I feel offended when someone says they didn't like this album, now I know how a lot of you feel when someone says they don't like Insomniac lol.

To me is so good that it's actually my second favorite :P

I guess I can see why someone wouldn't like Insomniac if they weren't born or were only 1 or 2 when it was released. I don't think you will find anybody who lived through that crazy Green Day era who would say they didn't like it. Undeniably amazing!

I was born 6 years after Insomniac came out. I love it as hell. My favorite GD album.

But then they wouldn't like Dookie, Nimrod or Warning. It's not the age, is just taste, some people like some things, some people don't, is that simple :P

Does 'Outlaws' remind anyone else of 'Lupe Brown' by The Fratellis?

Yes, they are similar chord progressions, different BPM though

Glad it's not just me that can hear a similarity! The first time I listened to 'Outlaws' it really bugged me because I couldn't remember what song it sounded like, and I couldn't just enjoy the song. lol!

CC: @wood

I blame you for people CCing things on GDC now.

Sorry for being thick, but what's this CC about?

This is extremely difficult for me to admit, but here it goes: I actually like this album. Not every song, though.

I'm trying so hard to get into this album, but I think it just sucks. Forever Now is really good, but other than that, it was a let down...

Writing is bad, production is bad, mixing is bad... Damn, Green Day.

Aww they didn't impress you upon the first listen? Like a lot of fans, you were just expecting too much. They did a hell of a job! Anything BUT a let down, and I love raw music that is not overproduced.

Yeah, that's what I think. IMO they did the best thing. An album not too much raw (like Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod), but at the same time, not too similar to AI and other recent albums. They could decide between a political album (AI) or continue on the path of the Trilogy. They did both. This album is the arithmetic mean of all their works, having anyway its own and particular soul. RevRad is exactly what I wanted to listen from GD.

After having the album for 2+ months I really think it's one of their best. There's not a song on here I don't love. I also appreciate how the album showcases their raw talent by not having outside producers and other people working on it. Definitely one of their top 5 best albums for me!

I mostly agree, there is one song I hate, other than that I love every other song on the album.  Plus, I love that they tried so many different things musically on this album.  I think it is one of their most musically diverse if not their most musically diverse album.  I think it shows alot of growth

Can I ask you what is the one you hate? My least favorite on RevRad is surely OW.

Because, compared to their other albums, RevRad isn't good.

Funny, I thought I didn't have to say anything, I thought everyone knew.  I love OW, I think it is a beautiful little song and perfectly ties the album together.  The only song I hate, and I truly feel it is one of the worst songs Billie has ever written, is Youngblood

I disagree, I actually think it is one of their best albums.  It is very diverse musically and I find it to be the most personal album they have ever done.

My current favorites are Outlaws, Youngblood and Forever Now. It really already feels like a classic GD album.

Two months later, I skip Troubled Times consistently and Outlaws occasionally. All others I love. Not bad.

Talking about disliking or skipping I tend to skip BOTW, it has no emotion on me. Lesser version of Know Your Enemy which I already don't like too much. Same goes to Revolution Radio (99 Revolutions with AI-sound) except for that aggressive intro.

Also I usually to stop listening to Outlaws at some moment not because it's bad but I find it way too long (you need to be in a special kind of mood to appreciate all its power and nostialgia).

Everything else I just love. Troubled Times grew on me (the guitar melody in the chorus and the bass in the verses are very well done) and Youngblood is too fucking catchy and fun too hate it.

I don't like YB that much. But I discovered it's so fun to play on the bass as if it was a guitar, with power chords on the D and the G strings.

Have you tried playing Somewhere Now??  That is so much fun, one of my favorites to play

I don't play drums, but I would imagine it is.

Agree on those tracks being the 2 worst on the album.  Album is pretty good overall, but not close to GD's best work.
