Have you tried playing Somewhere Now??  That is so much fun, one of my favorites to play

Yes! The first verse is so catchy on the bass. And the final riff... Wonderful. :)

I love playing that one! Youngblood is fun to play, gained a lot of respect for it through playing it, very awkward timing to get on the youngblood's. Revolution Radio may be one of my favorites to play. Specially with the bass player!

Personally, I feel that RevRad is one of those records that keeps getting better each time I listen to it. Like I mentioned a few pages back, it's full of angst and emotion, which I believe to be the catalyst fuelling and driving the album. Every time I listen to it again, I constantly find new little nuances and things I notice that I just love, and I take time to appreciate the reason that they may be there. There's so many different things going on here that there is bound to be a song that most people can relate to and enjoy! My personal favourites are Say Goodbye, BOTW, Still Breathing, Troubled Times and Forever Now, because of all the angst, the energy, the emotion. Each one of these songs (and every one on RevRad, for that matter :P) makes me feel something inside and makes me stop what I'm doing and reflect, basically just on life in general and appreciating all that's good in life, even amongst the things that aren't so great. I feel that RevRad resonates with something in me and makes me want to speak out for what I believe in and letting myself be heard, no matter what the majority thinks.

I think Forever Now is still my favorite song off of RevRad. It's a really fun song to play on the drums also. Troubled Times has actually grown on me surprisingly. I still don't like Outlaws that much. Oh well.

Today I listened to the whole GD discography to celebrate my first 4 years with GD (and my nickname's birthday ). I chose to put RevRad at the end of my "journey". I think it was the best decision of the month.

Seriously, I thought that after 160+ songs I could get bored to listen to RevRad too (also because I played the bass). I was wrong. Completely wrong. Today I finally understood that RR is a piece of my heart. No matter if it's good or bad for people. I love it. :)

Warning is my favourite Green Day album, and in the past few days I've been listening to both warning and RevRad back to back and at I cant decide which one I like more. I presume in time I will sway back towards warning but for now I'm really enjoying RevRad. I'll admit to skipping songs here and there every so often but I can never skip Still Breathing, Youngblood and Too Dumb to Die. Those 3 songs in a row are just perfect to me. Bang Bang is another I'll never skip and I still turn the volume up more for that song :) can't wait to hear it live next summer :runaround:

I've got nearly three weeks off school so I'm definitely gonna spend some time re-listening to the entire GD discography! And same! I feel like I can relate really strongly to RevRad

I'm off school tomorrow  for 2 weeks and I have a half day. So I'm gonna play the fuck out of GD's music when I'm off

Wait, it means that you turn the volume down when Troubled Times begins, right? I don't agree... Or maybe TT is so powerful that doesn't need a volume boost.

For me its -23 days. "I'm having trouble trying to sleep".

Well we expect a huge detailed review about every little detail! You going to just the first show, or all 4 in Italy?

Nah it's just I feel I need to listen to bang bang at maximum volume to get the most enjoyment out of it :P

I think one of the more interesting takeaways from RevRad is that it kind of proves the Trilogy would have been a lot better and more "Green Day" with different guitars/drums, changes in vocals, and maybe a bit more effort. "Youngblood" is just as poppy and goofy as a Trilogy song, but the guitars are harder. "Outlaws" is one of my favorites, but it sounds a lot like an improved version of Wild One. Even the title track sounds like something from UNO or TRE. I think the Trilogy will be looked back on more fondly in the future.

Where the b-sides at?

Unlikely to be released anytime soon according to the band. We have no names of any songs that didn't make the album, besides True Colors which appeared briefly as a 13th track on a Brazilian site.

The album has grown on me considerably since first listen. I now think it's their best after AI, although that's still light years ahead of all their stuff (and any other album for that matter).

Forever Now has gotten better with each listen. I thought Dirty Rotten Bastards was decent enough, but paled in comparison to JoS and Homecoming. I think Forever Now is up there with those two and I hope they play it on the tour.

Highlights from the album in order: Bang Bang, Forever Now, Troubled Times.

Honourable mentions: Still Breathing, Revolution Radio, Too Dumb to Die

Are you implying that every other GD album besides AI and RR sucks?

No not at all. I just rate AI so highly compared to everything else, but I still love their other albums.

Essential New Music: Green Day’s “Revolution Radio”

Revolution Radio could serve as a career overview for the few remaining people on earth who’ve never heard Green Day. If you fancied the operatic bloat of the trio’s 21st Century Breakdown period, you’ll love punk power ballads “Something New” and “Outlaws.” Similarly, expect the seven-minute “Forever Now” to be optioned for a Broadway play within a week of album release. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the breakneck “Bang Bang” could be a mid-’90s Insomniac outtake. Or maybe Nimrod is your bag, in which case you’ll appreciate when acoustic lullaby “Ordinary World” finally unseats “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” as the sappy go-to graduation song next May. Don’t get me wrong; there are some great songs here, albeit in need of some 40-grit sandpaper to strip off the sheen. Perhaps both the best and worst you can say about Revolution Radio is that it sounds exactly like Green Day.

Is "Something New" a hidden bonus track? :really::lol:

Where are these imaginary horns on Bouncing Off the Wall

The only place where I can maybe (if you really believe) hear them is at 1:32 in the final portions of the solo. The strings are being bent but it also sounds like something else in the background.
