Clockwise
Billie's voice on Troubled Times is so good. Also love how they used the "Nightlife effect" on the chorus
greendepent
I actually like Too Dumb To Die. Is slowly becoming my favorite song of the album. Seems the better written, along with Bang Bang and Somewhere Now My real problem of this album, at this point of the of my life, and the band too, is that BJ is too lazy to write a good chorus w/o making repetitive (Outlaws, Youngblood, Say Goodbye, Still Breathing, Troubled Times) I mean, there is nothing than a dictionary can't fix for making the songs better. The other part is the solos. Thinking that the trilogy gave us good chunck of guitar work, the idea is to keep the good things, not just wash them away, at least in this moment where there is no pressure to show something to someone, where you have all the time to make a good and consistent record. God, those solos on Youngblood, if can call them like that, are some of the worse ideas ever.

I still need the lyric book though because I know I missing heaps.

DeJennsitized
Somewhere Now has Foo Fighter vibes for sure, especially in the verses. I hear a bit of Big Me I think.
UNICORN VOMIT
I also feel like Say Goodbye is going to be a little gem that will stay buried in their catalogue. I love the verse structure.
DeJennsitized
I really like the chorus in Outlaws but the verses just drag out too long for me. And Forever Now is still a bit muddled to me...need a few more listens I think! 13 minutes ago, Second favourite son said: I'm still waiting for Oct 7th. I commend you. Steven Seagull
I really wonder how Billie destroyed the phrase "pop punk". Listen to the new Sum 41 song and you'll hear the difference.
Nowhere Man
As I see everybody has the diverse references considering Somewhere Now, there are The Who, Sweet Child O'Mine by Guns'N'Roses, Boston, Foo Fighters. For me this song is musically a big thank you for Rock'n 'Roll, to all the music Billie Joe enjoys and loves like he spoke in the Hall of Fame speech. And what I love most about it is that even having so many references it still sounds like Green Day, almost at its best.

Slash
Troubled Times sounds great, but musically it seems very similar to While My Guitar Gently Weeps, especially the intro.
Metadon
One thing is sure - The STRONGEST moment in GD song for last 7 damn years is this part: Hallelujiah! I found my soul Under the sofa pillows Congratulations, I found myself Somewhere now

Over hear, I guess there is another common kind of joke that you always lose things in the sofa pillows. You pull your pillows up and you will find change, guitar picks, the remote control etc. It is a common place to find things. I think what he meant by I find my sould under the sofa pillows is that the was so far gone, but it was easy to find his way back if you looked in the right place

Platypus2000
If anyone else wrote an album with these lyrics they'd be hailed geniuses, expectations from Billie from us are a little bit silly. As far I can see most people like the lyrics though, it's not really worth picking certain lines out. There's some clever shit and some funny shit. I fucking LOVE this man.
