Took me about 3 or 4 listens & then I was hooked.

Second time around I was enjoying it. Also couldn't stop singing 'Say Goodbye' while trying to write a Frankenstein essay in period one this morning. That was tough.

Nothing at all yet.  Not that that's surprising based on their record so far.  If it's here by the time I wake up I'll be happy, I'm still hopeful :)

I'm more annoyed that my parcels probably won't be here until Saturday, unless they travel a long way overnight.

Just got my download.

Ok for the Aussies when I received the download - the email said we apologize for any inconvenience but some of the orders arrived damaged & there will be a delay in getting them.

I just have to say, since so many people are comparing the new songs to The Beatles....I mean, some of you seem to have such a hard time dealing with the 'repetitive' or 'silly' lyrics on some of the songs here but totally cool with 'repetitive' lyrics from the Beatles? why? cause someone once told you the Beatles is everything, so you just accept it? How is "we all live in a yellow submarine" any more serious than "I feel like a cello lost somewhere over the rainbow?" how is "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" any less repetitive than "we live in troubled times"?

I mean, I'm just curious...discussion purposes.

Doesnt Lucy in the sky with diamonds mean LSD

many people think so, but it was denied over and over again that it meant that.

Not all the new songs sound like the beatles.  And I know when I said some songs reminded me of the beatles it wasn't the lyrics it was the melody.  I don't remember anyone comparing the lyrics.

No, no one specifically mentioned lyrics for lyrics - but the fact remains that many people live up the anus cavaties of The Beatles unconditionally, and many comparisons have been made, so ...??? Why is it okay when band x does something but not band y? Just curious. I'm not trying to cut down The Beatles in any way (I also enjoy their tunes), just an observation. Why so critical over one and not the other? Ps - I'm a little tipsy and stoned so apologize for typos in advance.

Is that why you are making no sense?  Plenty of people are critical of the beatles.  They gave been called over rated and overly poppy.  They have plenty of silly songs, but they also have plenty of diverse, musically difficult ones as well.  I dont know anyone that loves them unconditionally definitely nor anyone on this forum.  Plus, you have only mentioned their silly songs.  Troubled times has been compared to while my guitar gently weeps and their is nothing wrong with that

Wow, I do make perfect sense, don't be a fucking asshole because we don't see perfectly eye to eye. Im open to all views, which is why I'm commenting in the first place...I'm just trying to start a conversation.

And the whole point is that is everyone can accept the diversity in the music of the Beatles, why aren't people open to the diversity in GD's music? That's what I was getting at.

No, I mean that was a pretty shitty nonsensical response to what I said. I make perfect sense - if you don't agree that's totally fine, but I still make sense in what I'm saying.

Its not how I read it - you said don't be a fucking asshole because we don't see eye to eye - perhaps you could word it better.

To me, the cello line doesn't fit with the song at all. It's a very serious song about growing up and feeling lost and wondering where to go from there, and then he says he feels like...a cello...lost...somewhere...over the rainbow.... ? It's not that one can't enjoy silly lyrics but as with all things, there is a time and place. Paul didn't sing "Let it be, let it be, in a yellow submarine."

Yeah you're right, maybe i could have worded that better and I apologize if it came off hostile - Kind of like you saying my opinion made no sense when it does. It's not like I said "blue green eggs ham Sam I am." I brought up a legit view point. But anyway I'm not trying to be an asshole myself, I just have a very foul mouth, apologies.

I definitely don't take Too Dumb To Die as seriously as a song like Let It Be. No way. None of the lyrics lend it to be that serious.
