So now the question is when will Revolution Radio be released and will it be before or after the Bang Bang music video? My guess is we'll have the song within a week and the music video mid to late September.

Definitely after Bang Bang music video.

On iTunes Revolution Radio and Bang Bang are the only songs off the album to have the timings next to them. Therefore, people will presume that this is an indication that Revolution Radio may be the next single.

On another thread before Bang Bang was announced, someone posted a set list that everyone presumed was fake but it turned out to be real. Funnily enough that poster said Bang Bang and Revolution Radio would be the first two singles....

I remember this. They also said Youngblood would be the third single.

I would also like to point out hat if you just google "green day revolution radio" on Google it shows a list of all the songs and their track times. The longest is 5 minutes so sorry guys no super long songs. (It worked on mobile, not sure if it will on a compute. I assume it's using Google play)

edit: sorry guys you're right forever now is almost 7 minutes

I found the post!

The post we are talking about was posted in the ''new song Bang Bang coming August 11th'' thread. I don't know if its possible to quote something from another thread- and in any case the post is massive- so I have put the quote in the spoiler. It was posted on 8th August.

The post is only partially correct.

As you can see from the post the song titles are correct- but in alphabetical order and not the order that they are in on the album. However, they got the release date wrong as its 7th of October not 21-23 October. Also, I remember replying to the post questioning the tour dates- i.e a month to tour the US?!

Spoiler

ALBUM NAME: "Revolution Radio - The Story of An Era"

RELEASE DATE: 21-23 October 2016

TRACKLIST:

Bang Bang [LEAD SINGLE]
Bouncing Off The Wall
Forever Now (That's it?)
Ordinary World
Outlaws
Revolution Radio [2nd SINGLE]
Say Goodbye
Somewhere Now
Still Breathing
Too Dumb To Die
Troubled Times
Youngblood [3rd SINGLE]
Olivia feat. SF Academy Orchestra *Hidden Track*
Devil's Kind (*Bonus Track* - Japan Deluxe Edition Only)

TOUR:

2 US Tours (Starting 10 Oct) , 1 ASIAN Tour (Starting 18 Nov), 1 UK Tour (Not yet known). No European Tour (besides the UK, of course) planned at the moment. Could still happen.

NO CD Distribution is on the works at the moment. Only Digital and Vinyl. Seems like Adeline Records will have the rights to CD Distribution from 12 Jan 2017 onwards...

Also, no CD 'distribution' and no European tour (both being practically confirmed). I wonder if Olivia is indeed the hidden track of Forever Now.

Wonder if we're gonna get any acoustic cuts on the album? Hoping for a little piano as well, at least as a backing instrument.

Would also really appreciate if this album wouldn't recycle any past riffs or melodies.

A little worried about the lack of discussion/description of the back half of the album's tracks, hopefully there won't be a lot of filler.

Would be odd to have an entire orchestra devoted solely to a hidden track.

The runtime for revrad means they've "uploaded" the song to iTunes. I think we will get it within the next days

Honestly would be pretty dope if the band decided to release the album digitally ahead of time, but since physicals are pretty much confirmed at this point then chances are it's likely going to leak within the next few weeks anyway.

Does anyone remember when !UNO! initially leaked?

The guy who posted that was just making "believable" guesses to troll people using the info we knew/was leaked at the time, none of it is true.

I don't think the next single will be revolution radio. I think it'll be still breathing. Just a hunch

Yes it will be.

That post was simply made up of disastrously wrong educated guesses.

You can see it's just a pile of bullshit by the last part

I'm just going to buy the CD at my favorite record store on the morning of release. I think RevRad will be released around the 15th, in tow with the Bang Bang music video.

Why would they release a new single already when the first one is just starting to take off?  Also, they haven't even started to promote the first single.

They can still release the music video next week and RevRad ten days or so later.

Still seems like a close time frame.  They would have 2 singles competing against each other.  Since they haven't started promoting Bang Bang yet, I'm not sure what the purpose would be in having two singles out simultaneously.

Kick promotion into the highest gear. By spreading out across the first three weeks of september, they increase visibility in anticipation of the approaching release

If they put out the title track soon it doesn't have to be a radio single, can just be a promo song like most bands do these days.

I guess.  Still doesn't make any sense to me at all.  Which single do they promote more?  When they go on talk shows, which one do they play?  Does this mean they are not happy with the performance of Bang Bang and will start playing the new single?  It just seems counter productive.  I just looked and the only time I could see that they released a single so close together, excluding the Trilogy, was know your enemy and 21 Guns.  While Know Your Enemy hit the top of the charts, it did not sell anywhere near where 21 Guns did.  It is just curious to me.

Maybe they plan on doing a string of talk shows and other tv promotions towards the end of the month, so having two singles gives them slightly more variety than just having one song to perform X number of times, you know? Just a guess

Let's also not forget the World Cup performance on September 23th. They might want to perform two new songs there, so a second single release before then is very likely.

Unless Green Day's living in the past, they'll release one or two promotional singles before the album release like all the other major rock bands do.

Didn't Blink and RHCP only release one single?

They had Bored to Death, and Dark Necessities, respectively. They're the big singles that they play on talk shows and promote and the radio etc. And then Blink released Rabbit Hole and No Future while RHCP had The Getaway and We Turn Red, which are the promotional singles that they don't promote that much.
