Maybe the people saying Green Day were waiting for Blink to be done with their album had a point.

I know a while back I said that Green Day should release something soon when Blink had the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 so they could help this wave of pop-punk that is popular right now. I'm just so happy with this song, loved the harder rock and faster pace to start off this album cycle. Can't wait to see what gets announced at noon

I see they've changed their profile picture on YouTube and they've put up the album cover and the date of the album release. Hopefully they'll be putting up the music video soon.

I just realized I received an email from LiveNation around 11am (3.5hrs ago) regarding GD/the new album.  Didn't expect it. Here it is:

"New Music From Green Day

Green Day’s new single “Bang Bang” is out now! Listen and pre-order their album "Revolution Radio" at www.GreenDay.com.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award-winning rock band Green Day will release their 12th studio album, entitled Revolution Radio , on October 7th via Reprise Records. The album is available for pre-order today. Those who pre-order will receive an instant download of the first single, “Bang Bang,” which is now available at www.GreenDay.com.

Produced by Green Day and recorded in Oakland, Revolution Radio is a potent 12-track blitz of angst-ridden anthems that unites Green Day's fully formed stylistic approach with lyrical themes that address the complexities and uncertainties of modern day existence. Musically, the album is raw, visceral, and fearless -- solidifying the band's reign as one of the leading voices in rock music. The first single, “Bang Bang”, released today and inspired by recent events, marks a welcome return from a band with more to say than ever.

"Of course the world has lost its collective mind… and me, Mike and Tré are lost souls too,” said Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. “Revolution Radio is a movement for lost souls to come together… dance together… sing together... and most of all, find each other. That's what the spirit of Green Day has been about since day one."

Revolution Radio Track Listing

1. Somewhere Now
2. Bang Bang
3. Revolution Radio
4. Say Goodbye
5. Outlaws
6. Bouncing Off The Wall
7. Still Breathing

Once upon a time, back in the dark year of 2014, GDC was quivering on the brink of self-destruction. Cliques ran rampant, infighting and forum drama were at untold heights of pettiness, internet merry-making of all types was frowned upon, and internet merry-makers were swiftly banished via the frequent usage of suspensions by the Evil Mods.

Enter the man... the legend...... the leader of the internet merry-makers himself.... @rootbeersoup. He banded the banished together and named us the OUTLAWS. For months, he and his band of #outlaws roamed GDC, making light of everything and enjoying the game of cat and mouse they played with the Evil Mods. Over time, the outlaws were no longer needed, but some say they still lurk on GDC, watching and waiting. Their actions inspired Green Day to write "Outlaws." So it goes.

tl;dr, super meta-injoke.

Frankly it is insulting to GD to compare them to Blink.  GD is one of the all time great rock bands.  Blink is garbage.

There might be more explicit songs than one. I tunes is weried like that. If you have dookie on I tunes only Longview is marked explicit while insomniac is not even marked explicit.
