, and chances are it'll likely be arranged differently on the album (or at least, I hope it will be).

Why would they take into consideration the hardcore fanbase, instead of their general audience as a whole? People would likely prefer for more songs to be released in advance in order to get a better feel for the album.

For example, what if most of the other songs on the record end up being forgettable? If in reality they are indeed up to par then it'll only spread further good will in favor of the band, inspiring confidence in the fact that the album could actually end up being solid.

I mean, it's nice that the band are aware of the fact that the trilogy was generally considered a disappointment, but saying you've learned from it and actually displaying improvement are two different things.

Ok I realise I didn't word my post well. In my previous posts you will see that I have said that I want a 2nd single before the album comes out- I simply forgot to add this to the last post.

What I was really trying to say is that I don't think we'd have heard more than 2/3 songs before the album is released and that includes Ordinary World being arranged differently. All I want to hear before the album comes out is Bang Bang, the version of Ordinary World from the premiere and a 2nd song. I don't want to hear more than that otherwise it spoils the surprise.

It's like you people were living under a rock for the past few years or something. (either that or you know little about album releases nowadays)

Of course they're going to release a second single, almost all labels/bands release at least 3/4 songs before the release to keep the hype and the album relevant until the release date. For example, before the release of Blink-182's California we got Bored to Death, Rabbit Hole, No Future and Built this Pool.

Probably will get the title track soon and maybe another song in October.

More recently, A Day to Remember did it with Paranoia/Bad Vibrations/Bullfight/Naivety. Shouldn't have to give examples though. It's common practice. Really feel like some people don't listen to any other artists than Green Day.

God, I'll end up so disappointed if the album ends up being on par with California.

I think it's guaranteed to be better than California. Bang Bang proved that this set of songs will be more organic and less contrived than California and to me that already constitutes a better album.

The only official single that Blink releases was Bored to Death.  They may have released otehr songs for people to hear but they were not official singles.  People were talking about GD releasing another official single which would have two competing against each other.

It really isn't necessary to be nasty when people may not understand things.  That is the point of asking questions.

As much as I like the more traditional release process of lead single - album - single 2 etc. I think it's more likely that we'll hear another song before October 7th.  Whether that song is revrad or not I don't know.  Whether it will be an official single or just a released promo track I don't know.  But looking around the scene I can't think of another band that's released just one song before an album in the last year or 2.

Geez, the bitchiness on here is ridiculous. I for one don't buy many albums or pay close attention to the charts.

I think we'll get the video to Bang Bang pretty soon, and potentially another song from the album. If for example, the video came out in the next week we could get another song in, say, three weeks and then the album in 4 weeks.

I haven't checked this thread in awhile. What's going on that everyone's so excited about? Are we getting a new single? Or is the music video to be released soon?

So you think the paris date isn't correct? The tickets should go on sale next friday.

I do think the Paris date is correct. I'm just meaning that I expect the music video to be released within the next twelve days.

But if the tickets go on sale next friday, they definitely should announce the show tomorrow since it's already monday right?

They could just as well announce the show on Thursday if they want to. We'll see if tomorrow brings more news.

Well yeah, I guess I just got confused since I don't think tomorrow or the day after tomorrow is that close to the music video.

But then there'd be no time for presale.

Alright. I don't think the music video will be released before Thursday, but it would make sense to upload it next week or the week after to keep BB's momentum going.

Kind of worried about the fact that they haven't talked much about the second half of the record (i.e. Too Dumb To Die, Troubled Times and Forever Now). Hopefully this album won't come off as front loaded or anything.

Also hoping that Forever Now (if it is indeed a multipart song) ends up sounding more cohesive than Dirty Rotten Bastards, which literally sounded like a bunch of unfinished b-sides sewn together.

Honestly though, I think I'd prefer if Forever Now resembles more of an improvisational/extended jam session, akin to something lke Wow! That's Loud rather than just being another multipart song, because I don't see them ever topping Jesus of Suburbia.
