So the Kerrang interview confirmed a 45 minutes long record. The tracklist from IG is 44:28 long (I hope my math is correct :D), can we assume this is completely accurate? If so, Forever Now is a 6:52 minutes song and the excitement is already growing up on me :runaround:

Soo...this "Devil's Kind" song that premiered at Tribeca. Any chances it'll make the record under a different name?

Also...why do I have this random quote from "thatdude03"? I guess I was trying to quote a post of his several days ago but I opted against responding and now I can't get it out of the "reply" box. Not the first time this has happened (sorry if it tags you, bruh).

When you have a quote or something you can't clear, his the 'Clear Page' icon in the toolbar of the editor

I NEVER knew this and a lot of times I struggled to get rid of the wrong quote. Thank god there is a simple solution for this!

Am I alone in hoping the whole album doesn't revolve around WAR and GUNS and SOLDIERS? :( Lyric-wise I kind of miss old Green Day.

I am ok if the whole thing isn't about war guns and soldiers!

It won't. Sounds like there's a maybe two or three songs like that. A couple love songs, a song about drug addiction. It seems like a pretty good mix of current events and personal stuff.

So is outlaws actually about the green day fans? Also, does anyone know if Ordinary World was played at last year's Geezer performance in CA or not? I thought it was but I can't find it anyway.

It was played in the NY Geezer performance.  You can look on Youtube, I believe there are performances.  If you can't find one I have a shitty one that I recorded, I can send it to you

Oh sorry, I forgot about the other preview :)

Does anyone know/remember if there was a (big) difference between the performance of Ordinary World in November last year and the one at the Geezer premiere? Like, was the song structure exactly the same?

@James11693 if you mean the show at 41 Ocean you can find the full concert starting from this video, but I think they didn't play Ordinary world that time. Or there is also another concert?

Kind of wondering the same thing. I don't remember if there was a previous performance of Ordinary World.

If you google "Green day ordinary world" putting a custom time range that ends before the 2016 Geezer premier nothing shows up, so I guess that was the first time it was played.

You are not.  ;)  It's not to say that I think they need to start writing jerk-off songs again but, yes, I could stand a break from the political.  (READ: the trilogy doesn't count, IMO)

I don't expect the album to be all about guns and soldiers, but I do think that it will be about more serious subjects.  Billie did say the album is supposed to reflect the current state of chaos.  That doesn't mean it is all going to be dark, just that I don't think we will be hearing songs about partying, sex or less "important" subjects.  They can still get their ideas across about more serious subjects in a fun way.  They've done it before I don't see why they can't do it again.  I have said this before, but I like that they are ending the album with Ordinary World.  It just seems like a proper end of an album about chaos in the world to end with a song about the importance of the little things in life.  It kind of ties it all together and if done properly would show what your priorities should be.

I like that too.

None of their albums are about guns and soldiers anyway? You have the odd song on AI/21CB, but I don't actually think of those albums as political. Their songs often reflect on things that are on Billie Joe's mind, and one of those things is obviously the gun violence in America. I don't think all the songs will be about that though!

This would be terrible, but I don't think that'll be the case with the album.

Where did Green Day even get this reputation of being about the military or "anti-military" or whatever? My partner absolutely fucking hates Green Day partly because he thinks they hate soldiers/America and it's like no????? their songs very rarely allude to the military at all??? 21 Guns (his favorite punching bag hehe) isn't even about war in my opinion, it's about love and relationships and internal struggle. I mean, I don't really care because he's allowed to like what he likes and hate what he hates but it just puzzles me that he even thinks that at all! I think the over-arching thing Green Day doesn't like is the people in power using their power selfishly and manipulating the public to go along with it. That's probably the least anti-American sentiment I can think of tbh.
