aydge89
On first listen my favourites are Bang Bang, Troubled Times, Revolution Radio and Still Breathing. Weakest are Outlaws and Bouncing off the Wall.
Invention Convention
Just going through my lyric book, reading through the credits... "Trumpet on "Bouncing Off the Wall" by Ron Blake" am I the only one who has never even recognized there is a trumpet on this track? I still can't hear it??? HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
On Vinyl it's everything is even more gorgeous, especially Still Breathing, Somewhere Now and Outlaws . I also love the cover art now now that I can touch it 23 minutes ago, Invention Convention said: Just going through my lyric book, reading through the credits... Now that I know it, listening the track through the Vinyl or the FLAC file I can definitely hear it during the "Cause it's all that I want and I want to be free" part. stories and songs
7 hours ago, Harry Potter. said: This might seem like a trivial point but I really appreciate the fact that the breaks between songs are kept to a bare minimum, 1-2 seconds. It makes the album flow better and besides I hate it when I have to wait really long between album tracks like on California. I've always appreciated that Green Day knows how to END a song. There's a finality to many of their songs. So often it seems like songs (in general) just fade out or there's a long pause at the end and it's annoying. Second favourite son
The red vinyl looks so good, much better than the pic on the website! Too bad I can't listen to it
Libertine Angel
I've listened to it a couple more times and I still don't love it at all, being used to it means I'm not as disappointed as the first listen but it's still just palatable decent to me. I am disappointed with Mike's playing though, apparently he took bass lessons to think of new ways to play but I can't think of any point where the basslines are at all interesting, they follow the guitar (or the other way round, it doesn't matter) but that's it. The Grohl
So I've only listened to it once, but I really like it so far. I feel like it's a culmination of all the different sounds Green Day have done in the past. Some of the songs really surprised. And others I thought I wouldn't like but they won me over in the end. I can't wait to hear it again so I can form a better opinion of it. I do kind of wish there were more roaring songs like Bang Bang, but I don't think I'm disappointed with a single one. I even liked Ordinary World, which felt a little out of place on the album to me. As someone else earlier said, this album is definitely a grower. A lot of the songs don't reach out and grab you by the balls like on AI or something, but I can tell the more I listen to it, the more I'll like it. That Dude
20 hours ago, MikeDirntConfused said: I will, man. Green Day's the only band I really like, so I want to like this album. I hated uno upon first listen but then it grew on me, same with 21st. I hated American Idiot on first listen and now it's my #1 favorite. I had heard the title track and Holiday before the release but nothing else and I will never forget when Jesus of Suburbia started and I was utterly disgusted. I thought it had too much reverb and that the different parts didn't fit together. Now I consider it one of my favorite songs of all time. My first listen to RevRad, the only new song that clicked for me was Say Goodbye. As the record ended I panicked. I was like "Wow, they finally made an album I don't like". The lyrics seemed awkward and strange. But I skipped around the record, playing and replaying certain songs and by the end of the second day of listening nonstop, I had them all memorized. I bet I was very entertaining to the people parked around me, because I was practically jumping up and down in my seat as I was opening the packaging. (Side note: Best Buy didn't have ANY Green Day. Had to go to Target. Boo, Best Buy.) I have my favorite dudes back. REALLY back. I missed them like crazy, and I'm just ecstatic right now. SUCH a good album to listen to while driving with the windows down. I'm in love. I got mine at Best Buy but had to search and search for it. Not on the music rack, but a little tiny displace near the front of the store. They had about 6 copies of it. It's really sad, but most stores near me are that way. The music section (if there even is one) is small and dilapidated. At Walmarts in my area, you can forget getting a new release when it comes out. You might find it a month later if you are lucky. moonj17
I was in the car with my mom a few weeks ago and Bang Bang was playing. My mom turned to me and said, "They must be really into Led Zeppelin." (Side note: my mom is into classic rock and doesn't like GD at all - she thinks all their songs sound the same.) I was thinking, wow, what is she noticing about this song that I missed? Is there some subtle Zeppelin influence? I asked her why she said that and she replied, "Because he keeps saying 'Bang Bang, Jimmy Page!'" Maybe you had to be there, but I thought it was pretty funny and every time I listen to the song since that day, that's what I hear!

PurpleIron1039
I normally totally agree with this guy on most of his reviews (he mainly does metal reviews so he hasn't covered GD since Uno in 2012), but I think I'm gonna have to be at loggerheads with him on the subject of RevRad. Still an interesting look at the record, though.
That Dude
Everyone turn to page 7 in your booklet. There is a list of the songs on the left hand side but the order is different. Somewhere Now, BANG BANG, RevRad, Outlaws, Say Goodbye, Still Breathing, Too Dumb to Die, Troubled Times and then.....there's another one underneath that I can't make out. Looks like "Age Of Forever" (What in the world is this!!!!!!) on the next page is Young Blood and "better way to die" (possibly Forever Now's old title). Freaky. He's more open-minded than most about unpopular bands and I think is a pretty fair reviewer most of the time. I just disagree with him about RevRad; I think it's way more than a 75%. MaraGreenDay
So, I'm not good with words but I want to write my feelings about this album, so there you go... I'm so in love with it. Wow this is such a beautiful amazing record! All the songs are amazing, the music, the lyrics, everything! So much Beatles and classic rock, I can't describe how happy that makes me. Billie's voice sounds so beautiful and Mike and Tre sounds so fucking amazing! I'm celebrating this album with lots of love, after reading the interview with RS I haven't stop thinking how the band almost didn't make it, we almost lost them and that thought keeps bugging me, So that is why I'm so grateful for this album and seeing them happy and excited to be back. My favorite song, till now and after my sixth listen, is Outlaws. Omg that fucking song made me cry the first time I listen to it and I listened to it at the bus earlier today and I cried again lol, I'm so in love with it, I actually have a video in my head for that song haha. My other favorite is Youngblood Don't know why you hate it! It's so funny and cute and I repeat it like 10 times on my first listen of the album and I couldn't stop dancing, loved it, LOVE IT, it sounds so Beatles! I love Outlaws! And Ordinary World is another favorite, makes me cry everytime I listen to it, Billie's voice is so beautiful on this song, love the "Baby I don't have much, but what we have is more than enough, Ordinary World" Troubled Times sounds like "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" omg I loved that! The intro for Say Goodbye ("Say goodbye to the ones that we love...") sounds so sexy lol. I love Outlaws! I swear, Too Dumb To Die sounds like a Vince Neil song!! I just can't remember the name, I will, I promise! Haha. Love BOTW! I just wanna dance to it! I love Youngblood! The only song I just can't get into is Somewhere Now, and I don't know why, but I just can't, something feels off and I hate that, But I'm sure I just need to listen to it a few more times. And did I said that I love Outlaws? lol sorry. I love this album so much. This is my Green Day, this is what I was waiting from them and I'm not disappointed. I'm just praying for a tour here in México, I really really want to see them live with this new era cause it sure will be amazing! I love you Green Day, thanks for keep making this beautiful great music, never stop, please

PursuitOfEpicness
This is literally their catchiest tunes if we are looking at it from a surface level. After the lack of good lyrics on the trilogy i really appreciate this reflective, deep approach on the lyrics. It's just... so good ughh i'm so in love with this album! James11693
I love this album, so happy with how it turned out. It sound alike classic Green Day but honestly has such a fresh sound to it. Full of energy, good lyrics, good vocals, awesome instrumentation. On a side note, am I the only one who absolutely loves Say Goodbye? Lol
