Enough with this "I don't like anything" BS.

Anyways, it's pretty good. I'm not in love with them doing another political record, but I enjoy the music a lot. The rawness, energy, catchiness. They actually sound inspired. Solid first single.

I dunno why you're getting all this manufactured flak from people for "not liking anything." It's not like you come on GDC often to mindlessly hate on Green Day???? christ.

I agree with you that this finally sounds inspired. The Trilogy was a disgrace in that regard, it all sounded forced imo. I was glad to see Billie acknowledge that in the RS interview, too. I'm very pumped for the album as a whole if the frame of mind they were in when they created Bang Bang was how they approached the album as a whole.

Yeah i'd rather have them inspired to release an album then just put something out.  That's not good.  Even though I loved the trilogy set.

This forum has been sensitive for years when it comes to negative opinions against the band's music. Oh well, just being honest and not a homer.

Agreed on BJA's comments on the trilogy, we share similar opinions on that subject. I'm excited for the new album.

Well to me they have never made a bad album, its just some are better than others.  Anytime a band makes a album that I don't like its very rare that I buy anything from them again after that.  Green Day will not be one of those bands for me.

Really makes me curious to see how Ordinary World sounds lol

From what I remember in the movie it sounded nearly identical to the performance

Dos is a bad album. It just is. It has one good song on it and everything else is so goddam terrible.

edit: oh you said "to me" in your post. I'm still leaving what I said because I hate wasting any chance I get to trash Dos

To me I just rank albums for favorites to least.  But I don't dislike any of their work.  Shame you did though.

Same. I honestly thought the trilogy felt inspired. Maybe not all the songs, but most of em. IDK maybe I'm crazy lol. They definitely had to feel inspired though, the songs kept coming

ME TOO! :runaround:

It's the closest I'll ever get to having a Green Day song named after me, so it better be good. :P

Also, "Green Day reads GDC" pretty much confirmed?

Once upon a time, back in the dark year of 2014, GDC was quivering on the brink of self-destruction. Cliques ran rampant, infighting and forum drama were at untold heights of pettiness, internet merry-making of all types was frowned upon, and internet merry-makers were swiftly banished via the frequent usage of suspensions by the Evil Mods.

Enter the man... the legend...... the leader of the internet merry-makers himself.... @rootbeersoup. He banded the banished together and named us the OUTLAWS. For months, he and his band of #outlaws roamed GDC, making light of everything and enjoying the game of cat and mouse they played with the Evil Mods. Over time, the outlaws were no longer needed, but some say they still lurk on GDC, watching and waiting. Their actions inspired Green Day to write "Outlaws." So it goes.

tl;dr, super meta-injoke.

Cackling. Nicely done. 10/10

I don't think they weren't inspired I just think for once they wanted to give the fans more music than 12-16 tracks.  The problem to me was the guitars weren't aggressive enough and the album really should have been a double album.  I like the tracks but there were songs that were weaker than others.  aka troublemaker, little boy named train, wow that's loud.

Idk I liked Dos lol. I know it gets a lot of crap and it definitely isn't great, but I thought overall it was good .Definitely not as solid on a full listen compared to uno and Tre though.. sorry, I'm getting off topic lol back to Revrad

I like how to be even more secretive Green Day created a new secret hidden recording studio because some people knew about the other secret hidden recording studio

Completely agree! Though, the solo and bridge on Troublemaker is awesome haha

Uh I don't know about all that, out of these albums the only one that had a point and actually wasn't trying to get radio play was to pimp a butterfly.  Beyonce wasn't saying anything she hasn't said on every other album, men are dogs and you can be replaced.  Can't speak for the other ones.

Nothing that you said has any relevance to the point that I was making. I was responding to the fact that a poster said that Revolution Radio's cover art is better than most modern covers and I selected a group of covers to show that there are still great ones to this day, even coming from major artists. Beyonce's cover is striking, it's really simple but it has a nice since of mood to it. Revolution Radio's cover just looks like the most obvious thing it could have possibly have been "Let's light a boombox on fire! You see because the fire represents the revolution, and the radio represents the radio.".

Beyonce's cover isn't a picture of a fucking lemon.

Rihanna-Anti.jpg

This one is from Rihanna and it too is really eye catching and unique.

It has a couple good songs, but it's a terrible album.

you know the music was good but i felt the chorus wasn't that great.  However whenever i listen to the triple album i play it all the way through.  Don't feel like its album 9, 10 and 11 since the record label considered it one release and even the band said its one major theme so.

What was all that about them angry with Rob Cavallo?   Where did that come from?  He's been hanging out with them, probably in the studio and I bet he even helped.  He just isn't "THE producer".     Is there a rumor that he was the one to blame for C & V going missing?    I doubt it.

I've been on and off of here since 8AM.   I have to go before my eyeballs explode into flames.     Revrad looks to be yet another great album. etc etc.  I know I will love it, but my hope is that I will like it so much, it will become one of my favorite Green Day records.  (as I've said before, my top three are Idiot, Warning and Nimrod.)  Could Revrad knock one of those three out of my top picks?  I'd be thrilled for it to take even 3rd place but it would be epic if it were to take Idiot out of my #1 spot.      Good Night!

well i remember that during 21st century they didn't just go to butch, apparently there was a serious problem with rob.  And in a joking manner the band said he said he was very sorry and that's why they worked on the triple album.  Not trying to start anything rumor crap I just feel like he should be there helping them produce but i don't know maybe they are just trying to do something different maybe I don't know.  But I do strongly believe that cigarettes and valentines was not stolen, I personally believe the songs are still around and either are stored away or became other songs.  Never quite sat with me well with that one.

I'm still a bit conflicted on the album cover. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It's just kind of meh for me. Loved the Bang Bang artwork and was kind of hoping to see more of that style for the album cover. All well. I have new Green Day, so I shouldn't bitch.

I doubt Rob cares they self-produced. It's already documented that they brought demos to him to hear his input. They respect Rob and he knows that, but they really don't need him anymore. The dude is also the head of Warner Music now (?) and Green Day helped get him there. Doubt there's any animosity.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I noticed on iTunes that Youngblood is the only sing with an explicit warning on it.

OH WOW!  I did not know that.  So pretty much they may be just doing their own albums from now on.  That's great.
