Revolution Radio

My biggest hope for Revolution Radio is to have emblematic songs. When you think of records like Kerplunk, Dookie, American Idiot or even 21st Century Breakdown you automaticly think of songs like 2000 Lights Years Away, Basket Case, Boulevard or Know Your Enemy. Despite you love or not these songs, they marked an era. And maybe the trilogy didn't have those songs strong enough to mark that era (maybe 99 Revolutions, after all). So, I hope this new era will bring song that we will remember for decades because they are good, catchy, clever and play live.

I'm sure BANG BANG will still be roaring in the decades to come

I guess it's too soon to say that.

No its a book cd - you have to put it in a book to listen to it. But thats no problem cause it comes with a book

The official store says "CD featuring bonus photos, art, and lyrics" im confused right now and hoping its a cd album

It means you get the audio CD of the album, but rather than a normal CD booklet it comes with a proper book that features bonus photos and such that aren't in the normal edition.

Man, Green Day is releasing a book version of their albuns since American Idiot, and still people doesn't know anything about it. Of course it comes with a CD, but the booklet is like a book, with a hardcover, and lyrics plus exclusive photos.

just like this:

Also, I don't know if this has already been pointed out, but I think there's a 0% chance of single number 2 before album release - otherwise it would come as another digital download with the vinyl/lyric book prior to the 7th October.  Bang Bang is the only advance download, so it's most likely the only release before the album.  I think this confirms it, although single number 2 was unlikely to come before the album release anyway.

With the trilogy, if you ordered the box set, didn't they just send us emails with a download link as the singles were released? I can't remember if it said downloads of "single #2" and "single #3" on the list of things you get when you purchase it, though.

I think there will be a second single pre-release. My prediction is RevRad halfway through September

I could see that. I wouldn't think it would be a single though, maybe just a release, like they did with Nuclear Family.

Yeah, I doubt a new single will be out before the album, but If there is a new song released I think I won't listen to it (if I can resist).

I don't get why people are still confused by the Book/Booklet coming or not with a CD, jesus christ.

And I do think it's very likely that they're gonna release a second single, probably Revolution Radio.

Someone said on Reddit that the song outlaws is a rap song ft. Wiz Khalifa. lol

We have enough dumb speculation on here as it is, we don't need to bring Reddit into it

The only chance of that being true when you look at the direction of the album would be if Freddie Mercury came back from the grave and rejoined Queen for a new album.

I really hope the ticket sales don't go on sale Labor Day Weekend.. anyone know if Green Day usually does meet and greets or sell VIP packages?

I've never heard of Green Day doing paid VIP packages and would think much less highly of them if they did.

They've done meet and greets in the past, I went to one that Mike Dirnt did on the last tour and it was fun but not as great as meeting them due to sheer determination imo :P If you really want to meet them I recommend getting to the show early and finding the tour buses, then ducking out of the show early and running round to the back to wait for them. Also, hang around nearby coffee places, you may run into them there!

Have I missed something? Why can't there be another release prior to October 7th? Most bands release two or three songs before the album comes out so I would've thought one song's not just possible, but likely!

Off the topic of singles, sorry, but I just noticed that the Revolution Radio cover is VERY reminiscent of the Kill the DJ cover. I know a radio is a radio and there's probably no correlation, but I found it interesting.

The leaked tracklist did indicate a long run time for Outlaws (over 5 minutes). Could be to fit in his verse.

It's like they're burning the radio from Kill the DJ to signify the end of that era. :)

These days bands can easily release multiple songs before album releases, I'd be surprised if that didn't happen this time around. Not necessarily singles though.

It's the way they have worded it, I was confused the first time I read it, the vinyl is mentioned in the contents, but audio cd is not in the booklet contents.

Bundle Includes:

Revolution Radio Lyric Book

Revolution Radio Digital Album

Bang Bang Digital Single

Yeah they did. There were dates when you would receive new songs. However that was a 37 track album as opposed to 12. I doubt we'll get another single until after the release. However we might get an YouTube live post of some songs lol

It also clearly says:

32 PAGE 5 5/8" X 7 5/8" HARDCOVER BOOK WITH CD FEATURING BONUS PHOTOS, ART AND LYRICS

There's even a fucking cd on the Book photo

EDIT: I hate to be a dick with this issues, I really do, but there's lots of people in GDC with genuinely stupid doubts, think guys!

Also, Green Day has literally done the "book+CD" for every record since American Idiot. I didn't understand any of the confusion either. It's pretty much expected now from them.

It's poorly worded, but if you use any common sense, you know what they mean. The CD contains the album, not photos, art, and lyrics... those are the book.

I think, just maybe, since Geezer is coming out in the fall when GD's album is about to drop, they may released 'Devils Kind' as a promotion for both their album and movie?  I dunno.   Also, I read in a thread that had nothing to do with bread that 'Ordinary World' shouldn't be their last track.  If some of the album, or most, I dunno, were about this chaotic world we live in....  than 'Olivia' should be the last track due to the lyric 'this city's in ruins but there's a flower on the crack of the street'.  Meaning hope for the future?
