True. Hell, even Jinx is a more interesting title than literally every song on this new album.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I've listened to songs with generic titles that were incredibly good and also to songs with unique titles that sucked ass. Homecoming isn't a particularly interesting song title, but damn, that track is good.

Well, thinking about it again, When the Wild Wind Blows is pretty bad.

Seems that and Revolution 9 are probably 2  exceptions to the mildly flawess theory. Blackstar is a good track as well, even though I'm not sure exactly what the meaning of the video is.

Yeah, honestly it looks like the cover to a crappy overproduced heavy metal album. There's no style to it, and it being against a blank black background makes it seem like it was slapped together really quickly. Plus it's honestly a little on the nose given the title of the album.

Idk I mean it's on the lyric book and vinyl on the website. I'm pretty sure this is it. I am hoping it's a different photo though.

But still, those albums had titles like Prosthetic Head, Good Riddance, Platypus, Fashion Victim, Macy's Day Parade, Deadbeat Holiday etc. There isn't a single memorable title in the bunch on this album. And I'm not necessarily equating the originality or creativeness of the title to the actual quality of the songs themselves, but there isn't really a title here that makes me think "I wonder what that song is about".  There's no interesting or colorful word choices.

True. But then again, everyone was excited to hear A Little Boy Named Train based on the title and then most people were let down by it.

The track lengths are driving me nuts.  I was so happy when I saw one song was 9:52 seconds.  But now....who knows?   I don't.

Yes, that's exactly what it looks like to me. If I didn't know GD and saw the album at a store I would stay away from it xD

Am I the only one who loves that cover? Sure, it could use a bit more flair and decoration, but I love the flames.

I checked the track lengths earlier today. I remember that the longest song was (I believe) Forever Now, clocking in at around 7 minutes.

You're not the only one. It's better than a lot of modern album covers. It gives off the sense of anger from the album.

Nah, I really like it too. Just feels like there should be more too it though imo.  It's better than most covers nowadays but I don't like it more than Green Days other covers .

Am I the only one that liked, but not loved the song? To me, Bang Bang sounds like it could have fit somewhere in the trilogy. For some reason it reminds me a bit of Stop When Red Lights Flash.

We've heard Bang Bang and a live performance of Ordinary World, two very different tracks.   Perhaps the entire album will be filled with variety, that would be awesome!  I could see Ordinary World becoming the next Good Riddance and Bang Bang being the next American Idiot.

I definitely hope so! Billie said in the live video earlier though that if you like Bang Bang, you will like the album. Judging by that, I feel like most of the songs will sound like Bang Bang. Who knows how ordinary world will sound either, i'm sure it's at least a little different than what we've heard from the Geezer performance.  I really hope these songs go big though! I wanna see good music on top

In the Facebook Live video, Billie said that if we like "Bang Bang" we're going to really like the rest of the songs. That would indicate they're in a similar vein, at least to me.

EDIT: @James11693 beat me to it.

I guess the title "Revolution Radio" doesn't have to do with destroying pop punk considering what Billie said in the rolling Stone interview. I wonder what the actual meaning will be

Really makes me curious to see how Ordinary World sounds lol

I don't know about that, there's a lot of great album covers that have been released by some major artists lately:

They're all simple in concept, but they all have an interesting/provocative stylistic aspect to them.

I don't think he necessarily means it in that vein. I have to imagine there's gonna be a variety to them. He did refer to Ordinary World as a ballad, and I would assume a couple of other tracks will also be slower paced as well. I'm hoping that there will also be various instrumental flourishes throughout the album to help make the individual tracks be more distinctive from one another. If they all end up being in the same vein as Bang Bang I could easily see this album all blurring together.

Yeah but this is GDC, they don't go looking for that stuff!

So without digging through many pages, you finally liking something from them or is Bang Bang just ok?

Uh I don't know about all that, out of these albums the only one that had a point and actually wasn't trying to get radio play was to pimp a butterfly.  Beyonce wasn't saying anything she hasn't said on every other album, men are dogs and you can be replaced.  Can't speak for the other ones.

Does anyone believe there is a beef going on again with Green Day and Rob Cavallo.  It may be nothing but the last time that they didn't work with him was after AI and apparently the rumor is it has something to do with the tracks for ciggarettes and valentines.  Regardless that is speculation but for him not to be a part of this just seems odd.

Enough with this "I don't like anything" BS.

Anyways, it's pretty good. I'm not in love with them doing another political record, but I enjoy the music a lot. The rawness, energy, catchiness. They actually sound inspired. Solid first single.

I agree, I don't see a problem with the song.  Frankly its nice to see them come back out with some serious aggression.  My boys are already humming the words and bobbing their heads when we played it today. lol
