Still can't believe that we waited 4 years for just 6 good songs. Green Day can do so much better than Somwhere Now that just sounds like a filler.

@Andres please ban him until after this era is over. I seriously can't take anyone of this garbage.

This really feels like a home-recorded album. Actual music quality is kinda meh

at the moment it's just a leak, we'll get better quality versions once the thing is actually out. imo i really like the raw and more experimental feel of some of the album

I think Say Goodbye is going to be one of my favorites. Awesome track!

I tried to wait, but I have no self control. I'm impressed so far.

I'm over a minute into Outlaws, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Somewhere Now is not what I expected, but good.

Going to have to agree with this. I come here to talk about Green Day with people who love the band as much I do. So much negativity from @Steven Seagull .... Do you even like Green Day?

I will say again: This is definitely NOT your expected, stereotypical Green Day. Definitely a new sound.

My only concern is the quality...is the rip good? Otherwise ill wait til I pick up the CD or vinyl.

Mine is 320kbps and when I scan it in Spek the frequencies hit all the way up to the 20KHz frequencies cleanly so whatever I have is definitely the official full quality version. Still recommend you get the CD / Vinyl like I am just to support the sales. I'm getting the booklet CD thing.

Just for reference, this is what your average lower quality / bitrate audio file will look like:

I'm fine with people having negative opinions. But if they keep going on and on and on, then I have no issue suspending them. Report people and the mod team will discuss it.

Yeah dissenting opinions don't bother me. I'm just tired of the same post over and over with no real extrapolation or explanation. It's not a contribution to the conversation.

I FUCKING LOVE OUTLAWS <3

Didn't like Troubled Times at first listen but it's starting to grow on me. It's very haunting.

Okay so here comes my opinion: I LOVE it. I was worried that I wouldnt like the new album because I personally did not like the trilogy at all. But this is amazing. There are some songs I am.not tooo excited about, but all in all it's such a good album to me. I love that they tried out something new but it's still Green Day to me.

My favorite ones are BOTW, Youngblood (this might be one of my favorite GD songs tbh)  and Forever now. But theres not a single song on it that I do not like at all which was never the case for me after Kerplunk.

All in all, catchy album and the perfect ammount of green day-ness and new things. Only thing I would maybe change is the ammount of fast songs, more songs like Youngblood for instance wouldve been sick. I'm having high hopes for some sick  b-sides.

Exactly, posting an opinion positive or negative is fine, but posting the same negative opinion over and over is just unnecessary.

I almost listened to the album on my mp3 player lying in bed last night but I was tired and it felt wrong so I stopped lmao. I'll probably do it later today, excited :D

Has anybody thought of putting the tracks in a different order? I didn't know if this warranted a whole new thread, but I wanted to mention it.

One of my main problems with the album is that it just doesn't flow well, so I reordered it into a playlist that I think sounds a bit better.
Let me know what you think

1: Bang Bang
2: Bouncing off the Wall
3: Say Goodbye
4: Somewhere Now
5: Youngblood
6: Revolution Radio
7: Still Breathing
8: Outlaws
9: Ordinary World
10: Too Dumb To Die
11: Troubled Time
12: Forever Now

As much as I love this album so far it kinda feels like a practice album for this new era of green day, they played around a bit and maybe messed up a bit, i can see their next album being a fusion of this albums production and the trilogy's. it's going to be gorgeous, but for the moment i'm going to enjoy this album, its great, i just hope it sells well.

I'm very impressed. Not what I expected really, but there is not a bad song on it, IMO. Great record! Can't wait for the actual release date, so I can have a physical copy in my hands.

Wow, I missed a lot while I was at work.

Judging by how much people here are disliking this album it probably means it will be awesome.

I just listened all the way through and I'm very pleased! While there are definitely surprises thrown in, they aren't too damning.

The track I was super looking forward to hearing was Somewhere Now mainly because the Rolling Stone review compared it to The Who and Guided by Voices. Well, it didn't disappoint! I was blown away! Without a doubt, it is one of my favorite tracks on the album. My other favorites after first listen are: Outlaws, Too Dumb to Die, Forever Now, and of course, Bang Bang!

I can't say I hate any of the tracks, however there are a few i'm not in love with. Besides Still Breathing, I wasn't too impressed with Bouncing off the Wall. I wish it was slightly faster and harder, especially with a title like that. I also wasn't a huge fan of Say Goodbye. If there's one thing I dislike in rock songs now it's that "marching" sound! However, it's definitely not terrible by any means.

Overall, I think the album is something the band should be proud of! I know I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride while listening to it. These guys have been through so much, they're fucking Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, and this album was like coming full circle in a way. It had hints of old school Green Day while staying modern, which is awesome. Thumbs up!
